Leicester City v West Bromwich Albion match thread

A lot of central midfielders, Drinky, James, Cambiasso and King, will this be 4-3-1-2, 4-1-3-2, a diamond or Vardy on the left and James on the right making it a 4-5-1? Just not sure where the width would come from otherwise? I don't want to contradict myself having said I want us to start making the opposition worry about us more but with a diamond the WBA full backs could get a hell of a lot of time and space on the ball. Are we again trying to counter the oppositions strengths or is this a positive formation for a home side to win a match? Are we trying to win the midfield battle early on, increase possession rates and then expand on that as the game goes on?

WHAT THE FVCK IS HE DOING?

FOUR centre mids, no wide players, most creative outlet and leading scorer dropped, no Knockaert, De Laet in the side. Jesus wept.

He's filling out his own P45 here.

Well, at least if we get a Penalty, Nugent is on the pitch to double his goals tally.

(I realise Nugent will probably score now, and make me look silly.)

Always happens, luckily people don't remember my stupid comments.

Would have liked to see knockaert on bench in case we need to use width - possibly would have liked to take a gamble and play schlupp at LB if we're going this narrow - with Cambiasso providing cover at the back would have given both him licence to go forward more ... and while Paul can do that too I don't think he has the pace to get back quickly if we're hit on the counter.

Still if this works we'll be calling NP a genius again - I just don't think this is a formation to use every game - I like our pacy wide players.

One good thing with this formation is hopefully we will stop hoofing the route one ball all the time - I think we looked better when we had less possession but tried playing nice quick short passes like we did the first few games - than the last few when we've had more possession but keep losing it by trying to just hope our faster players can run on to the balls quicker.

Jeff saying this is Wasilewski's debut for us.....twat.

Maybe he 'means' Premiership debut... remember it only counts if its the Prem.!

Don't see the complaint in dropping ulloa - not even a shot in three games. As for de laet, I still don't see why people want him dropped...

Mahrez'll probably come on at some point

Do people think this lineup is promoting attack or defence? I can't tell. I don't know if Nugent is a threat for their defence with past games in mind.

You can't drop de laet if we're playing with no width, he's there to provide it. Not sure what's going to come from Konchesky on the other side though :(

Why not wait til we see it in action before getting all pissy about it?

Same formation as against Man Utd, so that's already a positive. De Laet's obviously still in the side to provide some attacking width with the narrow formation, with Cambiasso in there to cover the full backs when they get forward. Nugent over Ulloa - not that great on the face of it, but the Nugent/Vardy partnership worked wonders last season, so hopefully we'll see the same high pressing game from them again.

Well I have faith, trusting that there's method behind the madness.

Look on the bright side, at least it makes it more difficult for the opposition to prepare for matches against us as they won't have ****ing clue who or what formation we will play

I like it.

At the end of the day no-one will ever be happy.

Ulloa needed a break in my opinion and Nuge and Vardy are a good pairing

Glad Andy king starts (still dunno why he was dropped)

James and drinkwater another good pairing.

Yes there is no width but that's why de laet is playing as he will have space to run forward..

3-1 city (I might get slated for that!!)

De Laet gets turned too easily. I'm not entirely convinced that Simpson would be better though.

Ulloa might not have had a shot (see: No service), but I'd still back him to score much more often then I would Nuge.

Because otherwise you get called a "fickle fan" or "Captain Hindsight".

Plus, if we can't put our opinions on here, then we might aswell close the site down now.

It's a wonder why he is on the bench then.

Both Ulloa and wood shouldn't be on the bench anyway, may as well have Knockaert or Lawrence there who performed well in the week and offer something different.

How about we see how he performs with Vardy again rather than slating him before the whistle's blown? If he's suddenly shit, all right, throw Ulloa on and slow the game down a bit, but you're the one complaining about us hoofing the ball up to Ulloa every match and now that we're playing our pacey forwards who had a brilliant year last year again you're complaining that Nugent's shit
