With Juve set to sign Cuardardo on loan with an option to buy, it seems a lot of the Italian clubs are doing this now due to their FFP rules, plus they have spent big money on Khedira this summer. Other than them is there anyone else even looking at him? Arsenal were quoted that figure about a year ago from memory and I wouldn't forsee the price tag holding, especially with Schalke not doing so well in the CL last season. £35m for a 21-year old with 15 caps for his country? pardon me for sounding rude but that's just stupid! Especially when Chelsea paid £32 for Hazard and he was a year younger at the time! Granted the modern day transfer market is bordering on lunacy for the amounts of money being touted about, but for me, City could easily bid between £18-20m for this guy if they were seriously looking at him!

Just stop. Julian Draxler would not take a second look at us. He's a 21 year old with another 10+ years in his career. His next move will be to a better Champions League club. You are getting slightly ahead of yourself on this one.

Fair enough if I had said someone David Silva or Ross Barkley! how many of us would have said last year we would have had someone like Inler sign? Lesteban Posted 24 August 2015 Posted 24 August 2015 I agree that Draxler is much too far fetched, plenty left on his contract (2018, I think) and coveted by some top champions league sides, we have no hope. I highly doubt that we would pay the £20-30m fee and wages (reportedly ~£90k/w inc. bonuses) that came with him anyway.As I mentioned before, the two centre backs, Matip and Neustadter (also plays DM/CM), seem the most likely candidates from those who started the match. We could be scouting with a view to next season of course.

At a push we could possibly pay the transfer fee and wages but the player would have absolutely no interest. The only way we can buy top young talent is if they are at a much lesser club than ourselves and we get a bid in when the best clubs are linked but haven't made an offer.

No one has said he was signing, all anyone has said is that based off the players that were on show at the game we were "supposed" to have scouts at, that Draxler would be an awesome player to have in our team from that lot. Whats the big deal?
