SMX11 Posted 15 November 2009 Posted 15 November 2009 I'm completely bored.... so I have decided to start a thread on the upcoming transfer window. Who would your realistic signings be? Who will you get rid of (if any)? Dear Mandy, I would like the following players: Neil Mellor/Chris Brown Peter Halmosi Tom Cleverley Grant McCann/Owen Garvan Any thoughts?

The only one who I think would improve what we already have
Flynny Posted 15 November 2009 Posted 15 November 2009 Halmosi is a decent shout, Cleverly's probably settled down at Watford now and would rather go back there if given a choice. Chris Brown can keep the players' wives in check I suppose.
jonthefox Posted 15 November 2009 Posted 15 November 2009 wouldnt mind waggy signed on a permenant.. plus the return of a rejuvenated and fully fired up gradel.
sdb Posted 15 November 2009 Posted 15 November 2009 Is Mellor that good? I'd love Cleverly back and a right back (i don't hate Neilson but consider him slightly below the standard of the rest of the team)
SMX11 Posted 15 November 2009 Author Posted 15 November 2009 I guess no strikers will be signed after looking at Knowitalls thread. However, we desperately need cover/improvement in the centre of the midfield imo and a winger. Perhaps my suggestions aren't great but they are the type of players i would look for.
samjohnson Posted 15 November 2009 Posted 15 November 2009 Rory Delap (As if we havent got enough long throwers ) - plus he is a half decent midfielder. Also would like to see Gradel back... Also a bit more of Astrit Adjarevic.
MC Prussian Posted 15 November 2009 Posted 15 November 2009 I'd love to see a new striker (Howard's getting old, Fryatt a hit-and-miss affair and one Waghorn alone doesn't make a summer; and Kermorgant's an offensive midfield player, much like Hume) and a creative midfielder to sort out our issues in the centre. Without Oakley and Wellens, we lack a decent backspine. King had one really good, unspectacular game against QPR but has yet to convince me he's made for the Championship level. Defense and goalkeeper are sorted, although a reliable backup for Weale would be nice (given we're still competing for a playoff place later on this season).

Also a bit more of Astrit Adjarevic. Delap starts every week for a prem team?! Gradel would be a nice option to have on the bench agreed
bluebeau Posted 15 November 2009 Posted 15 November 2009 Sell Max Gradel to the scum Leeds, & buy Waghorn from Sunderland........wishful thinking! Buy Chris Commons from the sheep shaggers...........more wishful thinking! In truth, I will leave it up to The Messia NP.
BoneDog Posted 15 November 2009 Posted 15 November 2009 Paul Scharner, Stephen Ireland and Carlton Cole will do me for next year
MC Prussian Posted 15 November 2009 Posted 15 November 2009 I reckon a loan move for Philippe Senderos would be great - he has an awful lot of Premiership and International experience, could still learn a lot from Brown and also act as a very good backup should one central defender leave. I heard he's currently out of favour at Arsenal. Plus, he'd make great mates with Berner. Further on my wishlist would be Heskey and if we could get either Davies or Cleverley back on loan that'd be more than great (although rather unlikely). Then again, I'm dreaming loudly.
StanSP Posted 15 November 2009 Posted 15 November 2009 If Halmosi came he would keep us in playoff positions (or better). Good winger and did excellent at Plymouth. Wouldn't mind Cleverley back either
Ozwin Posted 15 November 2009 Posted 15 November 2009 Right back Left back A winger A ball winning midfielder A striker I don't ask for much.
Father Ted Posted 15 November 2009 Posted 15 November 2009 We should try and take Nenad Milijas on loan from Wolves and Zoran Tosic from Man U. And try and get John Bostock (can't believe he's gone on loan to Brentford )
Ozwin Posted 15 November 2009 Posted 15 November 2009 I think we should also get Dennis Bergkamp in as a coach or something.
Dan Posted 15 November 2009 Posted 15 November 2009 Right. Peter Halmosi - A left winger is something I think we need to be honest, Dany N'Guessan is naturally played on the right, Gallagher is a forward and Dyer isn't really succeeding at this level to be honest, as well, I don't think Halmosi would cost that much. Tom Cleverley - Went to the England U21's yesterday, and I tell you what he was fantastic, looked faster, better dribbler, better crosser, he has totally improved his all round game since he was at us I think, and if his loan with Watford expires in January, then I think its a real possibility. Mark Davies - Another one that seems to have fallen out of favour a bit at Bolton, and definately would do the job at this level. Calvin Zola - From what I've seen he's looked a class act, 6'6 tall, mobile, good finisher. He is the finished article in my opinion, he might be about 27 years old, but I still think he'd do a good job at this level and would provide very good cover. Jordan Rhodes - About 20 years old, and he is absolutely banging them in for Huddersfield, he would be fantastic. Martyn Waghorn - I personally think he will come until the end of the season but then go back to Sunderland, having said that, his deal at them is up at the end of the season, and therefore wouldn't cost as much. But I still think a permanent move is a real long shot.
