sylofox Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 I think it's crucial to beat Swansea. Not for the points..a draw might do, but to keep the run going and the confidence up. We look confident at last. It needs to continue. Bollox I just +1 Col lol
Guest Col city fan Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Bollox I just +1 Col lol Shut up Welly..
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 We've got 2 things the teams directly above us would kill for right now, goals in us and momentum.

Our season really starts on saturday now we have given ourselves this great chance.

sylofox Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Yes you do agree with everything I say... Own up... The only thing I agree with most of your quotes is the time stamp and your name. So yes I agree but not with what you say lol
sdb Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Absolutely bloody massive. Yes we've won 2 but all they've done is get us back in the frame. Winning this would be a real step towards actually doing what seemed impossible. Fans need to be at 10000%
Mark_from_USA Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 A win here would make our survival odds 75%, in my opinion. It will come down to the battle of the balds in midfield!
Bayfox Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 I would pay good money to see her do a "Delia Smith esq" rally at half time/pre game. I'd pay really good money to see naked at half time
tickler28 Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 This is the BIGGEST game of the season so far...make no mistake about it. With neither QPR, Sunderland and Hull playing a win would be MASSIVE. It would not only get us off the bottom but could....seriously put us 3rd from bottom if Burnley lose or draw and even a 3-0 win would take us out of the bottom three......like I said this IS our biggest game of the season if not the last 10 years!!

West Ham & Hull were bigger. We're still in the thick of it win, lose or draw on Saturday. I actually think our biggest game of the season will be Sunderland away. If I could pick one game that we wewre guaranteed to win for the rest of the season then that's the one.
lee7 Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Would give us a lot of momentum going in to the burnley game if we could get 3 points against Swansea however I think we'll make it hard for ourselves by losing to Swansea!
rascal Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Hello Foxes This might piss a few of you off but I'm a Jack living amongst you - not come on to wind you up either! Came on the forum to get your perspective on Saturday's game. Been living in Leicestershire for last 20 years and know plenty of LC fans. I'll be in the away end on Sat. Interesting that some of you say we have nothing to play for. Not true. Monk and the players will want to finish above 9th and get more than 47 points which we now have - it equals our highest points tally since being back in the top flight. Whilst its not a must for us to win on Sat (unlike this time last year) we won't want to lose either. Bloody typical you start winning when we come to town! Your optimism is well placed as our llast 3 visits there have all been 1-2 defeats (saw them all
Floridafox Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 We've got 2 things the teams directly above us would kill for right now, goals in us and momentum. This. For the first time this season the stomach's doing flip-flops in the build up for a game. Looking at the recent performances/results we can do this and you can see it on the faces of the players/manager. Its all about now and forget October/November, the season will be judged on April/May. What I would give to be looking at Leicester's fixture list for 15/16 in the PREMIER LEAGUE this June. Its within our grasp
Stadt Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 I'd be uncomfortable with Albrighton as a wingback, he's dreadful defensively

I think if we win this we will stay up, 100%. However, if we don't win this we still have a massive chance of staying up. So it's not that huge a game. We can draw/lose this and it not be a disaster. If we win it might be looked back on as one of our biggest wins in years as, like I say, I can't see us going down if we do.

Note I said biggest game of the season so far...last match was the biggest but this is now bigger.....I disagree lose this or even draw it and all the hard work of past 2 Saturdays is undone and we hand initiative back to those above us....we win and we see where it takes us as away days at Burnley and Sunderland and home games to Chelsea and QPR are going to be brutal
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 I don't think drawing this game undoes the hard work of the last 2 results at all. Draw it and we're 7 points from 9 with most the teams around us still to play. Obviously the objective should be and will be to win the game, and rightly so, but I just don't want to lose this one, keep the run going and any points on the board in this one is a good result imo.
shailen Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 For me the must win games are Burnley, QPR and Sunderland. Win all three then we should be safe regardless of what happens in the other games.
foxfan92 Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 I'd like to see the same system/players that played in the second half today but with Kramaric involved. Something like: Schmeichel Wasilewski Huth Morgan Albrighton Cambiasso King Schlupp Nugent Kramaric Vardy Basically what I was going to suggest too. I know Swansea have pace down the wings and removing the fullbacks leaves us a bit vulnerable but the best form of defence is attack so let's just play to our strengths and keep them on the back foot.
weller54 Posted 14 April 2015 Author Posted 14 April 2015 The Swansea team look a lot less threatening than last time we played them.. No Bony, Gomis injured, Montero probably out.. Sig and Shel are quality in midfield, so we need to stop them playing.. I'd like to see a 3 man midfield, Cambiasso, King and Hammond... Thoughts ?
st albans fox Posted 14 April 2015 Posted 14 April 2015 Basically what I was going to suggest too. I know Swansea have pace down the wings and removing the fullbacks leaves us a bit vulnerable but the best form of defence is attack so let's just play to our strengths and keep them on the back foot. Suicide to play narrow against a team with width who keep the ball well. Remember palace away? This lot are miles better with the ball and will play around us, moving the ball wide and getting their wingers one on one against our full backs. I would actually consider bringing back Simpson and Konch for this to try and negate that. 3 at the back against one striker will surely not be the choice. I'd actually match up 4-5-1 with the defensive full backs. Jeff wide left and Riyad or MA wide right. That means no nugent and JV on his own up top. with a positive attitude, that should be good enough as I don't rate emnes without any decent supply and we must make sure they don't get behind us out wide. the extra midfielder taking care of siggurdson who will float between the lines. We could 'go for it' as we did against west ham. we set up wrong at the Albion. if we're not 'going gung ho' then we must have three in the middle to try and control possession. one up top will do with our style of play. I would caution against a game of 'basketball' against Swansea. They are better with the ball and their defence is better than ours. if we make it a tough game, then I suspect their mindset will be tested to the point where we get on top. They are safe and will likely enjoy an open type game where they can play to their strengths. the idea is that we make it a game they don't enjoy, one which they just don't want to get involved in, mentally. difficult choices to be made, fine lines! If we do go for it and play open, then I won't diss the manager about it. like i said, it's a close call for me which way you go on this.
filbertway Posted 14 April 2015 Posted 14 April 2015 Can't wait to see Kingy being called anonymous at the weekend if he gets his start. WBA and this are the first 2 times I've genuinely been.nervous about a game, the rest of them I have been resigned to relegation or had fresh faced enthusiasm! Shelvey and sigurdsson v Schmeichal will be a key match considering we love gifting possession 20-25 yards out.
Ollie93 Posted 14 April 2015 Posted 14 April 2015 I don't think this in a "must win" game, but nor can we go at it defensively playing for a draw. I personally would like to see the lads play with confidence which they have. Take the game to Swansea, if we lose we are still right in the fight. The atmosphere will be tense but we have to get behind them!
