Ashley Posted 3 October 2014 Posted 3 October 2014 I don't know of any burnlwy fan who is thinking any such thing. We are hoping to just keep the score down tomorrow, get some players back and try and kick on after the break. Agree with the score 6-0 leicester. I'm frankly amazed so many are even giving us a goal. What's gone wrong so far?
Fox92 Posted 3 October 2014 Posted 3 October 2014 I'm frankly amazed so many are even giving us a goal. Because we watch Leicester every week! You're bound to score.
BlackburnClaret Posted 3 October 2014 Posted 3 October 2014 What's gone wrong so far? The loss of all four central midfield players and our 47 goal strike force. I've said on here how good our defence is, but it's only as good as the cover in front of it, and all we have there is Steven Reid, and he's shite.
Freesolo Posted 3 October 2014 Posted 3 October 2014 As soon as I hear the words "they've not scored / haven't won a match in X number of games", and when every single pundit predicts a win for us, I worry we'll lose. I'll say 2-1 to Burnley, and hope I'm wrong! well you can get over 3/1 on a burnley win maybe you should stick some wonga on it

Either you're downplaying your chances to tell us we're crap if we don't destroy you, something you've already denied to Finners on the other thread, or you genuinely feel you're Derby 07-08 bad. It'll be a lot closer than you think, especially if you park the bus. We tend to struggle when teams do that. Come at us though and it could get ugly, we love hitting teams on the break.

Corky Posted 3 October 2014 Posted 3 October 2014 Burnley will set up too conservatively to let them batter us. Our best performances were Derby (who came to attack) and the last 30 minutes v Man United who were all over the place. The two 6-goal wins against Ipswich and Huddersfield were teams who were just awful, unstructured and little fight. Burnley will be organised and resolute. Set-pieces have to be threatening.
Thracian Posted 3 October 2014 Posted 3 October 2014 Various things - Burnley's shocking defeat by West Brom, their failing to score for so long and Leicester's own woeful display against theoretically "weaker" opposition at Crystal Palace all point to a nervy and disappointing display which looks to me like a 1-1 or 2-2 draw at best. I'm not convinced we're improving any longer. Some of the factors that made us so enthusiastically competitive have been sacrificed and we just didn't seem to have the same sort of balance and energy in our side against Palace that we had in previous games. Of course, the manager might rectify that with his team selection but Burnley will be resilient whatever and the importance of the game will ensure that risks are kept to a minumum and therefore the chances of both teams cancelling each other out will become greater. A draw for me with 1-1 most likely given Burnley's doggedness. .
theessexfox Posted 3 October 2014 Posted 3 October 2014 Jeez Thracian it was the game before last when we beat Man United 5-3, chill.
Donut Posted 3 October 2014 Posted 3 October 2014 Burnleys goal drought wont go on forever, and i expect a nervy 90 mins. Ultimately, a narrow 2-1 to Leicester
Freesolo Posted 3 October 2014 Posted 3 October 2014 Prem League Survival is all about having good home form and we have it, 3-0

I'm not saying we are Derby bad at all, far from it. I still think we will stay up this season, but at the moment we are so short in quality we are there for a drubbing. Dyche pretty much said yesterday that there was no point risking jones and Marney tomorrow because after the break we have 3 out of 4 home game games. That pretty much says to me it's a gimme for you.
Dan Posted 4 October 2014 Posted 4 October 2014 I know he's a blubberer and has a huge inferiority complex but I doubt any manager would actually admit they're going to lose in that fashion.
Wrighty22 Posted 4 October 2014 Posted 4 October 2014 As long as we get 3 points I'll be happy, although I would like to keep a cleansheet today.
roblcfc84 Posted 4 October 2014 Posted 4 October 2014 Tight 1-0. Had a dream last night that Esteban scored a free kick, so might have a cheeky fiver on him for a goal at anytime.
Freesolo Posted 4 October 2014 Posted 4 October 2014 Raining pretty heavy in Corby, whats the weather forecast for todays game? Dont know who Rain would suit more
lancyclaret Posted 4 October 2014 Posted 4 October 2014 I'd be grateful if we just score a CONSOLATION goal (lose 1-3 1-4 1-5) to end our goal drought - we acquitted ourselves quite well in the first 5 games and should have more points on board than we have(Arfield missed an 85th penalty which would have given us a 1-0 win at Crystal Palace, but that team we put out at West Brom had no chance whatsoever. With the midfield put out against WBA, we would have struggled to beat any championship side (Blackpool included) and the top few League One teams. With a similar midfield today, Leicester should win by at least 2-0/3-0....if not more. I just hope our injuries clear up before too much damage is done. The THREE relegation teams will come from Burnley, QPR, Newcastle, Sunderland, Hull, Palace and West Brom (despite their big win against us they are not that good - they were just very confident after a surprise win at Spurs and a comeback cup win against Hull). Plus Lescott back from injury improves WBA 100% - if he misses many games this season, their defence will be there for the taking as in the 0-3 defeat at Swansea.
