DB11 Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 Well of course it looks like we are going down. We are bottom of the league. It also looks like Chelsea will win the league and that Southampton will get a Champions League spot
Guest Col city fan Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 To be fair to Owen he said we'd be going down at the start of the season so why would he change now when we're bottom? We're bottom of the league and have, at times, looked clueless. I take absolutely no issue with people predicting our relegation. No, same here. I don't think we will go down, but you can more than see why people think we will. Owen will be slated on here, surprise surprise, but you can't blame him for predicting it.
MooseBreath Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 To be fair if there's one person who knows what showing early promise followed by a much longer period of crap, turgid performances looks like, then it's Michael Owen.
Tom's Pasta Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 I'm starting to get bored with interviews/ punditry around football now, you can almost predict what they're going to say. It's just full of cliches and stating the obvious. I'd rather just watch the games and make my own mind up rather than listen to the tired use of footballisms.
Dan Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 To be fair to Owen he said we'd be going down at the start of the season so why would he change now when we're bottom? We're bottom of the league and have, at times, looked clueless. I take absolutely no issue with people predicting our relegation. Nor me. If Villa, Hull or Burnley turn in those two performances against Stoke/Man Utd we'd all be saying they look certs for the drop. It annoyed me when we got stick in pre-season and I still think it was a bit of a lucky guess.
MC Prussian Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 My favourite Michael Owen commentary quotes “What a feeling it is to be a manager and bring someone on.” “It’s a good run but it’s a poor run, if you know what I mean?” “It’s a nightmare for strikers when defences push up. You’ve got to go with them or you’re offside.” “Wenger will be quite happy that Arsenal haven’t conceded”. Yep, probably. With Liverpool launching a counter-attack against Arsenal: “They’re outswarming them!”. “Pellegrini will speak to them and City will come out with a fresh set of impetus.” “That’s simple as…simple”. “To stay in the game, you have to stay in the game”. You have to believe your own eyes, don’t you?” After Chelsea scored their sixth goal against Arsenal: “This is turning into a rout.” “That would’ve been a goal had it gone inside the post.” “You need people who score goals. That’s how you win games”. Michael Own roams in John Madden territory in terms of commentary value.
Matt Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 Looks like we are....without a fight with this team aswell.

No problem with pundits predicting we go down but **** me, a bit of insight wouldnt go amiss seeing as its their job.
Fox 4 Life Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 A boring pundit cannot appreciate an exciting hardworking team Burnley?!
Callabinho Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 Can I remind you all that this article is written by a man who said this "he has been hit in the facial part of the head"........
Unabomber Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 Can I remind you all that this article is written by a man who said this "he has been hit in the facial part of the head"........ Can I remind you Scooby Doo.
Callabinho Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 Can I remind you Scooby Doo. Ah yes! Very valid point!!!!
Kitchandro Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 Sorry guys, but we are bottom and do look the most likely to go down. We do show flashes of our potential but a lot of the time we look absolute dog turd. You could argue we were showing 'signs of improvement' at one point but the last 2 games have nipped that in the bud because we've been awful again. The Stoke result was a big blow. I was extremely annoyed when pundits said we were going down at the start of the season and QPR weren't, for example, we didn't and don't have the worst squad in the league, but now it's fair to say we're in big trouble.
Vossen Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 Yep...we have a very good Championship side with no Premiere league experience, especially at the back...Wes & Was are Bloody crap...konch hashad his day & big Nige replaces like with llike... Give some of our youth a go...
leicesterlad1989 Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 Yep...we have a very good Championship side with no Premiere league experience, especially at the back...Wes & Was are Bloody crap...konch hashad his day & big Nige replaces like with llike... Give some of our youth a go... A very contradicting statement. You say we are a team without premier league experience yet you want us to try youth?
Cat Burger Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 The bit that says 'doom and gloom', those are not Owen's words are they? It's the bloke who wrote the article with the quote from Owen saying we'll go down. There's nothing controversial about that seeing as we're bottom.
Kent Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 We're actually third favourite to go down when I looked the other day so the bookies obviously don't agree that we're the 'worst team in the league'.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 Love how shirty we all get when pundits predict we probably will go down. We're bottom and three sides have to drop.
Fox92 Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 Love how shirty we all get when pundits predict we probably will go down. We're bottom and three sides have to drop. I know, that's what I was getting at. We all predict relegation and it seems fine yet when a pundit does it it's wrong.
Dan Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 Yep...we have a very good Championship side with no Premiere league experience, especially at the back...Wes & Was are Bloody crap...konch hashad his day & big Nige replaces like with llike... Give some of our youth a go... I'm still not convinced even now that experience is our problem - considering it's often been the likes of Konchesky for example who have let us down yet Mahrez, absolutely no top flight experience in any country, has looked our best player. We have failed as a lot of pundits said we would but not for the reasons they've said I don't think. It's hard to really pinpoint just one problem for our struggles.
Finnegan Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 Bit rich coming from me when I previously said they were doomed, but claiming burnley are a shoe to go down when they're battling bravely and Villa and Hull are making a right bollocks of it is stupid. What have Burnley got to do?
ScouseFox Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 Bit rich coming from me when I previously said they were doomed, but claiming burnley are a shoe to go down when they're battling bravely and Villa and Hull are making a right bollocks of it is stupid. What have Burnley got to do? sign someone good get a less annoying manager stop bringing juke off the bench beat someone actually decent stop crying about everything for a bit and most of all stay up. probs.
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 Every pundit as predicted Leicester will go down and it's starting to get a bit annoying. Why is it annoying? Do people really care that much what pundits say?
