Sani beach near Thessaloniki for a week this Sunday, weather looks to be ticking up after some shocking rain across Greece in recent weeks. We went last year and it's top drawer.

Out in Thailand right now and the songkran festival is crazy. Lots of fun though. Went to the temple where vichai was cremated and as it was mainly closed a monk took pity on me and gave me quite the tour, he too was a leicester fan. I was even blessed while I was there. Very spiritual. I asked if he could pray for the team and he said with smile it was beyond that. He knew we drew the day before. Also said Vichai made large donations to the temple to aid teaching monks.

Thats really cool

Currently melting in Disney theme parks in Florida. Can't work out if this is heaven or hell.

Yes to both. One of the busiest times of the year to visit…week before and week after Easter…Wife is a Disney regular who’s forgotten more about the theme parks than I’d ever care to know. Which resort are you staying at?

Wife's grandparents have a timeshare they never use about 5 mins NE of Disney Springs so not actually in a resort. Nice place actually as has a decent pool etc. for recovery days.

Just been driving to each of the parks. Even though it has been busy, it's not been too bad all things considered. Guess as the kids are 4 and 2 we're not queuing for the most popular rides. Wife being a teacher, and having kids, I've been condemned to to school holiday trips for many years now.

Gimme somewhere really interesting for a week in September.

Will have a one year old and don't want massively touristy but do want decent food, nice sites, relatively laid back.

Not more than a 5 hour flight

Algeria? Normally a pain in the arse but a friend of mine used a tour company that sorted flights and entry.

Oran looks incredible.

There’s plenty of gems hidden throughout that area, but a good pool is a must. As a school employee myself, certainly understand the plight! Most importantly, that’s a great age for your kids to experience it. The joy in their faces provides a welcome distraction from the exorbitant prices.

Oran is on our list for next year. Agreed it looks great, and is supposedly one of the most accepting parts of Algeria. It looks incredibly vibrant and I'm really looking forward to it

How about Normandy, Brittany and Anjou. Can go by train. Laid back and well organized, good food and loads of historic sights obviously.

Sure other parts of France are nice too but those are the ones I've been to.

Tbf with your description you’re ruling out all of Western Europe which I guess is why you said 5hr flight

10 years on from when I visited, had some big holidays since but I think my week in Cavtat tops the lot.

Really enjoyed Stockholm for 4 days. Friday evening flight, left yesterday morning. Extremely lucky with gorgeous weather - perfect with the sunlight hours beginning at 5am, end at 8pm.

It's a city what lacks an outright landmark, so doesn't get itself plastered all over tourism suggestions. While in the process, it probably has more to do than a lot of European capitals. I was just disappointed we didn't get out on the archipelago. A lot to do for children (around Djugardens) while Sodermalm is firmly in that gentrified bracket. Struggle to find a city with so many bars and restaurants seemingly busy all the time - the post work pint hasn't disappeared from Sweden anyway. Two to three areas with very distinctive feels but all of it clean, efficient and low on chaos. Reminded me of Vienna but probably better because it feels some what anglo-led, they have more in common with us (Swedes) than most of Europe.

It helped I had one of the best travel experiences I've ever had watching football but still highly recommend. Understand the concerns about the price but we found ti to be not too far off London prices. There was the occasional expensive beer if you use imported for example but food in restaurants was probably 10% more expensive. Accommodation was difficult to find decent value and you have to be canny getting to Arlanda (the Express is a rip-off when they are traditional trains twice a hour running to Uppsala which stop there at two thirds the price). Would love to go in the summer and get out on the islands. However, I think we got lucky going in April having good weather and tourists were not grabbing every inch of the pavement.

Really want to do Croatia, particularly Cavtat/Dubrovnik area for my 40th birthday next year, but problem is it's in the middle of August :( Is there way of doing it on a reasonable budget?

Edit - I should add, with young kids too....
