cityfanlee23 Posted 1 February 2015 Posted 1 February 2015 My answer to this is Yes,He's the only player we have that consistently puts in decent crosses. However we can't not have mahrez and his jinking movement opening up play.Sorry Jeff, but you need to be rotated with Albrighton.I think Jeff has such potential but he just cannot cross or shoot on target consistently, he's been one of our better performers recently but everytime albrighton has been brought on the pitch he's changed the game or atleast taken the team up a notch, and somebody needs to drop for him to play.I really don't know what more this guy can do before he's given a chance, we are treating him the same as villa at the moment. He played well yesterday and his assist was top draw at a hard angleKramaric and Nugent upfront,Albrighton and mahrez on the wings.Thoughts? Should he be starting? Who gets dropped for him if you think he should?
Larry_LCFC Posted 1 February 2015 Posted 1 February 2015 I want to see them both in the team. Mahrez and Albrighton are probably our most consistent and creative players. I will personally hunt NP down if he benches them both.

I think we need to play a 4-4-2 unless we get a quality attacking midfielder in I think failing that Nugent would be better suited as a partner for kramaric

eye666 Posted 1 February 2015 Posted 1 February 2015 Schlupp left back, Mahrez left wing, Albrighton right wing. Pace, flair and technique.
cityfanlee23 Posted 1 February 2015 Author Posted 1 February 2015 So are you dropping our top goalscorer and most potent aerial threat and playing Albrighton? If we are to get the best out of Kramaric yeah, I'm not really fussed if Nugent or ulloa play to be honest, Just think Nugent would suit him better, ulloa is notmally out of position unless he's in the box, in the box his instinct is top draw, but elsewhere he doesn't really do much IMO, However this could be due to the midfield not being creative enough
Mark_w Posted 1 February 2015 Posted 1 February 2015 Mahrez and Schlupp should really be our first choice wingers, they've both done very well so far this season.
cityfanlee23 Posted 1 February 2015 Author Posted 1 February 2015 Mahrez and Schlupp should really be our first choice wingers, they've both done very well so far this season. Agree they've both done well, But Jeff needs work and is still a rough diamond, the amount of times I've had my head in my hands with one of his shots or crosses, or his galloping runs forward with no clue what to do next is frustrating... He's similar to Neil Warnocks view on bolasie, difficult to mark because even he doesn't know what to do next let alone the defenders, Unfortunately he disappoints more times than his glimmer of Magic he produces! Albeit he's produced some brilliant moments this season but we would create so much more if he sorted his game out in his head

I'd play three in the middle next week with James, Hammond and Cambiasso and have a front three of Schlupp, Ulloa and Albrighton (the lads surely done enough to earn a start now). Mahrez and Kramaric on the bench as options. We need to compete physically in the middle of the park next week and we'll definitely need Ulloa's aerial power. I think it will take time for Kramaric and Ulloa to build an understanding.
cityfanlee23 Posted 1 February 2015 Author Posted 1 February 2015 Schlupp left back, Mahrez left wing, Albrighton right wing. Pace, flair and technique. I'd almost agree, although Jeff has recently come out and said he's found his position, and as a left back I'm not convinced, happy with De Laet at left back, it's difficult when your best players are your wingers and results haven't been consistent throughout the season, because players need to get dropped that normally wouldn't deserve it! Would like to see albrighton get a decent chance as he changes games and had done a lot of times for us
LCCFox96 Posted 1 February 2015 Posted 1 February 2015 No not over Mahrez. Schlupp also justifiably keeps him out of team on merit imo. But as for Vardy, a struggling, out of form striker, keeping a premiership proven right winger out of his natural position, now that begs belief! Albrighton (or even Knockaert) should certainly be starting until Mahrez is back!
LCFC FOX Posted 1 February 2015 Posted 1 February 2015 Hamer De Laet Wasyl Upson Huth Schlupp Hammond Cambiasso Albrighton Kramavic/Ulloa Mahrez
Kitchandro Posted 1 February 2015 Posted 1 February 2015 When does he return? Albrighton is more deserving of a starting place than anyone at the moment since he's the player most in form. If Mahrez was back tomorrow I'd be questioning whether he, Schlupp or Knockaert should start. It seems our wingers are all coming into form whilst almost everyone else is out of it.
Devonfox1884 Posted 1 February 2015 Posted 1 February 2015 Hamer De Laet Wasyl Upson Huth Schlupp Hammond Cambiasso Albrighton Kramavic/Ulloa Mahrez That team could have serious potential, great shout. Intersted to know why Upson is in over Morgan though, he's not been great, bit he's not been bad either. Was, Huth and Wes as our 3 CB's would be very, very good. I don't know weather nige would be brave enough to try it though...
GingerrrFox Posted 1 February 2015 Posted 1 February 2015 He can't get in the ****ing starting team now over Sheffield Shithouse so he's got no chance when Golden Boots Mahrez gets back. Mahrez is twice the player Albrighton is.

