Babylon Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 But they are exceptions to the rule. And it's a little disheartening to think Pearson should aspire to be as good as Bruce or Peter Reid. They are exceptions to the rule because it barely ever happens that a man takes a team up, takes them down and stays with them afterwards. How often has it happened in recent years? Comments like this make it easy to know whose comments to completely ignore Yeah but he's only JUST becoming a hater.
Babylon Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 Because Pearson is Mr Leicester city, and is the only manager in the world who could get us promoted, ever !!!!!!!!!! Stop being a prat.... the bloke asked for reasons as to why Pearson should lead us next season, people have answered. I knew it would turn into this and that's exactly why I added the very last line to my first post in this thread. Pearson has faults, I know what they are... but he asked for reasons for and not against.
Izzy muzzit Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 No side to have acrued 100+ points have ever been relegated in their first season. Point not vindicated. Sh*t if we had only drawn more games then we would have fallen into that third who have! I never mentioned the points kid, just the fact that it is expected for newly promoted teams to be 'likely' to be relegated.
hackneyfox Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 In comparison to??? Man City? Chelsea? For other teams who have been promoted before Its usually the case...hence why newly promoted teams are always the bookies favorite to go back down In comparison to everyone above us which in case you hadn't noticed is everyone.Teams that have only won 4 have drawn more games.

Collibosher70 Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 This is a joke, right?? A team finishing with the 2nd highest points tally in championship history had nothing to do with the manager? I can understand why a certain proportion of the fanbase have started to turn on Pearson but it saddens me thinking of those fans who have never liked NP and always wanted him to fail who are now all surfacing. Not sure I agree either...finishing second was down to Pearson picking the team...just the same as he has picked the team this season which is bottom
Webbo Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 I'm not a hater, I desperately want Nige to succeed but there's no getting away from this season's been a disaster, and if last season's success was all down to Nige then this season's failure has to be down to him too. Some of the defenders of Pearson are being a little hysterical and being just as ridiculous and offensive as the haters. There is just as much evidence that Pearson would fail next season as not. Condemning people who want him gone makes you look a little silly imo.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 If we get rid we'll probably find ourselves in a transition next season, considering the lack of patience from our fans I don't think that would be wise. There's no guarantee Pearson will keep us up, but with the alternatives and the foundation he's built here it would be stupid to let go just for the sake of relegation.
Stevosevic Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 Hope we have a nice shirt for a change. Thinking positives

It's one thing wanting him out based on a reasoned argument, but claiming he's one of our worst managers ever or clamouring for league 1 journeymen to replace him is a little ridiculous. No it isn't usually the case. Over two thirds of promoted sides have stayed up over the past half dozen years. But they are exceptions to the rule. And it's a little disheartening to think Pearson should aspire to be as good as Bruce or Peter Reid. I'd be happy for us to enjoy a spell of success similar to what Bruce has brought to Hull and Birmingham and Reid brought to Sunderland. People really have expectations that are too high.
hackneyfox Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 We have fantastic owners and out crowds are the 11th highest in the PL. We got 102 points last season, I dont see how expecting us to at least put up a fight is high expectations. It's embarrassing at the moment.

Hear this quite a bit. Can I ask were you expecting us to be this bad?
5waller5 Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 If, for the sake of argument, we go down and Pearson takes up back up again we'll find ourselves in the same situation. What is the point in keeping a man good enough for one level and not good enough for the other? Consistency of course!!!!! Football isn't a game to win or be the best team you can be ..... Leicester have reinvented the criteria for success: The longest time you can tolerate poor performances and stick by your manager and players and turn your nose up at anyone that wants better.

What's the 'better'? I've not seen or heard a sane suggestion during all the time people have been wanting Pearson out, which for the vocal minority was the minute he walked through the door, even during the record breaking season. Although after yesterday's managerial performance I'd be ready to accept the stupid, poorly thought through suggestions on offer
roger the dodger Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 He knows his players, he knows the owners, he knows football. Keep him. Good things will eventually happen (again). defeatist view.keep him good things will happen again ! i wanted them this season not the shambles that we have had. this comment makes me so angry
Mark_w Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 defeatist view.keep him good things will happen again ! i wanted them this season We all did, we're an average lower-Prem/upper-Championship team. If you expect a faultless manager and unceasing success then I have no idea how you're possibly going to be able to cope with being a Leicester City fan, because it's never going to happen.

Although after yesterday's managerial performance I'd be ready to accept the stupid, poorly thought through suggestions on offer Better is turning up to win games, playing decent football, attacking teams, keeping the ball, passing it to our own players, and outscoring the opposition. Winning is better. If the manager stands and watches that inept display yesterday and not change anything then change the manager. And if he doesn't improve things change him again. And again. Until you get a manager that does make a difference and does show improvement. Loads of people on here turned their nose up at Tim Sherwood as a candidate. he went into the changing room with a group of players he'd never met and won the game for them yesterday. It's time we stopped believing in the low expectation NP has taught us to have by the delusions of grandeur type statements and demand better.

We were yes ... then we had new owners with deep pockets that want to change that. Our fans need to start to realise that this isn't good enough any more.

Of course that's better, but where is the manager who will deliver it & actually join us... not just type it out on a fan forum?
cc_star Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 We were yes ... then we had new owners with deep pockets that want to change that. Our fans need to start to realise that this isn't good enough any more. Such deep pockets the club barely landed a single player NP targeted in the summer

5waller5 Posted 16 February 2015 Posted 16 February 2015 Such deep pockets the club barely landed a single player NP targeted in the summer Is that because they weren't sold the club very well or down to finances? or did they not fancy playing for a manager that only plays his mates??? We just don't know the answer to that. (but I bet we have different theories!!).
