This is not middle England or any other western democracy. You can't measure what goes on there using your western values or beliefs. It really is another world. This Islamic Sate will not negotiate, why should it? We have nothing to offher that it can'tjust take. It know s the west fears it and it will exploit that fear. Now Arab states fear it, ISIS win usinf fear, terror, shock, acts that appall the western mind. Be assured there will come the day when we have to confront them face to face, bombss will disrupt but not destroy them.

That baffled me too.I have seen many well meaning people quicker to condemned ukip that isil. The mind boggles. To be fair, the opinion of the nus on matter like this is surely irrelevant.

To me, that is more islamaphobic that then motion to condemn IS, because it suggests that all muslims are pro-terrorism and that IS is representative of the average muslim... As nice as it is to think that all people are well meaning and will agree to a peaceful resolution if you give them the chance, some simply won't. The group we're dealing with have clearly stated their goal and war is their means of achieving that goal. IS expansionism will continue if they aren't confronted by somebody.

Not managed it in many many months of fighting. The Peshmerga? They will defend their people and their territory, but they are not strong enough to destroy ISIS. The Iraq's? They are nowhere near good enough or determined enough take the fight to ISIS. These forces are barely holding their own against a committed and ruthless enemy. Like it or not, it will fall to the usual suspects to bring this to some conclusion. I avoid using terms like end or finish because that won't happen. This issue is here for the duration, abroad and at home. Its gone beyond states and borders.
