We went last April and it pissed it down most days!!!

Lovely place when it doesnt rain though!!

Walk along the beach area, loads near the old town, take a day trip out to Sintra on the train its stunning( If it's not fecking pissing it down!!!)

We were lucky to get to Benfica FC and watch a league game.

Lisbon's a great city.

I second the shout on Sintra, fantastic place. Use the trams, good fun and get you around the place well.

I'd do the TimeOut Market just to sample it but in my opinion you get much better food elsewhere.

I’m lying on a beach bed right now in Sal, Cape Verde… first time here…great relaxing holiday

Great to hear, I'll be on my first visit there in another 16 days. Although, Boa Vista rather than Sal.

Back to Cavtat in May. Absolutely loved it last time so can't wait to go back. Might try to include a day trip to Montenegro this time if it's doable

We did Cape Verde a couple of years ago - was really good - it’s a great alternative to The Canaries or Egypt if you just want a packaged beach holiday - although one thing is the sea was too rough to go in being out much more in the middle of the ocean

Family holiday, peak time August, not hot.... and cheap? Demanding punter aren't you, lol

Maybe a Eurocamp holiday (not in a tent tho)  in Brittany close to coast, weather same as UK,  and easyish drive to Nantes or Rennes if you wanted the city aspect

Didn't know which thread to put this in but has anyone used JustPark and parked in supermarket car parks?

Just booked 3 nights in Morrisons Car park in York for £23. Was looking at triple that for all the other car parks I could see. Wanted to do train but as we come home on a Sunday, trains are ****ed and it's rail replacements.

Obviously, normally supermarkets have 2 or 3 hour limits. Am I going to come back to a hefty ticket, or is it legit?

Can cancel up to 24 hours before so thought I'd book it and then research the legitimacy afterwards.

I know people who use these apps for football trips etc but paranoid with it being multi day stay. Any horror stories?

Not used JustPark but I've used YourParkingSpace as others have noted, never had any issues.

Parked on someone's drive for a week whilst we were in Portugal within walking distance of the airport too, nearly 200 quid for the airport and paid 24 quid for the week on the app. I use it all the time when I'm going somewhere I don't know for the weekend, so much cheaper.

Did you book with TUI?  If so, did you get a meal included on the flight. We've just been looking and found 2 different responses on TUI websites.

Yes we went with TUI, got back late last night. No, you don’t get a meal, it’s not classed as long haul.

Cheers. Further googling, and it seems up to about a year ago, there was an exception for Cape Verde, but now it's changed.

Ayup. Want to do something for my 50th end of April, therefore easter week. Thinking of Paris for 4/5 days, can anyone recommend a hotel in Paris or perhaps somewhere i should look at going for a jolly, bearing in mind i have a 14 year old daughter who will be towing along.

We usually stay at Familia hotel in 5th Arrondissement. Pretty cheap, nice enough rooms, and good location. But the rooms are quite small so maybe not great for a family (despite the name).

There are a few good hotels round there though. I like the location very much. Quite calm and far enough from the throngs, but close to some nice parts (le Marais is just over the river, and the Pantheon is just up the road) Has a good vibe with it being the Latin Quarter, there are some good bars and restaurants and quite a few students about. Some nice places to eat near there. And good access to the Metro and Gare du Nord.

I absolutely love Paris and you can definitely do 4/5 days there.

Stayed at Atypik Hotel, Clichy, very near to Mairie de Clichy tube station. The area was decent decent cafes and the staff at the hotel were friendly . Rooms weren't big but in my experience Paris hotels all have small rooms.

@Raj We're back from our week in Marrakech, and we loved it so much we've booked to go back again for 3 nights on 24th March to do the things we didn't get a chance to do lol We're lucky it's a short and cheap flight from here in Spain! This week we had my teenage daughter with us so we stayed on the outskirts in an apartment, but when we go back my husband and I have booked a riad in the medina, two completely different experiences.

We hired a car cheaply but also used the very cheap taxis easily, they are everywhere. We went quad biking, visited most of the main sights, did a trip out to a desert camp for dinner, and my husband and daughter went on a sunrise hot air balloon trip, and we'd recommend them all.

We absolutely loved the vibrancy and general chaos of it all, the souks are amazing and everyone is so lovely. You will have a great time :)

Loved it so much your going back in 3 weeks!!🤣🤣👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Thanks Debs sounds brilliant!

I will do your head in with questions before we book  dont worry 😁😁👍🏾

Yeah, gotta echo the comment about room sizes. You've got to REALLY splash out (like.London) to get anywhere remotely spacious....I'd personally check Airbnb.

That said, yeah, ol' gay Paris is just another best city in the world for going for a stroll,. stopping at literally any bar or brasserie, and just taking in vibes

Fukin'el Deb i am jealous!  The plus of living in Europe is foreign countries are like 1 or 2 hours away.   Over here, an hour takes me to basically America (never going there with the current political climate) or northern fukin ontario/ottawa/Montreal.  Sigh.

Enjoy your trip Raj! Think I need to head over there too!

That’s fantastic, don’t forget to take a look at the Jardin Majorelle, not sure what it’s like this time of year but in high summer it’s an amazing place, really calming and peaceful,10 degrees cooler than everywhere outside. Home to many endemic birds (if that interests you). There’s also the Berber museum attached to the same building which is really interesting.
Have fun 👍
