john ridley Posted 18 May 2015 Posted 18 May 2015 Highlights on BT Sport2 tonight at 10.30 , great memories.
Guest WarehamFox Posted 18 May 2015 Posted 18 May 2015 Bad memories! Awful Ref!!!! What a c!/t he was!
melrose Posted 18 May 2015 Posted 18 May 2015 Why would a Leicester fan look forward to watching that!
Kitchandro Posted 18 May 2015 Posted 18 May 2015 Coverage complete with adverts from 1993 That bastard Steve White, ruined what would have been one of the greatest comebacks ever. I hope Beckford does the same to them at Wembley this year.
Collibosher70 Posted 18 May 2015 Posted 18 May 2015 We were robbed...at least we got it right against direby..ahh sir roger Milford a proper ref

Izzy Posted 18 May 2015 Posted 18 May 2015 So drunk that day I can hardly remember the game. Just recall Glen Hoodle taking the piss with his range of passing and running the show. All those Wembley appearances in a row seem to blend into one now. How spoilt we were!
Babylon Posted 18 May 2015 Posted 18 May 2015 I swear I still well up when Tommo gets the cut back from Whitlow and you hear the crowd "come on, yes, yes..... yeeeeeeeeees"
Bettsj2 Posted 18 May 2015 Posted 18 May 2015 I swear I still well up when Tommo gets the cut back from Whitlow and you hear the crowd "come on, yes, yes..... yeeeeeeeeees" I know what you mean. Its the commentary that does it for me. 'And now Whitlow, drives forward. And it breaks to Thompson, and Thompson......HAS EQUALISED!! ITS UNBELIEVABLE STUFF NOW!!
Solihullfox Posted 18 May 2015 Posted 18 May 2015 Think the build up to and the moment Thompson scored IS the loudest noise I have ever heard at a match - ended up around 6 rows down from my seat once the celebrations calmed down and couldn't see any of the four guys I went with but what a moment. The ref robbed us of potentially the most incredible comeback ever and can't describe the feeling of utter despair for a few days after the game.
Free Falling Foxes Posted 18 May 2015 Posted 18 May 2015 Sends shivers down my spine even now. Went crazy celebrating after Thommo's equaliser. Hugged this big fat fella behind me and when I finally calmed down I realised I had a massive gash on my leg that was pouring with blood! No idea what caused it, I hadn't felt a thing!!
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 18 May 2015 Posted 18 May 2015 Couldn't get a ticket, remember walking around my garden at half time so angry and emotional. What a game that was. There were some cracking playoff final games back then.

Also think that the noise when Thommo scored was the loudest I've heard at a game. Anyone else remember that shortly afterwards David Oldfield was very close to going through on goal to put us in front. Have always wondered what the scenes would have been like had that gone in too!

Yeah I remember it looked a better chance live than when I watched it back later.
I blame Wellens Posted 18 May 2015 Posted 18 May 2015 Also think that the noise when Thommo scored was the loudest I've heard at a game. Anyone else remember that shortly afterwards David Oldfield was very close to going through on goal to put us in front. Have always wondered what the scenes would have been like had that gone in too!The noise, as I've posted before, was unprecedented. But if you listen carefully, it is the 'screams' of amazement that stand out. 40000 fans seeing the ball going in the back of the net but not believing it. The claridge goal stands out in that respect to. But the differerence with the claridge goal is the noticeable pause in the reaction to it going in the back of the net (may be because of the fact that it came off his shin and like claridge nobody believed it had actually gone in) God I love those days. The Swindon game though and that goal, Walshie, Derby in the play offs and the equaliser against arsenal. And even scoring first against chelsea the other week. This is why we follow football. Can not be compared to other sports.
blueharmie Posted 18 May 2015 Posted 18 May 2015 I was there aged ten. Great stuff. Gutted at the end. But the 3 goals and how we came back was amazing

Gary Eatfood Posted 19 May 2015 Posted 19 May 2015 Used to love that ITV music in the opening credits. Watching a match on tv was a treat then. If I could relive any Leicester goal then Thommo's would be right up there. Supreme composure in an absolute cauldron of an atmosphere.
Big_Nige Posted 19 May 2015 Posted 19 May 2015 Jesus. Can remember crying at the end of the game (was only 10) all I'd known was football heartbreak at that point in my life. England 90, Speedie diving, White diving. Quite a good introduction to supporting Leicester really.
Suffolk exile Posted 19 May 2015 Posted 19 May 2015 I watched this as a student in halls of residence with about 50 people watching on a 14" colour porty.............afterwards I remember getting, very, very drunk indeed on Abbott ale which happened to be the guest beer in the Student union bar at a £1 pint........very, very mixed memories. Heartbreak and shortlived joy in equal measure. Pretty much sums up being a Leicester fan in the space of 90minutes!
1972 Fox Posted 19 May 2015 Posted 19 May 2015 Relived it on BT Sport last night. Brings back so many memories. Steve Walsh was immense in the air in their box. Almost unplayable. Obviously one of our club legends but probably doesn't actually get enough credit for how good he was both as a defender and a striker.
CosbehFox Posted 19 May 2015 Posted 19 May 2015 Was the game which firmly bite me. I remember the bus back being stone silent all the way back.
