MC Prussian Posted 5 February 2015 Posted 5 February 2015 Is this the same Mat Hummels who plays centre back in a team currently sitting bottom of the Bundesliga, utterly devoid of confidence and who has one of the worst records, currently, in top flight European football? Is he playing, or injured? Dortmund are actually at major risk of being relegated. They're about as much relegation-threatened as we are. Probably even less so, since only two teams go straight down at the end of a season, the third-worst team enters a two-robin playout round. Fifteen games to go, two points off the safety zone. Major risk my ****.

MC Prussian Posted 5 February 2015 Posted 5 February 2015 The point remains. He can't be THAT good can he? Dortmund are having an awful season. Do you usually base your opinion on half a season and tend to ignore the remaining five? This bears striking rsemblance to your Cambiasso/Lee ****ing Cattermole argument. You single out one player and ignore the fact football still is a team effort, crowned by moments of individual brilliance. Just because Dortmund as a team are having a tough season doesn't make Hummels bad out of a sudden.
Guest Col city fan Posted 5 February 2015 Posted 5 February 2015 Do you usually base your opinion on half a season and tend to ignore the remaining five? No I dont. I'm also questioning your opinion on a player who is pretty much ever present in a side that is leaking goals. Hummels has always looked good. This season, definitely not so.

Hummels has always looked good. This season, definitely not so. The problem with Dortmund isn't the back four - there's seven teams who have let in more or much more goals than the BVB.They can't create and the strikers are having troubles finding the net. Reminds me a bit of Leicester City FC.

You know more about German football than I do, so I'll accept that. Your insights into German and Swiss football are always welcome.
Dan Posted 5 February 2015 Posted 5 February 2015 dan lcfc you are not a konchesky fan what about the other 10 players on the pitch when we have lost; you have always spoken bollocks and always will so go **** yourself along with owen bye Yeah obviously if it wasn't for Konchesky we'd be top of the league, you nonce.
Haydos Posted 5 February 2015 Posted 5 February 2015 No I dont. I'm also questioning your opinion on a player who is pretty much ever present in a side that is leaking goals. This bottom of the table argument has absolutely no legs in this scenario col
Torten Posted 5 February 2015 Posted 5 February 2015 Lawro's "This is a big game for Leicester, who can close to within three points of 13th-placed Palace if they win, and the Foxes know they have to stay in touch with the teams above them. I expected Leicester to do better than they have done this season, and I do not see them getting cut adrift now. They are not that bad a side. Lawro's prediction: 2-1 John's prediction: 1-0 " At least some pundits are giving us a chance..
DennisNedry Posted 5 February 2015 Posted 5 February 2015 I always look at Lawro's predictions and he's usually about right with us. He's one of my favourite pundits, the dry sarcasm makes for much better listening than gorms like Shearer or Owen who think they actually have something to offer in terms of analysis.
shailen Posted 5 February 2015 Posted 5 February 2015 Hes actually been really favourable to us in most games. Think a lot of pundits just blindly think that we are the worst team because we are bottom. If this is the case after 38 games, fair enough, but don't react to results but performances. Having said that the last two performances have been poor.

Walshy5 Posted 5 February 2015 Posted 5 February 2015 He said we'd beat stoke 2-1 and look what happened there.

Having said that the last two performances have been poor. He hasn't been favourable to us at all. If you look at the table at the bottom, if we had got the points he predicted us to get, we'd be sat on 15 and not 17. He says we are not a bad side, but we are still a side he thought would only pick up 15 points so far this season.
lgfualol Posted 5 February 2015 Posted 5 February 2015 Every time he predicts a win I think we have lost
Jobyfox Posted 5 February 2015 Posted 5 February 2015 He hasn't been favourable to us at all. So he predicted we'd get 15 points - and we've got 17 - that's pretty accurate I'd say.

Guest kristianity77 Posted 6 February 2015 Posted 6 February 2015 He is only two points off... that isn't too bad I would say... No I know its pretty accurate, but to say a side aren't that bad but to have only predicted them to have had 15 points from the first 23 games is a bit contradictory no?
foxes_rule1978 Posted 6 February 2015 Posted 6 February 2015 No I know its pretty accurate, but to say a side aren't that bad but to have only predicted them to have had 15 points from the first 23 games is a bit contradictory no?it depends, he has seen what is fact, that has a team we have improved and are starting to look like a very capable side in this league.
Rhysm Posted 6 February 2015 Posted 6 February 2015 Well you really stuck your neck out with that one Michael. Predicting that the team who are bottom half way through the season would go down... What is it with these bbc pundits? I don t care what he says about lcfc, but could they not have found one with more charisma then him? In fact you would probably struggle to find one with any less. You can taking boring if he says something really inciteful too but he just speaks in boring cliches. More license money wasted!
The Year Of The Fox Posted 6 February 2015 Posted 6 February 2015 To be fair if there's one person who knows what showing early promise followed by a much longer period of crap, turgid performances looks like, then it's Michael Owen. lol So true!
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 6 February 2015 Posted 6 February 2015 This is why pundits ger paid so much, only people with their superior knowledge could predict a team sitting bottom of the league look like their going down.
Newcastle_Fox Posted 6 February 2015 Posted 6 February 2015 Savage the latest one to say we are down: http://bbc.in/1EL3Ra1
Fox92 Posted 6 February 2015 Posted 6 February 2015 Tbf who cares what pundits say. They are wrong most of the time. I'm not bothered if they say we will lose, win, stay up or get relegated. I respect them for being top players in their day - some of them anyway - but what most of them say now, as a pundit, I take with a pinch of salt. There's the odd pundit that I could listen to regular - Carragher, Neville know their stuff - but that's it.
