lgfualol Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 No chance. He probably watches us play and realises he will most likely be coached on how not to score. "Right, Danny. You're in the box with the ball, what do you do?" "Erm, shoot?" "No,no, you hold up play and pass back to an available player"
BlackburnClaret Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 they will still get money for him when his contract ends! so there in a win win situation I think a one or two high bids will do us no harm now as this will be an influence in his tribunal. I'm sure it will be the summer that he goes, he does seem settled in the area and does seem to be very fond of the club. He won't go abroad.
dsr-burnley Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 I'd like Ings here. It would only happen, I think, if Ings thinks he'll have a better chance of staying up and kicking on beyond that, if the money is significantly better, and if bigger clubs somehow stay away now they know we've made a bid. I think Burnley would vehemently resist the sale because of his worth to the team and that Prem survival is worth much more than £7.5m. But if the player's head is turned, they might not have a choice. No offence to Leicester City, but you're not the sort of club that would turn Ings' head. If it was just about money, he would have signed a new contract with Burnley. He's presumably after an established Premier club, and you're not that.

Babylon Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 If it was just about money, he would have signed a new contract with Burnley. That would presume you actually offered him good money.
justfoxes Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 I think they are waiting for silly money to be offered anything over £15m wait and see they know we have a few quid and they want to get as much as possible for ings which I don't really blame them !!
BlackburnClaret Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 That would presume you actually offered him good money. Well the new offers were certainly good enough for Heaton, Trippier and Arfield to sign new deals, so you would presume so.
cjslcfc Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 Been impressed with him to be honest. Not sure he'd want to come or they'd want to sell though. For him it doesn't seem like a sensible move either. A very unlikely move IMO.
Babylon Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 Well the new offers were certainly good enough for Heaton, Trippier and Arfield to sign new deals, so you would presume so. None of which are as high profile as Ings, strikers are the most bankable assets and will command much more in wages. Were they all out of contact in the summer as well? I've already said it won't happen anyway as there are too many reasons for it not to.
BlackburnClaret Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 I think Trippier's was running out, the others were extensions.
Babylon Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 I think Trippier's was running out, the others were extensions. I'd Imagine Danny knows he can see it out and easily get an offer from a middle of the road Premier club, with him being worth more the more he scores this season.
ScouseFox Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 Ings is the better goalscorer but we did need an Ulloa type of player. ings is the better goalscorer and ulloa's still scored more this season . 7.5 million for another championship striker would be just admitting defeat.
davieG Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 ings is the better goalscorer and ulloa's still scored more this season . 7.5 million for another championship striker would be just admitting defeat. Or accepting that any decent quality PL or foreign player didn't fancy coming here any more than they did in the Summer.
Spicer Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 Burnley won't sell to a direct survival rival. Plus why would Ings join us? Burnley are doing better than us and he should aim for at least an established mid table team. Although I would take him happily, I really don't see it happening.
BlackburnClaret Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 ings is the better goalscorer and ulloa's still scored more this season . 7.5 million for another championship striker would be just admitting defeat. But he's not though, is he?
dsr-burnley Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 And neither are you, so expect to lose him. We do expect to lose him. But not in January, and not to Leicester City.
whitlock Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 We do expect to lose him. But not in January, and not to Leicester City. It would be funny though. #PoundNotes
BlackburnClaret Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 It would be funny though. #PoundNotes If you were 5 years old.
tylesta Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 Well the new offers were certainly good enough for Heaton, Trippier and Arfield to sign new deals, so you would presume so. Who?
foxfanazer Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 Is anyone surprised? Pearsons knowledge doesn't go beyond the championship. Pointless even bidding as they won't sell to us and he shouldn't leave for us either if he has any sense.Ings is a premier league player mate
Soar Fox Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 ings is the better goalscorer and ulloa's still scored more this season . 7.5 million for another championship striker would be just admitting defeat. Who scored more last season kid? Ulloa or Ings?
AKCJ Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 But he's not though, is he? He's scored 4 in 16 Premier League games. If he was a Premier League quality player he'd have a better record than 1 in 4.
filbertway Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 Ings has had 42 shots this season compared to Ulloa's 24 shots and has played 3 games less. Either Burnley are creating a load of chances for him, or Ings is brilliant at creating chances for himself. For the record, I'd take Ings over any of our forwards.
AKCJ Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 Who scored more last season kid? Ulloa or Ings? Ulloa scored a goal every 0.42 games. Ings scored every 0.57 games. So it's marginal, and considering Ings didn't miss 4 months through injury there really isn't much in it. Ings has had 42 shots this season compared to Ulloa's 24 shots and has played 3 games less. Either Burnley are creating a load of chances for him, or Ings is brilliant at creating chances for himself. For the record, I'd take Ings over any of our forwards. Ings has had 42 shots and has scored 4 goals yet you'd take him over Ulloa who has had 24 shots and has scored 6 goals? Am I missing something?
BlackburnClaret Posted 24 December 2014 Posted 24 December 2014 He's scored 4 in 16 Premier League games. If he was a Premier League quality player he'd have a better record than 1 in 4. I think you missed what I said. He IS a Premier League player, and any of your warped logic can't alter that fact. Ok, you don't think he's good enough fine, but if you honestly think you could do better, you're deluded.
