cc_star Posted 24 April 2015 Posted 24 April 2015 I absolutely promise you, he won't. If we do play against him next year set Mahrez on him if he's at full back, he'd get torn to pieces. Bet he's not even in the top ten. Bellerin at Arsenal once beat Usian Bolt over 40metres in some junior athletics championships, he must be the quickest. A lot of lighter footballers could beat bolt over 40 metres. Obviously he's the fastest bloke in the world but he's a 200m runner really and known for his top speed not his starts. Over 100m, athletes are actually slowing down after somewhere around the 60m mark Bolt just slows down less than the others I'm fairly sure quite a few people could beat him over 40m or less

Bellerins time (allegedly) was taken during a sprint and compared with Bolts slowest 40m sprint. They have never raced.Britain's fastest indoor sprinter has offered a 10 grand charity wager with him and Walcott to prove that a sprinter would comfortably beat any premier league footballer in a sprint of any distance. He comments on the different styles of sprinting and a footballers doesn't come close to being the most efficient. The sprinter was unbelievably confident of victory. It was live on the radio.

Ollie93 Posted 24 April 2015 Posted 24 April 2015 Quickest player in the Premier League? cant be too far off surely... As for the transfer, I doubt we'll ask for a hefty fee so i can understand Swansea being interested. Frustrating as we know he's got the potential to be brilliant, but his brain lets him down so often. Hector Bellerin is I beleive
VLC86 Posted 24 April 2015 Posted 24 April 2015 Schlupp is the definition of inconsistent, even within the same game. Capable of outstanding play followed by unbelievably rubbish moments. He lacks intelligence and composure but he has plenty of strong attributes. Needs to settle down to a position and work on it though, been messed around too much. I'd definitely put him in our top 4/5 players this season, but that probably says more about our season than anything else. They will both come from experience. It would have been laughable last season to say he would be one of our best players this year which shows how much he has improved in such a short time. I can honestly see him having a long career in the premier league.
Gerard Posted 24 April 2015 Posted 24 April 2015 I like Schluup. But he seems to be a jack of all trades master of none. He does an ok job at LB and an ok job LW. I would prefer to keep him as he is still young and can develop into a better player but if a serious offer came in for him then i wouldnt be too worried seeing him go. Wouldnt blame him either as Swansea look like they are a club that will be in the Premier League for the foreseeable fuure. Interesting to see if anything develops in the summer. I don't think that's a particularly fair assessment. I'd like to see him become our regular left back. Ex wingers can make great left backs if they learn the defensive side of the role. If Schlupp does this he will have all the attributes required as he's quick, athletic, strong and has a certain amount of skill. I know a lot of Leicester fans don't rate him but if he was in the U21 side people would be raving about him or if we signed him from another club people would be saying it's a great signing as he has huge potential. Obviously price is a everything but anything £5,000,000 and under should be rejected instantly. Schlupp really could be anything.
Bettsj2 Posted 24 April 2015 Posted 24 April 2015 The only thing i'd miss is that dumb look he has on his face when he loses the ball, gets tackled or blaze one over the bar.
Gerard Posted 24 April 2015 Posted 24 April 2015 Obviously everybody has a price, but people underestimate the benefit of keeping hold of your players. I remember in January most people on here were adamant 5m for Vardy was a good price and we should be getting rid to WBA. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, as they say. I was one of them who said we should of sold Vardy and I hold my hands up, I got it wrong. At the time he was 28 and unproven at this level and outside the Man Utd match done very little this season. He was nowhere near the first team and strikers whose main asset is pace don't live to a ripe old age in the Premiership. As a rule if you get offered decent money for non first team players then sell them and buy someone who is going to be a first team player. As things stand now I would say Vardy is our most important player. He has pace to burn and a high work rate amongst other talents and nobody wants to play against a player like that.

Over the course of the season he has had good games and poor games in both positions. Therefore me saying he has been ok in both positions i believe to be a perfectly fair assessment imo. I do rate Schluup. He has massive potential. I would agree anything below 5 mill i wouldnt even contemplate. Above that figure maybe a consideration but we need to keep our young players and build for the future.
Richard Posted 24 April 2015 Posted 24 April 2015 I thought phil jagielka was the quickest in the pl? Also Swansea signed Marvin Emnes so anything is possible...

