Xen Posted 6 April 2015 Posted 6 April 2015 Used a calculator and tried to be fair, but it's easy to put too many 'obvious' results so the bottom end of the table ends up with very few points: Whereas if I let it just calculate it automatically based on 'form' with a bit of random error, it generated this: I'm optimistic, but we're going to need some very good performances over the coming weeks. Kick start it with at least a point on Saturday and we could well survive, fingers crossed.
Leeds Fox Posted 6 April 2015 Posted 6 April 2015 We needed 2 clear wins on our rivals anyway. Today isn't too bad given next week's games. We need performances like yesterday from now on though. Keep us in it come QPR and I'd back us to do it. If it does come down to the final game, I think it'll be the day Esteban becomes a legend for this club. I can just imagine him winning us that game.

If this becomes the final table, it'll all be down to that silly extra-time freekick Matty James gave away to Burnley in October...
Ric Flair Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 I've got us down to get 36 points, 4 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats. Unlikely we'll get that but if we do then who knows, should be enough?
Stevosevic Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 Been thinking it over since the WHU win and i really can't see it happening for us. Pull off a win on Saturday and i may well believe.
whitlock Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 I think the WBA game is season defining. It will prove whether the WHU game was just another one off, or we have 'turned a corner' I just hope NP goes for it, like Spurs - lost yes but scored 3 goals, could of had more and then beating WHU too after going for it. Would be huge win at the weekend - especially if other results go our way too.
BrummieFOX Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 If this becomes the final table, it'll all be down to that silly extra-time freekick Matty James gave away to Burnley in October... No it wont.
Osavo Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 If this becomes the final table, it'll all be down to that silly extra-time freekick Matty James gave away to Burnley in October... Why are some people so narrow minded? If that becomes the final table, it will be down to us being worse than 18 other teams over a 38 game period. I'm sure other clubs could point to incidents which could've swung in their favour too. Jelavic's chance against us for example, he should have scored easily, if they go down one point from safety would they blame a poor season all on one incident, probably not. So please, if it does come down to one or two points, don't blame one person or point to an individual moment.
LCCFox96 Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 If this becomes the final table, it'll all be down to that silly extra-time freekick Matty James gave away to Burnley in October... Really?!? To blame it one single player's individual error when our season has been crippled with them, across the whole team, would be absolute lunacy.
GingerrrFox Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 If this becomes the final table, it'll all be down to that silly extra-time freekick Matty James gave away to Burnley in October... I'd rather blame Mike Jones for costing us 2 points against Liverpool for 2 horrendous penalty decisions.
bovril Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 We'll look back at the Burnley game for sure. But it wasn't just James' fault, we were practically begging them to score all 2nd half.
Guest kristianity77 Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 I cant decide what is the best result for us tonight looking at the table. Its full of negatives no matter which way you look at it after Sunderland won yesterday. You'd probably say QPR because if they won it doesn't extend the points total for us to safety.
Jimothy Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 Did that predictor where you guess your own teams results and the rest are put together by the website based on form. Had us losing to Chelsea, Southampton and Swansea, and optimistically winning the rest. This is how the table ends up. As a side note not sure how on current form they have Arsenal finishing below both Manchester clubs, but there you go. Team P GD Pts Chelsea 38 37 83 Man Utd 38 27 77 Man City 38 33 75 Arsenal 38 30 74 Liverpool 38 9 70 Southampton 38 20 69 Tottenham 38 5 68 Swansea 38 -2 56 West Ham 38 2 53 Stoke 38 -4 52 Everton 38 -3 47 Crystal Palace 38 -4 44 Newcastle 38 -16 43 Hull 38 -14 38 Leicester 38 -20 37 West Brom 38 -15 35 Aston Villa 38 -22 35 Sunderland 38 -20 32 QPR 38 -20 29 Burnley 38 -23 28
HighPeakFox Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 I am going to spend zero energy worrying about tonight's result - I will however be a sweaty mess on Saturday
hejammy Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 We'll look back at the Burnley game for sure. But it wasn't just James' fault, we were practically begging them to score all 2nd half. This is true however the defeat against Burnley at home was a major blow and we haven't been the same since. It was like a sucker punch. Not blaming any individuals though if we get relegated by 1 point. Like someone else pointed out its the whole season as an average and not just one game.

Although it felt that way!
hejammy Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 Burnley didn't beat us!... Although it felt that way![/quote Yea sorry I meant the second goal, but yes it did Def feel like a loss!
Matt Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 When Matty James gave the freekick away against Burnley I said to my mate (And I quote) "This is gonna cost us". I feared for the season on that incident and the moment the followed, as someone has said a few post's up you could argue we've never really recovered. That isn't me saying I told you so, I may still be wrong and I hope to god I am, if I am anyone is welcome to quote this post if they really want to, with pleasure, but that was my thoughts at the time and unfortunately looks like it could turn out that way.
nnfox Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 Do not underestimate the importance of the WBA game on Saturday. They will be absolutely gunning for us and will want to win. They are not quite safe yet and if they lose to us then their gap to the bottom gets even less and they will be back in the relegation battle with a horrendous run in and a real prospect of getting nothing from their remaining fixtures. Pulis will know this and If they beat us, they will probably be safe and they will look at their fixtures and see us as their most likely source of 3 points. We really have to be up for it.
shailen Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 If this becomes the final table, it'll all be down to that silly extra-time freekick Matty James gave away to Burnley in October... Not the countless number of clear cut opportunities we missed in games thereafter. Yes it was a setback, but that doesn't overlook the fact that we got 2 points from 11 games, thereafter. If we go down, it is because we haven't turned our performances into results. Not because of one error in isolation or referees not giving us decisions or being unlucky.
Dan Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 It's true actually that if we do win Saturday we're actually dragging them right back into it. Imagine losing at home to us and QPR in a week Still think we're going to suffer a loss sadly.
