NP's Press Conference - 14.30 GMT

Well Lineker just dropped a bombshell.

I wish people would act in a more professional manner and don't abuse today's media channels for making them appear ITK.

I respect Gary, but there is no need for that right now. Chances are he's going to be dragged down to gutter level himself.

Sometimes, it's better to keep informations like that to yourself.

NP is not comfortable in a media situation, to me, he always appears irritated by the questions asked, not just todays! Stringer has gotten under his skin and I can fully understand that, what some have described as arrogant I believe is guarded and uncomfortable. I think he handled press conference today in the best way possible. Yesterdays strange sequence of events will always leave more questions than answers. I personally hope this debacle galvanises the management and team.

And how would he know that?

No-one else has suggested that might be the case - the Dorsetts, the Stringers, the Percys - the people who have their finger on the pulse. Why would someone who isn't anywhere near as involved in finding these things out know before any of them?

I'm highly sceptical.

EDIT: Oh, and he's a cvnt for saying that. Always liked Gary but making a comment like that in order to show off/defend MOTD against Pearson's 'dig' is incredibly selfish.

Very highly doubt that Stringer has got under his skin. Maybe one of Murdoch's lot but not Stringer.

I can't be the only one that saw Lineker's tweet as a light hearted defusing.

how can you read it as that? unless he read that thread on here and is referencing that.

He's joking, surely?

he always says what he wants by joking

bottom line is whoever made a hasty decision was overuled

so NP will probably stay until the season is defined

Don't be a twat Gary, Nige is right.

MOTD were on shit stirring duty, as per, on Saturday. It was unnecessary to look at it more than once. Yes it was 'weird' but that's really as far as it went. Absolute nothing story and complete mountain/molehill situation.

They are journalists (in a very loose sense of the word). They analyse controversial incidents (again, very loosely!). If there's a dubious booking they'll go over it again and again, let alone a very bizarre incident like the one with McArthur. Pearson should be treading more carefully than Lineker bearing in mind their respective jobs.

Just seen his second tweet. Gone down in my estimations fairly dramatically there.

Would rather get more retweets than keep quiet in the interests of the club. He's let himself down.

Oh dear - Nigel didn't have to poke MOTD and Gary didn't have to tweet that. Nigel startwd t though.

There is no doubt some truth in what Gary tweeted. Sacked by Vichai and re instated by top when no one would take charge on Tuesday

Lineker's tweet didn't seem particularly serious to me, the "he can look after himself" bit is obviously a bit piss-takey

What I meant Lionator is the irritation of previously having to d/w him, obviously he did, because he now refuses to be interviewed by him!

The second tweet is the more interesting one.