For me that sums it up, it's a difficult decision for nige I expect however his decision to keep vardy on the wing is laughable... For me that 5m for vardy was an exceptional bid and we should have been begging pulis to reconsider his bid and come in again for him... Because unfortunately I just don't think he Adds enough, he huffs and puffs but I'm not sure I've seen him really create much. Ulloa constantly has to drop back because our midfield and to some extent our defence simply cannot cope (Kramaric yesterday for example) If our midfield and defence were good enough Kramaric wouldn't have to drop back to that position to try and tackle, how do we expect to hit anyone on the break if we've got nobody up there?? Huth needs to get in ASAP, I'd drop Wes, get Dorrans in and play him with Hammond. Hammond breaks up play better than anyone we have, Dorrans has that attacking nature aswell as being a decent battling CM, Then I think we can rely on that spine being stronger and can get more creative for the attackers. Until then it's a real headache for fans aswell as the club because we simply cannot rely on anyone at the moment until that core is reliable enough to play how we want, teams can play us easily just by pressing, because we just fall out of position and crumble, whether that's lack of belief in eachother or its being trained im not sure. But we need to change quick and start supporting our attackers!!

Mahrez is twice the player Albrighton is. I'd put that down to the manager to be honest... Albrighton can play both wings by the way....
kingfox Posted 1 February 2015 Posted 1 February 2015 Good question to ask Lee, far better than any of your recent posts where you've said Drinkwater is better than James But to the question, Mahrez is far more exciting to watch when on form, than Albrighton when he is at his best. With Albrighton though you will get more direct runs, and much better crosses which plays to Ulloa's advantage, the thought of Albrighton whipping in crosses for Ulloa excites me. Fans are also saying why not go back to three in midfield, if that's the case do you play 4-5-1/4-3-3, potentially leaving out the likes of Kramaric & Nugent, or go with a diamond four again which means playing without wingers. In my opinion I think we are far more dangerous with wingers, and with the players we have 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1 are the best formations to play, if we do go with three in midfield then the lone striker has to be Ulloa. In a 4-4-2/4-2-3-1 formation I'd go with Mahrez and Schlupp, if we play with a midfield three then Albrighton and Schlupp. Stick Jeff to the wing, he has found his best position there, get a new LB and put De Laet back at RB, he isn't a natural LB and for Norwich he was quite poor when played in that position.
lgfualol Posted 1 February 2015 Posted 1 February 2015 Mahrez should get straight back in the squad. He actually passes along the floor and tries to create.
cjslcfc Posted 1 February 2015 Posted 1 February 2015 Mahrez is straight back in but we could play him on the left and Albrighton on the right. Don't know what Albrighton has to do to get a chance but if he doesn't now then he certainly won't when Mahrez gets back. Schlupp, despite his faults, is a real asset and threat on the left and I wouldn't want to move him from there. I know this is off topic but WE NEED A LEFT BACK
sdb Posted 1 February 2015 Posted 1 February 2015 I'd go 451 with Schlupp on the left, Albrighton on the right and Mahrez behind Ulloa. Kramaric not ready yet and Vardy/Nugent better off the bench. James and Cambiasso CM's unless someone new comes in (not looking likely).
AKCJ Posted 1 February 2015 Posted 1 February 2015 He doesn't get in ahead of Mahrez or Schlupp. Anyone who thinks he does because he can cross is absolutely mental.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 1 February 2015 Posted 1 February 2015 Mahrez straight back in to the 11 and staying there for me, whoever it is that makes way, I'd stick with Schlupp and Mahrez if we play 2 wingers.
