Schlupp to Swansea

Recommended Posts

Still got potential for me, Jeff, he's risen to the challenge of the Prem pretty well. Would be a bloody good move for him, not convinced Swans can't do better.

I would agree that Swansea isn't a step up for Schlupp unless of course we are relegated.

Fan base and history says they're one of the smallest clubs in the Premiership. All clubs end up at their true level and Swansea will get relegated for sure again at some point. They're having a golden period now but it's unlikely they'll get any better and at some point they'll lose their better players and replace them with dross.

Just like us under O'Neill, Leeds when they ere good, Middlsebrough, etc.

Only the really big clubs stay in the Premiership for any length of time.

Spot on.

No way they will go crazy splashing the cash or they could be the next portsmouth. Can't really see them getting any further up the table given their support, ffp etc lack of a great youth system. Gravity is a bitch. There's only one way for them to go and it can't be up....

Not saying it will happen next season maybe not even the one after but sooner or later they will get a double dose of reality. Inevitable.

In reality, outside of European football there's not a lot between any player going to any side that are in the prem apart from newly promoted. It will come down to who will pay the best wages most of the time.

All the big names even that qpr signed the last time in the prem, admittedly they made a mess of it but some of the names they signed were players money aside would never have signed for them. If we survive there's no real difference all things being equal to us, Stoke, Swansea etc

Would be a loss. He's so powerful and quick. Just needs to develop his first touch and shooting. All things that he can improve with age.

Keep him

Two reasons Gerard.

A) It is obviously true

2) It is such a pointless comment, it just had to be Cambiasso.

Why is it pointless?

Many posters have said that Cambiasso will walk into Prem teams next season.

I've said I think that's rubbish. But if we go down, Schlupp will........

It's only pointless because you say so?

lol

What was the point in saying more prem teams would want Schlupp than Cambiasso next season when the latter is 34 this season. Also no one else even mentioned Cambiasso. It would make sense if the topic was about who do you think more prem teams would want next season, Schlupp or Cambiasso?

Because a lot of people over the course of the season have ridiculed Schlupp, whilst saying Cambiasso would walk into almost any Prem league side?

And I've said...that's rubbish.

If you like, I'll draw you a diagram.

For a man that doesnt care to talk about Cambiasso, it's all Col does. Definitely some closet man love trying to get out.

Cant see why a team for of technically gifted players would want someone like Schlupp. Doesnt make sense. Of anything Cambi would fit into their team a lot better.

That's your opinion bud.

Mine is that more Prem sides will want Schlupp than they'd want Cambiasso.

If we go down.

Others disagree.

It's all opinions.

Cambiasso is obviously the better player, but more would definitely want Schlupp - he is young and full of potential, simple as that.

At 22 Cambiasso was good enough to play for Real Madrid.

Jeff is 22 does anyone think he's good enough to play for Real Madrid?

He's better than Madrid in my opinion.

silly post really, Cambiasso is at the end of his career.

Schlupp in 2 years could interest R.Madrid, depends if he can transpire to his possible potential.

Even, If not he may still be good enough for the foxes.

Cambiasso hasnt got 3 full seasons left in him.1 maybe 2, thats all.

I agree with this. Cambiasso is past his peak and although he would walk in to most teams, not many teams would sign him because its so short term. Schlupp can and will be a good PL player in the future, and has plenty of years left in him. That's not saying who the better player is, but who the more attractive signing is?

Hasnt he got 3? The joint second most this season?

No, just the one league assist. And I think that was his cross that he absolutely smashed the ball into the box on the half volley. One of the best crosses I've ever seen, if only he had meant it. Could have gone anywhere.

There's no excuse for a premier league winger to create so little. Add to that the fact that he's a regular ball loser, liable to wander around aimlessly, and is a defensive liability, pace and strength is all he has going for him, and it's not as if he's particularly strong. He's quite a lanky bloke really.

:nigel:

He's a raw, inconsistent player and could make midtable if he gained a brain but he will never be on real madrids radar unless they collapse like a house of cards in an earthquake.
