Xen Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 Only potential stumbling block may be wages. I don't think Huth is the type who would, but it wouldn't be too unusual for a loan player who has been as important as Huth at their host club to realise their worth and demand a higher wage as a result. At the minute we're happy paying a set amount towards his wages (probably less than his Stoke wage), so signing him will depend on if we're able get him to agree a deal that the club is happy to finance within whatever the wage structure is. As I said, I don't think he's the type to hold us to ransom (I think generally as a club we treat players well enough to avoid that), but it's a possible stumbling block. And that's assuming we're the only bidder. At that price after seeing the impact he's had here, there's bound to be numerous other clubs who have offers accepted, who may well offer him more than us.
Finn Claw II Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 Huth won't need to uproot his family to move here, he has already played for us and knows how he will fit in, both clubs won't want to spend an eternity on this given they will have other transfer priorities (and for Stoke they will be more important). Sure there will be some negotiation but it is in no ones interest to have a lengthy transfer saga. I imagine any hold up will be due to the holiday season kicking off.
Carl the Llama Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 You know it's Summer when the board starts filling up with mentions of First4LCFC. Â Ahhh, get out the sunglasses and pour yourselves a beer, it's offseason time.
dbtcity Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 Just wait until that helmet indykalia starts firing shots
Narborough_fox Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 Delighted with £3million. One of the most important signings we'll make this summer.Â
Wymsey Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 The partnership of Huth and Morgan recently has been like Terry & Cahill at Chelsea; disciplined, forward-thinking and consistent performers.
Guest Col city fan Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 The partnership of Huth and Morgan recently has been like Terry & Cahill at Chelsea; disciplined, forward-thinking and consistent performers. Completely agree. It seems clear that Wes needs that quality beside him as it makes him up his own game. Even if we don't get Huth (this will surely be based only on whether Hughes wants to sell?), we still need that rock alongside Morgan next season. Michael Dawson good enough? He's a great lad to have around ( a Pearson type signing, if you like). Just a thought.
MC Prussian Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 http://www.first4lcfc.co.uk/blog/leicester-set-to-complete-the-signing-of-in-demand-defender/  According to this its a done deal. Not exactly Sky Sports but if this is to be believed then £3m is an absolute steal Please erase that site from your bookmarks. Immediately. Seriously. It's a fluke, a cheat, an impostor, whatever you want to call it. That portal offers nothing newsworthy other than rehashed stories of times past wrapped in a "news" package.  How people still fall for it is beyond me.

Would prefer Curtis Davies personally; played for us before a couple of seasons ago (when in Championship) and played well plus he's got the same PL experience as Morgan now.

I'd second this. A back 3 of Davies, Morgan and Huth would be excellent.
Long Eaton Fox Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 How come people are suggesting we sign all of relegated Hull's centre backs.(Davies, Chester, Dawson) Why do you think they were relegated. We need to improve!
foxfanazer Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 Just imagine if we had him from the start last season!

We need to improve! I would say they were relegated due to not being able to hit a barn door not because they were defensively poor
Bettsj2 Posted 27 May 2015 Author Posted 27 May 2015 I would say they were relegated due to not being able to hit a barn door not because they were defensively poor This. Little bit like we were under Holloway the season we went down. Back 4 of Clapham, Kisnorbo, MacAuley and Stearman was more than good enough (according to the stats). Unfortunately, the rest of the team just invited pressure. Hull's defence has suffered from not being settled. McShane, Bruce, Dawson, Chester and Davies have all been in and out constantly all season. In isolation, if you remove Upson and replace him with any one of Dawson, Chester or Davies, it would be an improvement on the squad.

sdb Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 The quicker the better. Fingers crosed. What a great start to summer recruitment this'd be. I hope Wasyl stays another year too - we shouldn't underestimate his role this season.
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 Why is everyone overseeing Was for? I think he's been immense this year. Personally I think people who would prefer Curtis Davies over Was must be deluded.
Long Eaton Fox Posted 27 May 2015 Posted 27 May 2015 McShane, Bruce, Dawson, Chester and Davies wow this lot's going to improve us. I've seen Bruce and Davies at Leicester, not good enough. Dawson, Spurs reject say no more, Chester and McShane not in Hulls first team. We need better than this lot.
Hollism Posted 28 May 2015 Posted 28 May 2015 Why is everyone overseeing Was for? I think he's been immense this year. Personally I think people who would prefer Curtis Davies over Was must be deluded. I'm not sure that deluded is the right word, but I agree for the most part. Wasilewski is a vital part of our defence IMHO
AJSLCFC Posted 29 May 2015 Posted 29 May 2015 I hope we sign him and also we are looking at Sebastian Coates from Liverpool and I think he'll probably be the one that replaces wasyl as he's not getting younger
BlueTillIDie Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 A top priority to get him signed up, come on Nige!
jock2612 Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 I am starting to get concerned that he may go elsewhere. Our pick up in form was when he started . Although EC was class his debut was in the Man Utd game before the awful run and  that didn't stop until RH came in.Wes played much better with a solid defende rand adding players such as Curtis Davis who can play well for 90 minutes then implode will just not do. Huth would be my number 1 priority.

Huth would be my number 1 priority. He's on holiday. If he signs then he'll need to be at either the Stadium or the Training Ground. If we've already arranged it with Stoke chances are he'll sign within a week of coming back so chill, no new contracts are going to be sorted until they'll all back from Thailand and had a couple days back.
