Guest seanfox778 Posted 11 April 2015 Posted 11 April 2015 Trying not to get ahead of myself but it's so hard now, imagine if we win again! It's in our hands, let's hope the players put in another good shift. Come on Leicester!!
iancognito Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 Momentum. If this season's taught me anything it's to keep a lid on any success or triumph and not get too carried away. Swansea are a very good side, they've done well without Gomis already this season and along with Koeman and Pardew, Monk is up there for manager of the season for me. Sigurdsson and Shelvey are very dangerous players. That said, getting off the bottom, let alone out of the bottom three would be huge and that incentive alone should save Pearson the need for a team talk next weekend.
st albans fox Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 The opportunity to get off the bottom next week is likely to prove an interesting mental challenge for the team. Despite everyone talking about momentum etc etc, it wouldn't surprise me to see a bunch of very nervous players next week. Swansea could easily rip us apart the way they play. The management have a very tough job this week to try and get the boys mentally right for this. What is in our favour is that it's only last season that this group went many many games on a winning run. They have to draw on that experience. Another point to make is that next Saturday will not decide if we stay up. a poor result should not dictate a poor response from the fans. The players need to know they have our backing whatever happens.
Bristol fox .... Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 Hull dont play, we need to win by 3, and hope qpr fail to beat chelsea tommorow, and burnley fail to win at everton next saturdaySunderland dont play next week either so it could be a very productive weekend if we can get a result
LCCFox96 Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 Getting out of the bottom 3 next weekend would be absolutely massive for the team having been rooted down there for gods knows how long. The longer the players and staff keep these positive performances, positive set ups and goals coming the more optimistic I'll be. Next weekend is a brilliant opportunity for us.
Matt Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 Big game, tough game! I don't like the mentality of going into games accepting a draw but that that's the case with this game, that said we should not treat the game setting up and with the mentality of not losing, that is simply not good and we've seen doesn't really work!
Guest Col city fan Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 I can't see any reason why we can't beat Swansea at home. We need to stop Shelvey shooting from distance though. Give him time and space he'll punish us for it.
Matt Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 My god just looked at the table, scrap that draw comment I desperately want a win! Likelihood is we'd be out the relegation zone!
bovril Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 Swansea looked pretty good on MOTD. It'll be tough but they have nothing to play for.
Happy Fox Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 They're a side that keeps the ball well and counter attack with Routledge and Dyer on the wings dont give cheap set pieces otherwise they will punish us. Play same formation except Ulloa for Kramaric. And Perhaps King for James Think we will win 2-1.
elvis f kennedy Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 Think some of you are getting carried away.calm down and take each cup final as it comes.some silly comments on this.
elvis f kennedy Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 What would you give for 3pts in Saturday? I would pass on Rachel Riley's cunty knickers, unless she was wearing them ,then I'd settle for a draw.
weller54 Posted 12 April 2015 Author Posted 12 April 2015 I can't see any reason why we can't beat Swansea at home. We need to stop Shelvey shooting from distance though. Give him time and space he'll punish us for it. Certainly no better time to play them, they're devoid of strikers now Bony gone and Gomis injured.. Nothing to play for, safe in mid table.. Holidays booked.. If we score early then I can see only one result!
Finn Claw II Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 As others have said, mentally preparing for this is a challenge. Getting off the bottom would be such a mental lift, especially if Burnley replace us prior to the trip to Turf Moor. With Kasper in goal at least we have a good shot stopper
foxfanazer Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 We certainly can't be accused of giving up that's for sure. Another winnable game, hopefully no Gomis and maybe Swansea won't be very motivated. We can't rely on that though, just need to do what we're doing. We must stop letting in cheap goals!

Matt Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 One motivation should be to 'right a wrong' after that awful performance and game at Swansea earlier in the season.
Raj Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 Gotta be wary of clubs with nothing to play for,you know all the pressure off and all that..WE gotta play like its a final, fans gotta be up for it from the start. COYB
johnny the fox Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 We must stop shipping cheap goals..especially from set pieces ..get on the training ground and sort it nigel...
st albans fox Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 Certainly no better time to play them, they're devoid of strikers now Bony gone and Gomis injured.. Nothing to play for, safe in mid table.. If we score early then I can see only one result! as long as we dont then miss a pen to fire them up ! tbh, i dont see swansea as being that type of "on the beach" team. i expect they will 'turn up'
1993fox Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 1-0 win and Hull lose 2-0, we'll be out of the bottom three gents We can do this, we need to ****ing win this game!
1993fox Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 My god just looked at the table, scrap that draw comment I desperately want a win! Likelihood is we'd be out the relegation zone! At this point of the season 1 point isn't enough, in our situation losing two points is signing a loan on a one-way ticket back to the Championship.
Isle of Wight Fox 86 Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 At this point of the season 1 point isn't enough, in our situation losing two points is signing a loan on a one-way ticket back to the Championship. 1 point at the weekend could take us upto 18th if both QPR and Burnley lose - and put us 2 points off safety with Sunderland and Burnley still to play - so against a very good Swansea side getting a point wouldn't be the end of the world.
shailen Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 If you were to judge our opponents based on games we have played, I think Swansea are the only team to have completely outplayed us. They have shown how good they are and we need to be at our best to get a result. Hopefully the atmosphere can help us, with our recent momentum to get another 3 points. I fancy us at home against anyone.
Matt Posted 12 April 2015 Posted 12 April 2015 At this point of the season 1 point isn't enough, in our situation losing two points is signing a loan on a one-way ticket back to the Championship. I have been saying the same things for weeks, now suddenly after two wins i'm saying the polar opposite, but we needed 4 wins and a draw before yesterday, so I read and have been told, we've got one of those so it's down to 3 wins and a draw, now for me there are no excuses against Sunderland, Burnley, QPR - Those are the game marked down as 'must-wins' for me, now it doesn't matter where we get our wins really but they are the games I feel we need to win and there are no excuses, add Swansea as your draw, and after watching Newcastle last week we really should be beating them too, then anything out of Southampton and Chelsea is a bonus. Besides after that post I looked at the table and saw a win could probably take us out of the relegation zone so I changed my mind and we need to win this match!
