This seasons underrated and grey men

Alot of discussion has taken place regarding this seasons star men obvious candidates were Huth, Cambi and Vardy.

A few players have played well but rarely get mentioned, I Think RDL played well even when oppositions attack is primarily focused upon that side of the pitch.

Schluup being another excellent performer, apart from the odd extra touch or skewed massively wide shot he has been a very excellent player.

James being my final choice, for his first premier league season he has been excellent.

who are your underrated players this season?

Morgan imo has had a good season excluding a few games when everyone was doing badly which led to him being exposed and overly criticised. Was our best player at the start of the season and also had a very solid end to it

Not sure he's necessarily underrated but Albrighton has been phenomenal imo. Was a bit uninspired by his singing in all honesty but the work rate and quality deliveries have been a major factor to our turnaround in form

King has been very consistent whenever he has played.

This one may just be coincidence, but ever since Schwarzer has arrived Schmeichel seems to command his area much better and come off his line a lot more. So whilst Schwarzer may not have been that steady on the pitch his off the field cobtribution may have been worth the signing.

You can't say De Laet! For the first third of the season two thirds of the goals we conceded came from down our right side and he consistently loses his men at corners (still did it

versus Chelsea as well).

Wasilewski has barely put a foot wrong all season and Andy King has been phenomenal in these last 7-8 games. There was spell around Christmas/January where Mahrez was single-handedly pulling us through matches as well.

Albrighton has been fantastic.

EDIT: Wouldn't say he's underrated really, but has been a consistent performer and showed real determination given he was frozen out for so long. Took his chance and fair play to him. His goal yesterday has summed up his last couple of months.

You can pin point moments where most of the squad have made important contributions. Apart from the obvious - Hamer at Stoke with some great saves, Nugent with a couple of important goals (Liverpool and WBA), Wood v Everton, Konchesky goal v Villa etc etc.

It's been a true team effort.

Completely agree with this.

I too was uninspired by the signing of Albrighton.

But his deliveries into the box and his goals have been a big catalyst in us improving as a team.

Brilliant effort.

The sports science team.(Physios to the old uns!)

Seriously, our squad hasn't suffered many injuries over the season its a massive input into why we stayed up.

Good see Albrighton on live up to the attributes that made us acquire him, he's pretty far from underrated though

But given the slating he's had on here, Morgan is by far the most underrated contributor.

Apart from a couple of bad halves of football, he's been a phenomenal saviour. If only the keeper in the first half a season, or midfield in first two thirds of a season was as solid as him!

The players that got all the plaudits were the ones that deserved it most, except Albrighton who I thought was the catalyst for our revival (with Huth)

Mahrez/Schlupp in particular had a good season but  an inconsistent, they had some shocking games.

One player who is getting very undeserved praise is Matty James imo. For me he has done nothing of note and I wouldn't be sad to see the back of him.

I thought this as well. We never really had an injury crisis, credit to the medics.

Albrighton for the last quarter of the season has been amazing. Wing back is such a horrible position to play but he and Jeff have relished it.

Our win ratio/percentage with him must be fantastic too.

Have to disagree Morgan's been atrocious without Huth. It's almost like Robert Huth has been his carer lol

Bit harsh. He's done really well to drag himself out of his slump. Huth has been a major factor but Wes has done a great job recently

Can you honestly not remember the very start of the season when he was quality and receiving plaudits from us and pundits alike?

We looked much better once Kasper had settled back into the team. Bloody good goalkeeper, can't believe there are some City fans who still don't rate him.

Don't think any contributions in our team have been particularly under rated by the mjaority of fans, get the odd poster on here saying Cambi is over rated, or Jeff is stealing a living, or Mahrez is shit etc but that's an exception. I value what every player has contributed this season, even the shit ones.

Hammond is a limited footballer and I wouldn't give him a new contract (unless Drinky leaves) but he's done his job when required.

Most of these 'underrated players' aren't underrated at all, Albrighton, Wasyl and King have been almost universally praised.

Matty James did a lot of industrious work in CM during the survival run, allowing Cambiasso to perform his magic, which goes uncredited. He's an engine in central midfield for us, a good box to box player (oh if only he could shoot) and his performances are often undervalued.
