Swansea City are said to have penciled down Leicester City’s Jeffrey Schlupp as a transfer target this summer.

According to the Daily Mail, the Swans are keen on the 22-year old who can be deployed on a left wing or in midfield.

The Ghana international Schlupp is contracted with the Foxes until the summer of 2017 but could remain in the Premier League if the Leicestershire club fail to retain their top flight status this term.

Leicester, who have a game in hand, are third bottom in a tight relegation race which includes Hull City, Sunderland, Aston Villa, QPR and Burnley.

Schlupp has made 28 league appearances and scored three goals.

I like Schluup. But he seems to be a jack of all trades master of none. He does an ok job at LB and an ok job LW. I would prefer to keep him as he is still young and can develop into a better player but if a serious offer came in for him then i wouldnt be too worried seeing him go. Wouldnt blame him either as Swansea look like they are a club that will be in the Premier League for the foreseeable fuure. Interesting to see if anything develops in the summer.

He's improved rapidly in his first premiership season. Is powerful and veery fast. He's practically home grown and he's got bags and bags of potential.

If he continues to improve at the rate he has done he will be a very good player within 2-3 ears.

Selling imho would be madness.

I think there are quite a few premier league teams who would take a chance on him should we go down. He's still young and has the physical attributes of a premier league player.

Bloody hope not, yes he's been inconsistent but so has nearly every other player.

Schlupp has improved this season, and has proved to be a vital asset in some games.

He's never played in midfield before...

Im calling BS

I love Jeff, he's raw but thats part of his greatness! I bit like someone said of Bolassie at POalace "Nobody knows what he's going to do, including himself!"

Quickest player in the Premier League? cant be too far off surely...

As for the transfer, I doubt we'll ask for a hefty fee so i can understand Swansea being interested.

Frustrating as we know he's got the potential to be brilliant, but his brain lets him down so often.

No doubt if we stay up and he does go, he'd score a hat trick against us next season.

I absolutely promise you, he won't.

If we do play against him next year set Mahrez on him if he's at full back, he'd get torn to pieces.

Bet he's not even in the top ten.

Bellerin at Arsenal once beat Usian Bolt over 40metres in some junior athletics championships, he must be the quickest.

A lot of lighter footballers could beat bolt over 40 metres. Obviously he's the fastest bloke in the world but he's a 200m runner really and known for his top speed not his starts.

Schlupp is the definition of inconsistent, even within the same game. Capable of outstanding play followed by unbelievably rubbish moments.

He lacks intelligence and composure but he has plenty of strong attributes. Needs to settle down to a position and work on it though, been messed around too much.

I'd definitely put him in our top 4/5 players this season, but that probably says more about our season than anything else.

As with anyone, depends what they offer as to whether we accept.

I'm happy with Schulpp at the minute providing he gets through the game without giving a goal away, last week was a success in that department.

His long term position surely has to be left wing though and it's still a major talking point if he can achieve the intelligence and consistency to make it at this level.

Obviously everybody has a price, but people underestimate the benefit of keeping hold of your players. I remember in January most people on here were adamant 5m for Vardy was a good price and we should be getting rid to WBA. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, as they say.

I hope not. He has bags of potential and is only 22. I can't believe people write him off here. He's scored 3 times in 20 appearances in his first premier league season, and another goal against Spurs in the cup. He only scored once last season and 3 times before that in the championship. He's also joint second for assists this season.

He's only going to get better, so why would we sell him to anyone else when we could be the ones to develop him.

Those who say Schlupp only has pace really need to re-evaluate, or go to more games.  You could have made that argument last year (although you'd have been wrong) but you can't this season.

He has bags of talent and even more potential, and at times his vision and technique is truly special.

He lacks composure occasionally, but that's not the same as lacking a first touch.

I hope we are never going to sell him, unless he wants the move.

He might have potential but he'll go nowhere without a brain. He is so frustrating its unbelievable and I swear for 60% of every match he's switched off.

We held off on very good offers for Morgan & Vardy when they were at their best last season from Premier League sides while we were in the Championship, so I see no reason we'd sell anyone it doesn't suit us to sell now that we're in the PL ourselves.
