Vicki Vixen Posted 27 November 2014 Posted 27 November 2014 Just posted on the official twitter feed. One month loan. Hopefully he will get match fit with Rotherham and be pushing for a first team place with us in the new year. Has looked very sharp for the U21s so far. Good luck to him
kingcarr21 Posted 27 November 2014 Posted 27 November 2014 Ideal for everyone with the ACON in january. Give him some gametime and in January will maybe have a chance for the first team off the bench
jamesmilner Posted 27 November 2014 Posted 27 November 2014 I heard Pearson talking to their manager at the Benfica game Monday . He seems very keen on Tom . Rightly so IMO , I thought he could do a job for our first team but deffo got lots of potential .
lgfualol Posted 27 November 2014 Posted 27 November 2014 Nice, hopefully gets a start on Saturday. I wonder if he feels like moving here was a bad idea as he hasnt had a look in. Hopefully in January he can get some game time.

Hopefully in January he can get some game time. He was playing for Yeovil Town in January. Do you think he really thought he'd be getting game time here every week? Doubt Pearson promised him anything of the sort.

Stevosevic Posted 27 November 2014 Posted 27 November 2014 Not every week but yes I thought he'd have made the bench at least once. We've got the talented Schlupp though...
filbertway Posted 27 November 2014 Posted 27 November 2014 He was signed as one for the future so it was unlikely he'd feature straight away. As has been mentioned, if he goes to Rotherham, plays well for them and comes back full on confidence he could be looking at some game time in the second half of the season. Powell is more confusing for me considering he was brought in on loan. I can only assume he's on a season long trial almost and we'll see if we want him/he wants us after a year. Can't see him getting too much game time at United with the class they possess. If he's behind Nugent now then you can't see him getting ahead of Mata anytime soon.
VLC86 Posted 27 November 2014 Posted 27 November 2014 Good news that It is only for a month as it will give the staff time to evaluate him in competitive matches and then decide if he will do a job for us this season.
Babylon Posted 27 November 2014 Posted 27 November 2014 Nice, hopefully gets a start on Saturday. I wonder if he feels like moving here was a bad idea as he hasnt had a look in. Hopefully in January he can get some game time. It was stated when he signed that it was a dev squad singing.

Manwell Pablo Posted 27 November 2014 Posted 27 November 2014 Are you watching Inckleyfox, are you watching, are you watching.......
Dan Posted 27 November 2014 Posted 27 November 2014 Ideal for everyone with the ACON in january. Give him some gametime and in January will maybe have a chance for the first team off the bench Good point that is. Hopefully that's their thinking. He looks very decent. I know it's only in the U21s league but in terms of natural ability he looks outstanding at times.
inckley fox Posted 28 November 2014 Posted 28 November 2014 Are you watching Inckleyfox, are you watching, are you watching....... Yes I am. I seem to recall you also said Gary Taylor-Fletcher would play more games for us this season than Powell, and that Pearson wouldn't drop Nugent. So you win some you lose some!
inckley fox Posted 28 November 2014 Posted 28 November 2014 It was stated when he signed that it was a dev squad singing. Are you sure? I thought Beaglehole (sp.?) specifically said he was signed for the first team squad. And the player himself said he hoped to break through to the first team soon.

Did Pablo REALLY say GTF would play more games than Powell and Pearson wouldn't drop Nuge?
Burbo17J2 Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 Nige said that he is only going for 1 month so he gets up to match fitness for January and Febuary when Riyad and Jeff go to africa

inckley fox Posted 29 November 2014 Posted 29 November 2014 I'm sure... who the article was by I have no idea though, whether it be club or Merc etc. It's not especially important, I suppose, because he's turned out to be a Development Squad player either way. Hopefully he gets some good experience at Rotherham (apparently he's been lively today so far) and provides us with an extra option in the new year.

Judging by the BBC match report, you're right: http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/98051-tom-lawrence-out-on-loan-to-rotherham/ Lots of shots on goal, won a free-kick for Rovrum in the first and tried to set up his teammates in good positions, too.

GingerrrFox Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 He's a quality player. He will get his chance when Mahrez and Schlupp head off to the ACON but personally I think he should be with us doing the business already.
st albans fox Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 Some sensible planning by the management and he should be confident and match fit once Riyadh heads off to morocco.
