queensguardfox Posted 7 April 2015 Author Posted 7 April 2015 QPR could realistically lose there remaining 6 games unlikely, but it could happen looking at there remaining games.
sylofox Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 So some could blame james and not Morgans right but check for our relegation. James dropped one bollock and is blamed lol Why not blame the forwards that can't hit a barn door?
Guest ttfn Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 Looks like QPR are probably going to have to beat us, Newcastle and West Ham to stay up. The other 3 games look like write-offs.
Les-TA-Jon Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 I think the WBA game is season defining. It will prove whether the WHU game was just another one off, or we have 'turned a corner'Well, it is and it isn't. For instance we could lose it and win 4 of the others and potentially stay up couldn't we?Often, teams that finish 17th have poor seasons and rarely put runs together - they just win every now and then.
whoareyaaa Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 Hull are down imo there run in is terrible and so are they, there goners. QPR imo are down they don't have the best run in and got a lucky result at the weekend, we will beat them but they will already be down. Now its betwee us, Burnley, Sunderland and Villa for the drop I think we have the best run of games out of that lot and with a bit of luck I can somehow unbelievably see us staying up. its going to be a fight to the death though and the players will need to be on top of their game every week. Also our game in hand doesn't have to be considered to be Chelsea its only top team we have left to play the others have to play a couple so I don't think it hinders us in anyway at all.
Foxhateram Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 Ball is in our court now, with two games in hand over villa and QPR and one game in hand over others around us, with the teams around us still to play. Play our trump cards now and we could be looking at survival. Just a shame we have to wait so long for those games in hand, would love to put the points on the tanle right now. We would be 3 points from safety.
The Doctor Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 Well, it is and it isn't. For instance we could lose it and win 4 of the others and potentially stay up couldn't we? Often, teams that finish 17th have poor seasons and rarely put runs together - they just win every now and then. With the point we've got to and the amount of points that need making up? We're going to have to go on a run
bluesbrothers Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 Massive result yesterday. I spent the whole day willing QPR and Villa to draw, but never really expected it. We have to win at Brom, but if we do I think it's on.
Sunbury Fox Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 The more you look at other teams' run ins the more you think this could be on. Hull have only one winnable game left, QPR 2 (excluding the game against us) and Burnley have 3 out of the last 4 away.
tripe Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 Beside the games that these teams have to play between each other, the key matches could be against Southampton. Both Hull and Villa need to go to St. Mary's, and S'oton's got away games vs Sunderland and LCFC. They are currently 7th with 53 points. Spurs and Liverpool, who hold the Europa League spots are on 54 points. It could all come down to the last match day. LCFC-QPR, Villa-Burnley, Chelsea-Sunderland, Hull-United.
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 I'm not buying into Saturday's game being a 'must win.' Avoiding defeat would do I think as looking at the other sides fixtures we would make up some ground. Its widely touted that we need 4 wins, and I don't think West Brom is one of our 4 easiest games. Of course if we do win it would allow us a little more flexibility in the other 7 games. In order of games we have to look to win are.Newcastle = Playing for nothing, looked shite for weeks. Couldn't even get up for the Derby and they will be our easiest opponent.Burnley = Having watched them against Spurs, I think Huth will deal with their direct threat. I think we can cause them alot of problems up front too. QPR = Will be twitchy if both sides need something. They are like us in the sense they can't defend much so just going for it every game. Sunderland = Advocaat is a decent coach, think their defence is woeful and as it will be must win for them too will be open for us to counter. Swansea = Nothing to play for other than where they finish between 8-12. If not playing at a high intensity we could cash in with home crowd behind us.West Brom = Just got thumped by QPR. Pulis won't allow that again. They are pretty much safe though so not much to play for. Unfortunate for us Jeff Astle day may motivate them enough to perform well. Southampton = By the time we play them their top 4 aspirations will be over, have the Europa League to play for though, will be tough. Chelsea = Best team in the country by a mile. If they have won the league by this game then maybe we have a chance of causing an upset.
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 Like mentioned in one of the posts above if we win at WBA then I will start to believe we can do it.
Silverdaz Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 Why are some people so narrow minded? If that becomes the final table, it will be down to us being worse than 18 other teams over a 38 game period. I'm sure other clubs could point to incidents which could've swung in their favour too. Jelavic's chance against us for example, he should have scored easily, if they go down one point from safety would they blame a poor season all on one incident, probably not. So please, if it does come down to one or two points, don't blame one person or point to an individual moment. It will be down to the shocking refereeing performace against Liverpool away could easily of had two more points
Ollie93 Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 Makes me feel sick how we ground out such an important win against WHU, but still end up in the same position being 7pts off safety and a win won't get us off the bottom. I wonder if the players look at it like that and think "fvck".
Bluearmy888 Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 Looking at the remaining fixtures, here's my predication.... Sunderland 35 Points Aston Villa 35 Points Leicester 34 Points Burnley 34 Points Hull 32 Points QPR 32 Points I reckon it could go down to goal difference between us and Burnley!
LCCFox96 Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 If Chelsea win the league before we play them in our game in hand lets hope the put in a pissed up performance like we did against Brighton last season, which sees us run out 4-1 winners with Ulloa bagging another brace.
Dan Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 Blimey. If we win our next two I actually think we'll do it.
Frost Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 We are not going to stay up. Would be fantastic if we did, but I just can't see it happening, at all.
Footballwipe Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 We're a team that thrives on confidence and it seems this season that can very easily be pricked. All it takes is something to puncture it and we've been toast this season. Look at our wins. Stoke and Man Utd came back to back before Palace. Hull and Villa came with Liverpool 2-2 sandwiched in the middle, and was then immediately ended by Stoke's win. For me, we have to go on a run now because if we're dented once again it'll be curtains for us. At the moment we're in a position where we have to rely on other teams doing favours for us, we're in a position where we have no choice now, our survival is not in our hands. Beat WBA and Swansea and we're looking very, very good. Make no mistake though it'll take two excellent performances to beat these two. WBA had their 'bad day' last week, and Swansea are always strong. Yet if we can beat West Ham like that there's no reason why not. Favours, fortune and doing the job consistently will keep us up this season. I'd be delighted if it happened too because if we did somehow manage to pull it off I think it'd be a catalyst for us and I'd be 100% sure we wouldn't be in this position again.
AKCJ Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 I'm shitting myself over Saturday's game. Where is Stevie Howard when you need him?
Max Power Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 Got a feeling it's going to end up we don't leave the bottom three until the 90th minute against QPR. Fingers crossed.
Manwell Pablo Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 Just wondering, where has this new found belief come from? Posters who geniuenly believed we could stay up were like rocking horse shit before Saturday, one win which unfortuantley due to other results has only made us one point closer to safety and the great escape is on? geniuenly confused by massive sway in opinions.

I personally think we've played well the majority of the season (bar a few silly mistakes). This gives me a glimmer of hope, hence my positivity. I'm under know illusion that's its a tough ask, but its still achievable.
