The Championship - 2015/16 Stuff It In Here

They should do the decent thing and admit to their fans they haven't got a clue what they want and are trying everything to see if something works.

Derby have spent £23m this season. Surely if they don't go up they're in trouble

crazy money. they've spent pretty much the same to challenge at the top of the championship as we have to challenge at the top of the premier league.

lol lol

Good grief, £23million is ridiculous money. Even more so at that level.

But to be fair I do think Derby will go up this season.

That's it hey. They get promoted then £23 million will be a drop in the ocean. I can see Boro and Derby running away with top 2

Sadly that's how football/the Premier League works.

Forest sign Nick Powell on loan

RE: Derby. Not only will their splurge and punt on Clement pay off, it will set a precedent for the future I think and set the Championship back five years to when we thought we could spend our way to the title. At least Boro and Derby have done it right in the manager department but in the main they'll surely be encouraging other teams to chase the £200m dream (£99m plus parachutes) by spending £20-25m on players to get up there. Equally there's a mad rush to stay in the PL and in the other thread the money Norwich seem to the flying about emphasises this. European clubs will be cashing in big time.

Still an utterly unwatchable league though as I've clearly become a PL snob, though absolute jokes that the Boro-Derby game wasn't live on Sky yet we have to deal with the other dross they decide to screen.

I like this game.

Riyad Mahrez- £400,000

Jacob Butterfield- £4,000,000

I would refrain from bragging about fees we have paid if I was you lol we paid £5 million for Matt mills. £3 million for Beckford. £9 million for kramaric. £8 million for ulloa.

We learnt and then invested in the right areas with the right people in charge. The training ground was done up, the stadium bought and touched up, we started to keep a hold of our best players despite interest for bigger clubs at times, bought wisely and into a mentality that grew a great team.

We did just chuck money at it but we evolved and are flourishing. When judging the Championship now I normally look at the sides taking similar steps, Brighton and Derby right now, Watford the season before. Money was still spent on Drinky, De Laet, Morgan, Vardy, Knocky, James even if it was 500k+ a pop it was largely spending, regardless of Fulhams slashing out 10mil plus on random lads it was still net spend.

Ipswich are a complete mystery to me though

8m from Ulloa has more than been paid back. Shame how people rate players based on their last performance.

Matt Mills wasn't awful for us. We just expected him to be Maldini.

Beckford scored a decent number of goals for us. He just never won the fans over because of his attitude.

The jury is out on Kramaric. He's not had the sort of chance your record signing should get.

Plus at least £20 on the advertising posters at the airports and motorway signs.

Matt mills wasn't awful? ERMMM.

Beckford scored 9 goals in 43 appearances. If that was in the prem then fair enough but in the championship that's awful for a £3 million striker bought from everton.

We also built a record breaking championship winning team for the price of 2 of Derby's summer signings.

£8 million for Ulloa is a drop in the ocean for how much his goals were worth. Without them we probably would have been relegated.

Kramaric yes that's not looking like the best money spent. Although you could see why we did spend that much. 22 year old, full Croatian international who had scored 37 goals in 42 games and 2 months previously had scored a hat-trick against Feyenoord in the Europa league.

Chelsea wanted Kramaric, the lad clearly has talent. He'll still be a good player with us or not

I find this ironic.

He came to us thinking he'd play regularly as he probably wouldn't have got that at Chelsea. Yet he's barely played with us lol
