Number 6 Posted 2 October 2014 Posted 2 October 2014 An uninspiring squad. Roy had opportunity to give someone a shot here, and I'm not saying it should have been Vardy, and passed it up. A Berahino, Gayle or Vardy would have made it interesting, now just look like two dull games.
Shamomoa Posted 2 October 2014 Posted 2 October 2014 He will show them what there missing on Saturday ;-)
m4DD0gg Posted 2 October 2014 Posted 2 October 2014 There is no wonder England are so bad. I dont personally think Vardy is ready for an international competition however against 2 supposedly weaker nations he should be given a chance as he is the future, Ricky Lambert is not....but wait who does he play for.....

But he has never let England down when he has played
Jordan Posted 2 October 2014 Posted 2 October 2014 It'll be interesting to see how Hodgson's 2-8-0 formation works out, but I suppose San Marino and Estonia should allow England's players to get their feet wet in the new system. P.S. I would still pick Rickie Lambert no matter what because he's the man. I think we might be getting ahead of ourselves with Vardy, but imagine a Lambert-Vardy strike partnership and England fans still claiming they "can't relate" to a team of "greedy mercenaries."
blue army 1988 Posted 2 October 2014 Posted 2 October 2014 Nice to see with rooneys current attitude and form for club he still gets a call up for the england team.......what a joke!
Danno Posted 2 October 2014 Posted 2 October 2014 Nice to see with rooneys current attitude and form for club he still gets a call up for the england team.......what a joke!Yes not like hes our best striker or anything.
FrankieWorthoYaggedMyWife Posted 2 October 2014 Posted 2 October 2014 But he has never let England down when he has played Neither did Kenny Sansom but you wouldnt pick him! Would Lambert be in if he was sub at Southampton now?
Uncle Monty Posted 2 October 2014 Posted 2 October 2014 Yes not like hes our best striker or anything. Or the Captain...
filbertway Posted 2 October 2014 Posted 2 October 2014 He'd probably get injured training with them anyway. A shocking amount of players seem to get injured on England duty.
The Doctor Posted 2 October 2014 Posted 2 October 2014 He'd probably get injured training with them anyway. A shocking amount of players seem to get injured on England duty. a cynic might suggest they get "injured" to avoid making some of the bigger names having to work for their place - the FA is an old cronies club, and I wouldn't be surprised if that slipped into the squad selection as well.
Finnegan Posted 2 October 2014 Posted 2 October 2014 Come on Vards, find yourself a Welsh granny, be a hero.
Maybes Posted 2 October 2014 Posted 2 October 2014 The inclusion of Townsend and Lambert is farcical. Nathan Dyer should be in ahead of Townsend and I'd prefer to see the likes of Dwight Gayle given a chance ahead of the ageing Lambert.
Kitchandro Posted 2 October 2014 Posted 2 October 2014 The inclusion of Townsend and Lambert is farcical. Nathan Dyer should be in ahead of Townsend and I'd prefer to see the likes of Dwight Gayle given a chance ahead of the ageing Lambert. No idea how he hasn't been included regularly, he's so underrated. This has nothing to do with Vardy, but we will never get anywhere with someone like Hodgson in charge.
Samilktray Posted 2 October 2014 Posted 2 October 2014 The likes of Nathan Dyer May aswell just retire from international football now to make a point.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 2 October 2014 Posted 2 October 2014 Vardy is a better centre forward than Lambert right now, a better wide player than Townend right now and from what I have seen from him so far this season a better defender than Jagielka.
Maybes Posted 2 October 2014 Posted 2 October 2014 I don't think Ryan Bertrand is too far away from a call up either. Chris Smalling needs to be kept away from the squad. Awful player.
lgfualol Posted 2 October 2014 Posted 2 October 2014 Well there goes my interest in watching the games.
lcfcsnow Posted 2 October 2014 Posted 2 October 2014 http://www.redcafe.net/threads/james-vardy-considered-for-england-call-up.397123/ still harping on about one good game
Guest ttfn Posted 2 October 2014 Posted 2 October 2014 Nathan Dyer is suffering from a bad case of Lee Carsley Syndrome.
Oxfordfox83 Posted 2 October 2014 Posted 2 October 2014 jonjo shelvey!! i make drinky a certainty if hodgson has a brain next time To be fair, Shelvey has been immense this season-Swansea have been built around him. Quite pleased to see a form player from a smaller team picked. Not that he'll play, but still...
st albans fox Posted 2 October 2014 Posted 2 October 2014 Jamaica are playing in japan next friday so wes has a long trip to endure. king will have two games but no travelling. kasper also twice but shouldnt be an issue. however, we already saw that we can lose a player to a knock on duty so i dont really understand the fixation with getting our boys away from belvoir drive. we need to survive - once established, we can revel in international appearances. until then, lets concentrate on LCFC !

That could be humiliating if the Japan boys turn up.
