Spicer Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 Nigel did have a jibe at MOTD and Gary responded. What did Nigel think would happen? He has just drawn more attention to himself at a time where we really don't want it, stupid thing to do.
GingerrrFox Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 Lineker's tweet didn't seem particularly serious to me, the "he can look after himself" bit is obviously a bit piss-takey Oh yeah "banter". People mocking Nigel for saying he can look after himself are the same ones who would shit it if they got in a confrontation with him. Lineker can mock all he wants on twitter but he wouldn't say anything to his face. Nigel is a right tasty ****er, why do you think Pardew said nothing on Saturday? Because he wanted none of Nigel because he is and was a straight up bloke who doesn't suffer fools gladly.
Stadt Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 The second tweet is the more interesting one. We've not heard anything to suggest that's true, I'm sure Gary isn't particularly privy to what the owners do.
AKCJ Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 Paddy Power @paddypower 55m55 minutes ago Nigel Pearson has begun his press conference by putting the Sky Sports Reporter in a Boston Crab.

He has just drawn more attention to himself at a time where we really don't want it, stupid thing to do. MOTD were clowns and Nige rightly defended himself. Gary then tried to have the last say, being a bit weird about it. Before then wildly accusing the club of not being able to work coherently. Gary shouldn't have even responded.
MHC Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 How on earth people can take Nigel bleeding Pearson's side over Gary Lineker's is outrageous. You people are deluded, apart from Nigel achieving exactly what has been expected of him he has failed to over achieve in any aspect of his job and this legendary status he has amongst some fans is embarrassing and totally unjustified.
5waller5 Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 I can't actually believe what's going on!!!! Mr Strangles getting fired and then suddenly not. Mrs Not So All Bright On Twitter saying she's glad!! Now Mr Nice wading in with the conspiracy theories!!!! It's been an interesting 36 hours (not including the actual game).
Corky Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 Don't have a problem with Lineker's comments, Pearson specifically mentioned his show and included him so he has the right of reply.

Surely you should only take sides on who you believe is in the right? No point taking sides blindly just on the basis of club loyalty.
ousefox Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 Lineker will be another one he refuses to talk to in the after match interviews he sometimes does
shade Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 i lost a fair bit of respect for gary when he pimped his newfound fame to pull a young piece of fluff, its weird and creepy. he's now firmly in the same group as hugh heffner and steven fry with me, creeeeeeepy old men.
GingerrrFox Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 Or because there was nothing to say?? This is Alan Pardew we are talking about, the man always has something to say, he's got previous for getting involved in touch line spats and he's even head butted a player before. He looked like a scared puppy when Nigel stared him down on Saturday after the McArthur incident.
l444ry Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 This is becoming laughable. It's Dorsett to blame, It's Sky, Murdoch, Stringer, Radio Leicester, all the National Newspapers, Lineker, Radio 5 Live. Not one little bit of blame on the protagonist himself. Not a shred of truth in any of it. He wasn't sacked. It's all lies! The Pearson Religious Cult has spoken.
lcfcsnow Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 Lineker will be another one he refuses to talk to in the after match interviews he sometimes does They'll be no one left soon that he's willing to talk to and people will still take his side.
Merging Cultures Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 Forget twitter how has the Press conference gone?
ousefox Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 We've not heard anything to suggest that's true, I'm sure Gary isn't particularly privy to what the owners do. I'm sure he has contacts who know a bit. Seems an odd thing to bother bringing up in half jokey way.

He looked like a scared puppy when Nigel stared him down on Saturday after the McArthur incident. I think because of that history and because he's at a new club trying to turn a new leaf I'd suspect he wouldn't get involved. Anyway ... It all looked a harmless joke when he did come over so he went away ... only then did it turn a bit.
Bettsj2 Posted 9 February 2015 Posted 9 February 2015 Surely you should only take sides on who you believe is in the right? No point taking sides blindly just on the basis of club loyalty. This. And in this situation, they're both to blame. If there was nothing in the incident, Pearson should just shrug it off and not even mention MOTD. Having said that, GL's first tweet was harmless. The 2nd (if it has any basis of truth) is irresponsible to say the least. He's a lifetime director of the club and should remember that.

He didn't start any rumours surrounding him losing his job and he never speaks about club business to the media. They are all hounding him and as usual he hasn't given them an ounce of material to work with. He's not a media darling so they are out to get him.
