Yes he shouldn't have said it. I agree. But he wouldn't have done so. He'd have said nothing if he didn't feel provoked. That's what I'm saying.

I don't think that's any sort of excuse. This isn't the playground (well, maybe it is...)

Alf had it right. He could (and should) have responded on the fountains of knowledge quote in particular.

I'm a Pearson fan..... But he tries to be too clever - too cryptic and digs a bigger hole.

Did McArthur say something along the lines of:

"Thank fuxk I didn't sign for you lot?

Might explain the awfully long shirt grab....

A win tomorrow would sooth things over.....

Blue Army etc....

That's the problem. They don't know what a good manager is like.

And it isn't their fault. They were born and raised in the worst decade for the club since the war. I'm sure they'd have loved to have seen Gillies, Bloomfield, Wallace, O'Neill but it wasn't possible.

How on earth people can take Nigel bleeding Pearson's side over Gary Lineker's is outrageous. You people are deluded, apart from Nigel achieving exactly what has been expected of him he has failed to over achieve in any aspect of his job and this legendary status he has amongst some fans is embarrassing and totally unjustified.

So you think Lineker has helped the situation.Made himself look a childish Pratt.

And you're being absurd - You claimed it was obvious he was sacked, Harry asked for evidence, you've refused to supply it and are no claiming he missed your point. So go on, explain why - is this one of these post-modernist ironic statements that is supposed to be funny despite containing no humour what so ever.

Can you provide the evidence he wasn't? No, of course, but something is missing from the puzzle, and he MIGHT be right.

Who are we to argue with the legend that is Lineker!? Nobody wants to see this!

The legend that fooked off to Everton at the first opportunity? Then once he'd made his millions slipped the City a few quid? That legend?

I reckon so. The shirt pulling part definitely had something to do with what was said!

I never said it was, did I?  Had they been that lucky, they would realize just how ordinary Pearson is.

Don't forget Frank O' Farrell.

If you say so. Everything is a mirage. NP has denied it in several interviews when asked. Sounds like you're in denial as well.

So, you know that nigel was sacked despite him saying he wasn't and despite nigel is not a man who will let himself be messed around (see post 09/10) - but you won't (can't?) provide the evidence. Only one person is deluded/in denial here and it's you.

I don't think Lineker was picking fights with anyone. He's a pundit on a football programme. That's his job and he said it how he saw it. I agreed. Especially the grabbing hold of the shirt bit.

So there was no 'fight', there was an opinion, from a pundit first and foremost and a City fan.

Pearson's words "I can look after myself" were also strange. What did this imply?

I've been listening to the radio a lot today and I've not heard a single person state that there was nothing in it. They've also pretty much said Nige has been daft in not explaining himself.

But Lineker picked no fight at all. Pearson retaliated in a childish way really and again, he's picking the wrong people to do so with.

I rend to agree. Pearson is acting strangely, and even appears a tad sulky.

Just, wow. Wtf.

I think the transcript reveals a lot more than the quotes picked out by various media outlets.

But the media aren't interested in full transcripts. Nothing new on that front.

Lazy attitude breeds lazy journalism breeds collateral damage.

Yet more crap from you, been going down since the Bloomfield era so think i can offer an opinion on managers and the suggestion by anyone that thinks Adams did a better job than Pearson really needs to do their homework.Alternatively maybe they did not see a lot of the Adams games, armchair fans like yourself probably. But in your deluded world even Taylor/Pleat/Holloway etc would be deemed better than Pearson.

Dear me, you're a grumpy baby boy.

You're one of the most odious characters on this forum. I can usually put up with you but patronising people because you disagree with what they say is just ridiculous.

very worrying when gary lineker Leicester born and bred..fan..player for club and country gets criticised...appears that pearson really can do no wrong

See where this is going? Fans in defending their idol shocker.

Lineker did a lot for club and country, but also choose to aspire to bigger and better things in his career. He's undoubtedly helped saving the institution that allowed him to prosper, but that doesn't exclude him from criticism.

Looking back, I can't say it was a wise decision to tweet that quickly. Probably a "heat of a moment" action, I do hope he's not regretting it.

It does leave a bitter aftertaste, though. Because it doesn't strike me as truly funny reprise, even if it was intentionally humorous. Let's get it straight: He was dead serious.

But what he fails to acknowledge is that no one is holier than the club, not even Lineker. He's working for the BBC and ought to be on the neutral side.

He's human after all with his passion, and thus prone to error. Just like Pearson.

Dangerous Tiger..did I really read your post earlier today? Last night you said 'Thank God he's going'..today you said I'm happy he's staying..

Did I read that right and if so, why the change of opinion overnight?

Dear me! Tut. tut! tut!

Still the same patronising comments when you are losing the arguments.

It's the fountain of knowledge quote that's wrong and shows disrespect to people who are just offering an opinion on a talking point. No issue if he just said he feels MOTD have made a mountain of a molehill. No need for the dig.

He's not the first manager to criticise pundits though, didn't mourinho say something similar recently?
