MPH Posted 16 May 2015 Posted 16 May 2015 I'd be surprised if a champions league team in England offered him a starting place. I could see him at somewhere like Tottenham for £10m as no doubt lloris will be moving on...
TJB-fox Posted 17 May 2015 Posted 17 May 2015 A lot of United fans seem to think it is feasible that he could replace De Gea this summer. Couldnt see that happening myself, that link is probably because of his dad
Bettsj2 Posted 17 May 2015 Posted 17 May 2015 A lot of United fans seem to think it is feasible that he could replace De Gea this summer. Couldnt see that happening myself, that link is probably because of his dad No way is he good enough for top 4. I dont see him leaving for a team like Spurs so if he is to leave, I doubt he'd be staying in this country.
Nick Posted 17 May 2015 Posted 17 May 2015 I think we should offer him a decent contract. He's a key presence in the dressing room that's not so easily replaced.
Webbo Posted 17 May 2015 Posted 17 May 2015 I don't believe this rumour for a minute but if there was truth in it and they offered him considerably more more I wouldn't blame him for leaving. Anyway if Newcastle go down tim Krul will be available who would be a more likely target for Arsenal or a good replacement for us. Edit;Rob Green as well.
desertfox2 Posted 17 May 2015 Posted 17 May 2015 Wenger just stated on SSN that he is not interested in signing Petr Cech or any other keeper as he already has 3 world class keepers 15.20pm 3 world class keepers??? Must have been drinking.
shen Posted 18 May 2015 Posted 18 May 2015 The man certainly likes Pearson! I imagine it would take a brilliant manager, a guaranteed spot in the starting XI and a lot of £££ before Schmeichel leaves... http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/may/17/sunderland-leicester-city-nigel-pearson-premier-league-match-report
white_y Posted 18 May 2015 Posted 18 May 2015 Kasper is an extremely underrated goalkeeper in the premier league, will be a key component next season should we keep hold of him. I can't think of a realistic replacement that would be better.
Dan Posted 18 May 2015 Posted 18 May 2015 Does make me laugh how when someone performs poorly (like Schmeichel did in the first half of the season) you get lynched for criticising them back then a few months down the line after they've performed blatantly better than before. He's been very, very good since he returned from injury, and I've got to say I think we have actually missed his distribution on the counter.
AKCJ Posted 20 May 2015 Posted 20 May 2015 He was performing horiffically before his injury and I was one of the pro-Ben Hamer lot. However he's shut me up and has returned to his Championship form.
Haydos Posted 21 May 2015 Posted 21 May 2015 He was performing horiffically before his injury and I was one of the pro-Ben Hamer lot. However he's shut me up and has returned to his Championship form. Horrifically or below par? Why does it always have to be one extreme or the other on here?
Carlos88LCFC Posted 23 May 2015 Posted 23 May 2015 Kasper is a very good goalkeeper. He was as bad as the rest of the players who turned it around when needed. Looking back on it, he didn't make THAT many mistakes, I think his save to goal ratio should be pretty good compared to some of the keepers in this league, surely? 100% been key for this run with his distribution & saves. Can see why Wenger would look at him, if true. Arsenal would be countering a lot better this season with Kasper in goal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Lestoh Posted 23 May 2015 Posted 23 May 2015 I'm still pro-Hamer, wasn't fair that he was dropped for Schwarzer at all based on his performances leading up to it. If we keep Kasper, Hamer'll leave. If we lose Kasper, I'd be cautiously optimistic about Hamer replacing him.
Goober Posted 23 May 2015 Posted 23 May 2015 I'm still pro-Hamer, wasn't fair that he was dropped for Schwarzer at all based on his performances leading up to it. If we keep Kasper, Hamer'll leave. If we lose Kasper, I'd be cautiously optimistic about Hamer replacing him. Hamer was good for us, but i just think Kasper can win us more points over a season. Since he's came back he made that vital save from that looping deflection against West Ham, THAT Burnley save, the starfish save against Swansea and a few last week against Sunderland which were all vital. Matchwinner.
Webbo Posted 23 May 2015 Posted 23 May 2015 It's obvious Pearson doesn't rate Hamer. Even if Kasper leaves I doubt Hamer will be our number 1 next season. I doubt he'll even be here.
Nick Posted 23 May 2015 Posted 23 May 2015 It's obvious Pearson doesn't rate Hamer. Even if Kasper leaves I doubt Hamer will be our number 1 next season. I doubt he'll even be here. Agreed. It'll be Kasper and Schwarzer with Kasper on a big money contract and a relegation and top 6 and ££ release clause.
Nod.E Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Always been a great shot stopper and his distribution is a real asset.Since he's returned from injury he seems to have become more aerially dominant, though I suspect the new and improved, more organised Huth-led defence will have had a say in that. Takes a lot of pressure off a keeper to know you're not solely responsible for dealing with balls in to the box.I'm a keeper and my personal performance in terms of dealing with crosses was at its best when playing at uni with my 6ft 4" centre half mate who won everything. Just gives you peace of mind and confidence.
Steve Earle Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Ben Hamer has the ability to be a Premiership 'keeper...but it won't be with us:)
MPH Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Ben Hamer has the ability to be a Premiership 'keeper...but it won't be with us:) He'll get a gig at one of the promoted teams....
lestalee Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 If kasper were to go it would be a champions league club and then I still think he would play second fiddle to someone else !!
ScouseFox Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 he looks so happy every time something good happens hope we don't sell him. he looked like he'd won the World Cup when he pinged the ball to schlupp to set up our second goal on sunday

Robin JD Popley Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 He has made a massive difference since he came back into our starting eleven, makes me think his inconstitent start to season was mainly due to playing through the pain barrier. Looks like his old self again. Best keeper we've had in years.
foxinsox Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 Kasper will want to be playing every week that he is fit in the Premiership. Denmark are pushing to be in Euro 2016, and Kasper will want to be match fit for them. Any team higher up the table would quite likely have him doing Logans benchwarming position.
davieG Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/583015/Leicester-Kasper-Schmeichel-Arsenal-Transfer-News-Gossip He's not interested "I've played for four seasons in Leicester, and they are happy with me, and we have a good working relationship," Schmeichel said ahead of the summer window. "This is where I see my immediate future. "A club transfer isn't in my thinking. I am in a club where there are good coaches and owners, and it's great."
