Sly Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 I personally think 38 points would keep any team in the Premier League up this season. So for us, that means getting another 20 points from our remaining 12 games. I sounds easy, it rolls of the tongue and you think no problem! The flip side of the coin, the reality - we've only got 18 from 26 games so far. Now, that look breaks. Looking at the games we have left, can we do it? Chelsea Man City Hull Tottenham West Ham West Brom Swansea Burnley Newcastle Southampton Sunderland QPR I look at that list of teams ..... and I believe, WE CAN DO IT!!!! ..... so should you .... so should the players!!
Blue will Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 15 points max, But we are more than capable of getting about 5 points, Problem is nugent and vardy looked sharp when they came on but I bet if they started the next game they would be dog shit again

ADK Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 We could get to 33 and might be lucky with the required total. Think 38 is a tough ask.
lgfualol Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Most of them are winnable games which means we'll lose them unfortunately.
Legend_in_blue Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 If Pearson persists with "containment football" we stand no chance because our "game of fine margins" will always fall on the side of drawing but then going on to lose the game.
AKCJ Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Chelsea - LossMan City - LossHull - WinTottenham - LossWest Ham - DrawWest Brom - DrawSwansea - WinBurnley - DrawNewcastle - WinSouthampton - LossSunderland - DrawQPR - Win 16 more points IMO. Would put us on 34 points. I think that'll take us off bottom but I don't think we're staying up.
Guest ttfn Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 We'll never get to 38 but personally I'd be surprised if any of Hull, QPR, Burnley or Villa got to 38 either. In fact 38 is what I'm expecting the likes of Sunderland and West Brom to get. I am confident 35 will be enough and we've still got probably 10 games we could conceivably win. That said I can't see us getting there - we just give up too many poor goals.
Lcfc_1995 Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 I can see us getting 17 points from those games if I'm being optimistic at its maximum, problem is the remaining home games apart from QPR and hull, they look easy to win, but they won't be at all and will be very difficult to even win the other home games, the away matches, vs burnley west Brom and Sunderland we cannot lose.
Guest Mickyblueeyes Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Man city - loss Hull - win Spurs - draw West ham - win Albion - draw Swansea - loss Burnley - win Newcastle - win Saints - loss Sunderland - draw Chelsea - loss Qpr - win 18 points - 36
Number 6 Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Don't think staying up will require 38. I see it being below 35 but just don't think we'll have enough to get ther. If we could just spend one afternoon outside the bottom 3 I may believe. Having said that we're very nearly out of this horrid run of fixtures. Staying in touch is important. Right now I'd be very happy if we still have a chance on the final day.
David Guiza Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 https://www.thesportspredictor.com/#/ For anyone who can be bothered, this works like the old BBC predictor. Whatever happens, it's certainly looking as though it's going to be fewer points than usual to survive.
Karljohn Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Hold on a minute. . Its taken 26 games to get to 18 points and some think we can double that points total in 12 games with Man City and Chelsea still to play!!??!!
Number 6 Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Last day of the season we host QPR whilst Burnley travel to Villa. Reallyhopw we haven't already gone by that point (sorry heart).

It might be blind hope but so what! isn't it dreaming of succeeding against all odds the reason we all watch football? Or maybe that's just me.

MooseBreath Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 We'll never get 20pts. That's top-4 form, it's never going to happen. Can we get 14pts and stay up courtesy of a freakishly low points requirement? Possible, but very improbable. For me: Man City Lose Hull Draw Spurs Lose West Ham Draw West Brom draw Swansea lose Burnley lose Chelsea lose Newcastle win Southampton lose Sunderland lose QPR win 9pts, 20th.
kane Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 15 Leicester 38 -21 35 16 West Brom 38 -22 32 17 Hull 38 -20 30 18 Aston Villa 38 -35 26 19 QPR 38 -31 24 20 Burnley 38 -33 24
Leicesterpool Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 To be honest we seem to do well against the big boys, its the teams around us we struggle with. Man City Draw Hull Draw Spurs Lose West Ham Win West Brom Lose Swansea Lose Burnley Draw Chelsea Draw Newcastle Win Southampton Draw Sunderland Win QPR Draw 15pts

ronnup Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 We need to win half of our games now. Which will be a miracle, but looking at the fixtures, could happen. I'd we can win 4 before the last two games then that would be an immense end to the season.
MaxLERenard Posted 22 February 2015 Posted 22 February 2015 Man City drawHull winTottenham winWest Ham winWest Brom winSwansea winBurnley win Chelsea loseNewcastle winSouthampton winSunderland winQPR not bothered cos we're safe ... but I've been wrong before now
