Given the choice of a team going backwards and selling its best players, managed by Captain Bellend, or a team ending the season strongly, aiming for top half and europe within the length of a normal contract, managed by Claudio Ranieri?

It's a no-brainer. Going to Villa after the way they've gone about the summer is a sign of criminal underambition.

looking a little more promising than ours considering we was bottom 90 percent of the season

not to mention

Sherwood had a top-flight win percentage of59%, which is the best of any Tottenham boss in Premier League history, and sixth place was enough to get the club into next season's Europa League

So yeah Captin Bellend is not a great option

We've not done much due to the manager change, but signing up a player like huth permanently and one of Japans top goalscorers of all time, or two man city reserve teamers who haven't played much in years, a second choice championship keeper and the shit Ayew. Quality over quantity.

Bottom of the Prem for 90% of the season but still managed to finish 3 places above Media Darling Tim Sherwood

He also guided them to an FA Cup final. Don't get the hate for Sherwood. He did a decent job at Spurs and Villa (so far) and both times it wasn't his squad. He'll keep Villa up next season, easily, in fact I'll go far to say they'll finish above us.

We're no better than Villa. I don't know why people think we are

It's not about who is better at the moment though, at the moment we're about level - lower mid to relegation battlers. However, which club is most likely to have the better future? It's got to be us, we're showing ambition in our signings, in our managerial appointments and in our approach to games. Villa have become satisfied with scraping survival, have lost their best players and are signing guff, as well as appointing it to the dugout as well.

it's like the sunderland debate, we're not bigger than them at the moment, but when they're content to scrap 17th and show no desire to go further, who would want to go there?

I don't see us with a brighter future than Villa. Look at our squad, we're in for a relegation battle again.

Getting past Blackpool, an utter shambles, Bournemouth, Us while we were doing our best to shoot ourselves in the foot, West Brom and Liverpool. They didn't face a tough match really until the quarters, arguably the semis.

he could have a win percentage of 110% but he'd still be a complete and utter cock jockey

Balance that against the fact that Villa have lost the spine of their team from keeper to attack, 4 of which were their best players.

Also don't forget that despite his high win ratio (skewed by his limited number of games) he only managed to beat one team above Tottenham whilst managing the highest spending team in the division that season.

We're in for bottom half, but we're talking about and looking to go beyond it (in the club rather than in the stands), Villa, like Sunderland, have settled into mediocrity

quietly confident this is in fact a positive, and now he's going to have his own squad added to his own cuntiness added to his own ineptness and all will sum together to put villa out of business

I don't get the hate for Sherwood either. Good manager tbf.

Eh, flat track bully with Spurs (repeatedly thrashed by those above him) and new manager bounce is all that kept Villa up - after the first month, they were a shambles.

I don't think anyone's arguing we're bigger but we're certainly better.

They tread water every year, they're going nowhere. We had a better squad last season and finished above them. We'd have been miles above them if we played to our strengths all season.

They beat one decent side in the whole competition, not including us as we put in a season-low performance. They were shite, we were just more shite on the day.

Sherwood is all mouth.

Lost 7 games in the league.

Manchester City, Norwich, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and West Ham.

Doesn't look too bad that.

Doesn't matter who they beat. They still made the final.

We beat Tranmere in the league cup final or are you writing that off because they're not a decent side?

Sensible post. Getting carried away with win percentages is a schoolboy error.
