Soar Fox Posted 23 December 2014 Posted 23 December 2014 It's not just about the goals, he's intrumental in everything we do. He's head and shoulders above any striker you have at the moment, and will only get better with the imminent return of Vokes. Do you think he will leave in January? There's absolutely no chance he will sign for us (and I can't blame him) but do you think you will have any other offers for him and if you do will you sell?

He's head and shoulders above any striker you have at the moment, and will only get better with the imminent return of Vokes. Wouldnt disagree with that. If we ended up with Ings I wouldnt be jizzing pints but I certainly wouldnt be questioning the merits of the signing.
BlackburnClaret Posted 23 December 2014 Posted 23 December 2014 Do you think he will leave in January? There's absolutely no chance he will sign for us (and I can't blame him) but do you think you will have any other offers for him and if you do will you sell? Dyche and the board have been banging on all week that he's not for sale. The cynic in me see as that as saying that he is, but it would be a silly offer, and I would think £10m plus would see him go, but it would see us relegated, so perhaps not a bad move on your behalf to start a bidding war.

He's head and shoulders above any striker you have at the moment, and will only get better with the imminent return of Vokes. That's a very bold claim. In an alternate reality I wouldn't mind seeing him partner Ulloa it has to be said.
BlackburnClaret Posted 23 December 2014 Posted 23 December 2014 That's a very bold claim. In an alternate reality I wouldn't mind seeing him partner Ulloa it has to be said. Would Nigel play a 4-4-2 though? Would he play Ings on the wing? Eddie Howe did.
MC Prussian Posted 23 December 2014 Posted 23 December 2014 At the time of you signing him, I meant. So, if at the start of the season you had the choice of Ulloa and Ings, who would you have gone for? Honestly? Given the fact that Ulloa had played abroad and came with a (decent) scoring record, tough call. Probably both - if Ings had been a bit cheaper.
Carl the Llama Posted 23 December 2014 Posted 23 December 2014 Would Nigel play a 4-4-2 though? Would he play Ings on the wing? Eddie Howe did. He'd do both, much like Vardy has done this season. I doubt Pearson would sign him as an out-and-out winger but with our current options he'd definitely get game time out wide. It's all much of a nothingness at the end of the day though.
BlackburnClaret Posted 23 December 2014 Posted 23 December 2014 Don't forget you're talking about the club that sold Austin for 4m and made Brian Laws a Premier League manager.
Mike Oxlong Posted 23 December 2014 Posted 23 December 2014 Firstly, if there's one club we wouldn't sell to its you. Secondly, who would you get better at price? Benson Hedges Both picked for England.
AnotherShitSeason Posted 23 December 2014 Posted 23 December 2014 It'll drag on for a good few weeks, he will stay at Burnley till the summer then go to Everton and meanwhile we will sign Frazier Campbell after missing out on Rhodes and Wells. Seems like this guy has been using the ASS A solid prediction!
Stadt Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 I think Juke will be available. We all told you he was dogshit but you wouldn't have it, you replaced hi with a decent striker and you start scoring? Coincidence? nope :xmastongue:
MPH Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 Serious question, Would people rather us do a QPR and try and spend our way to safety or be more conservative? Remember how long we have waited to play in the prem, I would like to see us go all out on a few class loan players than 'Build for the championship next season' Depends if its on the old has beens or the young and hungry that Pearson seems to like. .
Daveaway Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 There is no way on earth Burnley will sell to a rival team fighting relegation, this again is unbelievable and if the club think they have any chance on landing him fair enough, I hope they are not held to ransom for some ridiculous price like Watford did with Deeney also wasting valuable time in a short transfer window, I hope that the club don't pursue this for too long and miss out on other players!!!
Mike Oxlong Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 We've got more chance of signing Bings Crosby
BlackburnClaret Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 We all told you he was dogshit but you wouldn't have it, you replaced hi with a decent striker and you start scoring? Coincidence? nope :xmastongue: To be fair, you said pretty much all our side was dogshit, you're were always going to be right sooner or later.
FoxesFourLife Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 In the Sun today bid has been rejected. I think he would be a good signing.
ALC Fox Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 I'd like Ings here. It would only happen, I think, if Ings thinks he'll have a better chance of staying up and kicking on beyond that, if the money is significantly better, and if bigger clubs somehow stay away now they know we've made a bid. I think Burnley would vehemently resist the sale because of his worth to the team and that Prem survival is worth much more than £7.5m. But if the player's head is turned, they might not have a choice.
Kinowe Soorie Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 Money talks, money talks, dirty cash I want you, dirty cash I need you!!
CosbehFox Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 Excellent work by Nige and the boys. Make it appear Ings is up for sell before the really busy spell, get Ings mind off his game and then start a bidding war which will we pull out after a hopeful first bid. Ings leaves to pastures new and Burnley scramble around for a new striker. It's transfer nuclear warfare. Good work chaps. Burnley's fault for letting his contract run out.

CosbehFox Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 But if the player's head is turned, they might not have a choice. If the right club comes in (not necessarily us), he's gone. There was talk of Ajax recently. they will still get money for him when his contract ends! Not if he goes abroad and it won't be anywhere near £7.5 m.
tylesta Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 i just hope we don't put all our effort chasing players like the maynard saga!
Guest Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 I think people are missing something here. We Could sign Robin van persie and still not score. The problem is that our midfield can't retain possession, don't have any imagination and don't produce opportunities for our forwards. That's where we need to spend. Well, and defence, obviously!

We still cannot score for toffee, regardless of whether our midfield cannot retain possession and our defense. All areas of the pitch need improving. Danny Ings won't come here. We need a proven prem striker but they are hard to come by these days!] I reckon Callum Wilson would be worth a punt.
