v6rat Posted 23 December 2014 Posted 23 December 2014 Quote from Pearson on BBC Football today. "If I was sitting here in the knowledge our performances were very, very bad, I wouldn't be sitting here for a start," Pearson said." Performance is one thing, not getting points is what will cost him his job in the end.
whitwickfox Posted 23 December 2014 Posted 23 December 2014 I think maybe Pearson had a clause in his contract which meant he would walk away with a very small compensation if any., should we be in the bottom three at christmas. Would explain why he wasn't rushing to sign it. If that's the case then maybe he won't be in charge Boxing Day
Mr Weller Posted 23 December 2014 Posted 23 December 2014 It's his lack of a plan or vision that is most worrying. Bad start, yes but not the first.Bad attitude, yes and regrettable but not s sacking offrnce. No vision, time to show him the door.

Would explain why he wasn't rushing to sign it. If that's the case then maybe he won't be in charge Boxing Day If he was going to be sacked before Boxing Day, it'd have been done by now - they're not going to sack him one/two days before Christmas, it gives the players no time to adjust, and even if they had someone lined up, he'd have no time to evaluate the squad.
whitwickfox Posted 23 December 2014 Posted 23 December 2014 Never liked the bloke but he did do a good job for us in the championship. I like every other fan on here wanted him the team and the club to succeed to the next level. I still don't think he has the balls to smash up this squad and bring in some quality premier standard players. This will be his downfall ...shame really
biggs Posted 23 December 2014 Posted 23 December 2014 Mistakes and poor play in our defensive end accompanied by the lack of creativity and scoring punch up front is obvious. We are weak in so many positions and IMO it wouldn't really matter who the manager is with the squad we have. The effort from the players is there, no question, but I can't see any combination of players in any formation working on a regular basis. One or two games we might pull one out of the hat. This team needs an overhaul and 3 or 4 new premiership quality faces in January might be enough to keep us on the right side of relegation. NP to stay

Is that just a personal hunch or something you've heard from a decent source??
oohaahmustafa Posted 23 December 2014 Posted 23 December 2014 Give him the full season surely. Took him a year or so to work out how to smash the Championship. I'm not a manager / tactics expert (Unlike some on here it seems) But I assume the Prem is a harder thing to crack. If we go down he has proved he can get us back up. And if we do come back up he will have experience from this season. And he's proved given time he can make us better. Saying that we are not down yet! It looks bad but there is more than enough time. Come on Leicester!
whitwickfox Posted 23 December 2014 Posted 23 December 2014 Just a hunch really. There are a lot of things not making sense right now 1. The difference in the prem against the championship is worth an estimated 180 million to the owners with sky and their own tv rights. So why sit back and watch it go down the drain. 2. Pearson has openly stated he had no problems with the recently departed director of football, so who really was responsible for the lack of incoming players during the summer 3 and last but not least why don't we hear anything coming out of the club

Stadt Posted 23 December 2014 Posted 23 December 2014 That's a bit of a myth though, he really doesn't give the ball away all that much. Have a look at his options next time you are at a game, they are usually limited.Konchesky doesn't get the help that he needs but he's so technically limited that most of his problems are created himself, watch how he receives the ball compared to Simpson somebody else who is supposedly limited as a footballer. It's like Konchesky is made out of wood. He's just so awkward in the ball and he just can't wait to be rid of the ball.

Pearson's track record in interviews has generally been to give nothing away.
whitwickfox Posted 23 December 2014 Posted 23 December 2014 He makes no secret he can't stand stringer won't even talk to him

It's rare that football clubs feel the need to say anything, usually because it doesn't improve the situation. Same for Pearson on Robinson, could easily be lying for PR purposes. Your first point is just an opinion but you've got to ask yourself what's more likely - that the owners would allow us to get relegated deliberately or that you disagree with their plan for survival?
Eddy Kellys Heroes Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 I can't believe anyone is still talking about survival?

Come on Leicester! He hasn't proved he can take us back up though? Getting a relegated team back up the following season is completely different to what NP achieved. A relegated team has divisions, bad feeling around the place and the best players leave.i don't get the theory that relegation under NP is ok, as he will bring us back the next year!

Parachute payment is softening the blow in case of relegation, which means we'd be able to keep the core of the squad together (we have a young and talented nucleus) and even strengthen it with more talent/experience along the way.
st albans fox Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 We'll find out soon enough (via the level of players coming in during jan) if the club is happy to accept relegation as being inevitable with a view that promotion is a reasonable expectation with this squad. they did prove that they can come back from a mental scar the season before.
Master Fox Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 Yeah. Lose against Spurs and Nige can go fvck himself.

No, I agree financially. But despite our team being collectively crap, some individuals could play at premier league level. They will want to leave if clubs come in for them. That will be one of the big issues.

In the championship I would imagine we'd go into next season without Schmeichel, Mahrez, knockaert, Wasyl, Konch, Upson, Hammond for one reason or another, so a bit of surgery needed.

I'm pretty sure there was some Club he was at where he managed to get a relegated team back up the following season. Now who was it? Hmmm.

But exciting knowing we have probably the best scouting set up within the Championship.
