foxsake123 Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 The "lack of tactical know-how" you're referring to is in parts down to Pearson's inexperience in this division, there's a learning curve for everybody involved. Because, let's face it: Hardly anyone within this squad or as part of the management team possesses vast Premier League experience. As for Pearson being "highly self-opiniated" - none of us knows how he really is. You base your picture of him on his media appearances, yet the people working closely with him describe him entirely differently. Fans and so-called journalists (like match commentator and radio show host Ian Stringer) have indeed no say in the matter whom to field during a game, never had and are unlikely to ever have in the near or distant future. That our lack of signings in the summer could also down to financial constraints or the work of other people within the club, conveniently flies by your head. We may not be an attractive proposition for new signings at the present moment, but then again, at least a third in the Premier League (all the clubs near the bottom of the table) are in a similar position. Tactical knowhow nonsense. Its just about winning games. The game is exactly the same in all divisions
foxsake123 Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 It's massively short-term, it's ruining our clubs future over the next 4-5 years for the sake of this season. Plus if you want to be short-term about it, who is going to coax a better performance out of these players than NP just did today? Very few if any managers that are realistically available that's who. Ever had someone tell you the same thing in your life over & over again? If that person no longer had your confidence or was unable to get through to you due to familiarity its time for a change.

If that person no longer had your confidence or was unable to get through to you due to familiarity its time for a change. and if we had gone on to win 3 or 4-1 today, what would you say?
foxsake123 Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 and if we had gone on to win 3 or 4-1 today, what would you say? So I give you one possible reason and you come back with a hypothetical one. Smart. That's all NP lovers have now.
Jace Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Funny game for this to have happened in but I think I have lost the faith today. He was always be a legend to me Pearson but over the last couple of months I've had a few doubts and from today I would not be disappointed if we made a change for someone like Neil Lennon.
5waller5 Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 and if we had gone on to win 3 or 4-1 today, what would you say? We didn't.
tickler28 Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Pearson if you're reading this, not all of us are as short-term reactionary as this tool here Tool....really? Over reacting...really? Go choke on a walnut whip and do us all a favour

It's not to be self righteous about manager loyalty?? 4-5 years??? £600 million income difference in those years between the Premiership and champ..... But you want Nige to save a few quid and build a side for 5 years time?? I'd rather sack him, get a premier league manager and buy some premier league players thanks.
buzzy Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 and if we had gone on to win 3 or 4-1 today, what would you say? you are a utter **** pearsonitte. say no more
DanTheFox07 Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 So I give you one possible reason and you come back with a hypothetical one. Smart. That's all NP lovers have now. This has been happening past few week's now! seem's like most fan's are happy for him to take us down! no Loyalty shown to Pearson, give me a break how many games without a win! I appreciate the foundation Pearson built at this club but the time has come to say he is out of his depth in this league. Southampton did a similar thing when they won the championship convincingly and then they sacked Adkins which most people thought was unfair and look where they are now.
Merging Cultures Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 I think I've joined the Pearson out brigade. I was/am against changing half way through the season, but I would have thought we'd have a few more points by now. It's difficult to admit it, but I think it is time for NP to go.
Spicer Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Even if we changed the manager I don't think we will survive. Since Pearson's championship record is great I would keep him for next season.
Tuna Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Even if we changed the manager I don't think we will survive. Since Pearson's championship record is great I would keep him for next season. Its a tough choice. Take loser manager down with loser players? This run could go on into next season. Or Sack. Get bad manager in and end up like Wolves, double relegation. Either way, we are in a terrible fooking mess.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 If I hadn't performed at work for x amount of weeks id have been let go by now, still think we should give another guy a shot, instead of writing off this season.

Very few if any managers that are realistically available that's who. Going on this seasons theme, we are more than likely to take a step backwards next game anyway? Surely you know it's not certain that this wasn't a one off performance? And that this is the first time in 2 and a half months we've been the better team all round? We need consistency, and I just don't have faith in nigel getting this performance from us again this season.
fuchsntf Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 I am going bed now, and asked my wife to wake me at 18:30....on 7/1/2015. I will dream and have nightmares. The question is will I be opening the sports pages, to see city 14th in the PL. 1st-2nd in the championship, or 12th in the championship. I know it cant be 22nd in the championship........could it ??

broughtonblue Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Please explain how pearson was to blame today! I can't think of a thing he could have done differently to get a better performance from them today
tickler28 Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Please explain how pearson was to blame today! I can't think of a thing he could have done differently to get a better performance from them today If Pearson is so great why do we only have 2 points from 39?
Max Power Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 Please explain how pearson was to blame today! We lost...again.
DB11 Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 If Pearson is so great why do we only have 2 points from 39? Because the players don't have the experience, and in some cases the skill, to compete at this level. The players are playing for Pearson, they clearly haven't given up and lost faith. That alone is reason to keep NP because a new manager would cause turmoil.

That's a fair point that you aren't sure NP can produce this performance every week.I believer he can as he did last year, but I can certainly understand your doubts. unlike that tickler poster who is an idiot and thinks changing managers will suddenly make us Southampton! Get a grip.
broughtonblue Posted 26 December 2014 Posted 26 December 2014 To the two posts above, I asked for an explanation of how he was to blame which you can't give