I would agree anything below 5 mill i wouldnt even contemplate. Above that figure maybe a consideration but we need to keep our young players and build for the future. If we're going to progress into a top six club (which is difficult but not impossible) then we have to sign or keep young players with potential to be top class. I'd rate Schlupp as potential to be top class. We're a long way off signing top class players but I'd like to see us take a chance on young players with huge potential. At the minute we have Schlupp, Mahrez and Kramaric in that boat. Signing the likes of a Robert Huth certainly have their place but I'd like us to take a chance on potential rather than the finished article.
LCCFox96 Posted 24 April 2015 Posted 24 April 2015 If we survive, as an academy product and a player always touted as really passionate about the club, I can't see this move ever appealing to him anyway. That's if Swansea even managed to have a bid accepted, which I can't see Pearson sanctioning given how involved Schlupp has been all season. He needs another few years with us to hopefully realise his full potential.
MPH Posted 24 April 2015 Posted 24 April 2015 If he continues to improve at the rate he has done he will be a very good player within 2-3 ears. Selling imho would be madness. I'll definitely be listening out for any offers for him....
Captain... Posted 24 April 2015 Posted 24 April 2015 I can understand why Swansea would be interested, and for the right money I would understand if we sold him, and I could understand why Jeff would go. His highlights reel is probably as good as anyone's in the lower half of the prem, when he is in the mood he is awesome, as good as his highlights are his lowlights are as bad, his big problem is his inconsistency. I don't think Jeff will be first choice next season (if we are in the prem) so if Swansea offered £4m+ and first team football for Jeff then this will [probably happen and I will be happy for him and give him a cheer when he returns.
desertfox2 Posted 24 April 2015 Posted 24 April 2015 As with anyone, depends what they offer as to whether we accept. I'm happy with Schulpp at the minute providing he gets through the game without giving a goal away, last week was a success in that department. His long term position surely has to be left wing though and it's still a major talking point if he can achieve the intelligence and consistency to make it at this level. Really like schlupp he's as good at times as he is bad at others if that makes sense and he's basically one of our own. He is definitely improving. I agree with you on him probably ending up as a very good left winger though. Without wanting to sound too harsh he's not the most intelligent of players and not sure how much that can be taught. The occasional brain fart he could get away as a left winger especially as he has pace and your assuming the left back is solid. As a left back you can't really as it's way more likely to result in a goal.
bovril Posted 24 April 2015 Posted 24 April 2015 The guy has bags of potential. His finishing and decision making can be improved. A good coaching team could make him a modern, mobile wing-back. Leicester fans are notoriously quick to right off young players.
Dan Posted 24 April 2015 Posted 24 April 2015 He's grown on me but I'm still not completely sold on him at this level. He isn't reliable, but to be fair to the lad, he can be a matchwinner on his day.
AyewJoking Posted 24 April 2015 Posted 24 April 2015 awful player. dont sell for anything less than £10 million.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 24 April 2015 Posted 24 April 2015 Been decent this year, think the vitriol towards him on here is, more often than not, completely unwarranted.
HesNotGudjonsonn2 Posted 24 April 2015 Posted 24 April 2015 The guy is clearly improving all the time and yes I know their will always be comments about his intelligence and decision making but he is coming on and developing well. Who is to say his faults can't he tweaked out of him and then what kind of player have we on our hands in a couple more seasons. I wouldn't be surprised if we had something fantastic. So sod off Swansea. Just my opinion of course.
shen Posted 24 April 2015 Posted 24 April 2015 His pace is absolutely electric and he is very strong too. His final product is quite hit and miss, but he has certainly contributed a lot to our positive attacking performances this season. At the start of the season I did not envisage him becoming a key player in our team. I want us to keep him simply because he has already proven he can be effective in this league, which is more than some of our other players can say. And he's bound to improve with age!
Guest Col city fan Posted 24 April 2015 Posted 24 April 2015 No surprise whatsoever for me this. A few weeks I made the claim that Schlupp may well be one of the few players to get snapped up should we get relegated. I hope it's just noise but Swansea won't be the only ones interested IMO. There will be more Prem sides wanting Schlupp than Cambiasso, for example.
GingerrrFox Posted 24 April 2015 Posted 24 April 2015 With all respect to Swansea that would be a sideways move for Jeff. Despite the current league positions of both teams, if you look at the training facilities, fan base and money available there's nothing in it. He's very settled in Leicester and if he leaves it will be to a bigger club than Swansea.
