bovril Posted 26 April 2015 Posted 26 April 2015 Sorry - couldn't stand him, before and after he signed........ He was a great defender. He'd tackle a brick wall.
Guest Electric Yetis Posted 26 April 2015 Posted 26 April 2015 Garry Parker, Purely because he was the last sticker I couldn't get in my 1994 Merlin Premier League sticker album. Resented him for it. Love him now.
Suffolk exile Posted 26 April 2015 Posted 26 April 2015 He was a great defender. He'd tackle a brick wall. I just remember him being clumsy and running around like a headless chicken. He looked sooooo poor compared with Elliott at the time........
TMELcfc Posted 26 April 2015 Posted 26 April 2015 Vardy and Albrighton... Vardy, looked like a rabbit in the headlights after his move here... Since then, he's worked his nuts off and though his finishing isn't great (at this level) I don't want a starting line up without him. And Albrighton just because he was turd in the first couple of games and I questioned his attitude. But since he's came in for Mahrez, again, I wouldn't want him missing from the starting XI.
Guest Col city fan Posted 26 April 2015 Posted 26 April 2015 Most of us couldn't stand Savage. Then he joined us and we knew we'd rather have him in the camp, spitting out, than out the camp, spitting in. He really was a bloody pest for any side in which he featured. But was an important cog in Martin's machine.
MooseBreath Posted 26 April 2015 Posted 26 April 2015 Dennis Wise Wait but now do? Scrap wise then he's a cvnt.
Donut Posted 26 April 2015 Posted 26 April 2015 Two that spring to mind for me would be Ben Thatcher and Jamie Scowcroft. Possibly Paul Dickov too.
Fox92 Posted 26 April 2015 Posted 26 April 2015 Didn't like Nugent much and he annoyed me even more when he celebrated in front of the Kop after scoring against us for Portsmouth.
Leicesterpool Posted 26 April 2015 Posted 26 April 2015 Sean St Ledger, remember seeing him on Big Ron Manager. On that he acted like a spoilt kid.
Foxhateram Posted 26 April 2015 Posted 26 April 2015 Hated Ben thatcher before he played for us, he was such a thug. He won me over. Similar story with Dabizas. Out of the current squad it has to be konchesky, dirty player at Liverpool for all those years, glad he's changed his game.
Jakemoore Posted 26 April 2015 Posted 26 April 2015 Neil Danns.....i heard that he only signed for us because we paid his agent off. But then I liked him until np got rid. In hindsight, he was never actually good enough but he always tried.
Stadt Posted 26 April 2015 Posted 26 April 2015 Hamer, I saw maybe two Charlton games last year and I thought he was poor
Leicesterpool Posted 26 April 2015 Posted 26 April 2015 Schwarzer, there was an incident while he was at Middlesbrough I haven't forgotten.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 26 April 2015 Posted 26 April 2015 Huth Couldn't stand him at Stoke Seems great for us

dayday Posted 27 April 2015 Posted 27 April 2015 Which players did you dislike before they joined Leicester but have won you over? For me I'd say Nugent Konchesky Morgan Huth I saw Nugent as a bit of a lazy journeyman and a mercenary, but he's won me over now with his work rate, and willingness to adapt his game to suit our needs. Koncheskey I thought was overrated and prone to being a bit thuggish. He's worked hard to prolong his career here though and isn't really dirty. Huth perhaps the same, has been professional so far. Morgan I thought was worse than what we had and very sluggish but he's worked hard on his conditioning and has been better than I imagined. Nugent gave up a £1,000,000 in wages to quit Portsmouth,he could of easily stayed and claimed the 40k a week he was on for the last year of his contract

He was hardly a household name before he joined us from Crewe,so I don't know how you Come to the conclusion he was hated by most Leicester fans.
bovril Posted 27 April 2015 Posted 27 April 2015 Nobody knew Savage before he joined. In his first season he was poor and mostly disliked. He game good in early 99.

All depends how much you knew about football at the time. Savage had helped Crewe get to Div 1 for the first time in their history (I think) before he left and signed for us. And he pretty much did for Crewe what he did for us. Completely got up the oppositions nose. He was always known as a terrier on the pitch, long before joining City.

Nothing about household names? Or names known to the bulk of City fans?
