The Doctor Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 Imagine if you were so shit that you could only score against Villa and Bournemouth. Ought to retire now.
Sunbury Fox Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 Kane was awful tonight but Woy will now be able to justify picking him in front of Vardy, so will go home happy.
Stadt Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 That was actually a good goal and it wouldn't be incredibly irritating if you knew the inevitable Kane circlejerk wasn't coming but invariably it is - Neville will be making all sorts of excuses for him, "In what was for a difficult night for Harry Kane he still managed to score which shows the character of a young but mature striker blah blah Harry Kane blah." He scored yes, fair play, was he mostly anonymous? yes, so don't let a goal get in the way of a relatively abject performance and it certainly can't justify him starting ahead of Vardy currently when Jamie offers so much more than goals.
jimmeh Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 I don't think people get what kane is about. He isn't a very good footballer. He probably doesn't claim to be. He's purely just a quality finisher. Give him the ball in the box and he will score you a goal. 28 goals in 55 appearances for spurs and 3 goals in 6 games for England. 1 in 2 record. Was van nistelrooy a great footballer? No. He was an immense finisher. Spurs aren't asking him to make things happen. They are asking him to hang around the box and if the ball comes to him to score a goal.
Corky Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 Good finish from Kane. Wasn't impressed with Spurs, very laboured. Almost too complacent at times.
Guest ttfn Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 Can't believe somebody has just mentioned Kane and van Nistelrooy in the same topic let alone the same paragraph.

But if pundits seemed to accept or realise that people wouldn't be anywhere near as arsed about him, it's the continual hyperbole about him that grates but you and your enlightened ways know best eh Jimmeh
jimmeh Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 Can't believe somebody has just mentioned Kane and van Nistelrooy in the same topic let alone the same paragraph. Because they are similar players. Van nistelrooy wasn't someone to make things happen and have a big impact on games. But he was just an amazing finisher. How can you doubt that

And Scholes played with him.
Guest ttfn Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 Because they are similar players. Van nistelrooy wasn't someone to make things happen and have a big impact on games. But he was just an amazing finisher. How can you doubt that Van Nistelrooy was probably the best back-to-goal centre forward of his generation. They're similar players in the same way that Mark de Vries and Zlatan are similar players.
jimmeh Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 SCHOLES: KANE IS LIKE VAN NISTELROOY "What makes [Kane] special? I have said before that he does not have a standout quality but scores highly across a number of categories," Scholes wrote in his latest Independent column. "The more I watch him, the more I appreciate his temperament. Playing in attack is difficult. You are under scrutiny and you have to be able to deal with that. Kane seems to do it easily. "I have said before his finishing reminds me of Ruud van Nistelrooy. The thing about Ruud was he never wanted to give the goalkeeper a sniff of saving it. Kane is the same."

ARTY_FOX Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 But van nistelrooy was a good footballer and was a better player and goal scorer than kane will ever be.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 Harry Kane just reminds me of a really good Matty Fryatt. Dribbling in a straight line for 40 yards at 2mph somehow working out for him. Fair play.
jimmeh Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 Just checked van Nistelrooy Wikipedia and apparently he scored 95 goals in 150 appearances for man United surely that can't be accurate. Incredible

jimmeh Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 he says his finishing reminds him of van nistelrooy, not his whole game. Well I don't know if you ever actually watched van Nistelrooy but he was basically a goal hanger who scored goals. And that's what kane is aswell. Obviously a big downgrade on van Nistelrooy but they are similar players. Van nistelrooy was never considered someone to make things happen or be heavily involved in games
The Doctor Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 Did someone in here seriously compare Kane to Ruud?
Babylon Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 Quite clear the point Jimmeh is making, he's never said he's as good as him just that his style is similar. Scholes says the same, so I don't understand the derision... other than it going against the usual Kane slagging off on here.
Corky Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 He's playing against his boyhood club on Sunday, big game.
ScouseFox Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 kane is prob even uglier than van nistelrooy tbf

Theres quality there and even more potential, the thing that stands out for me is the influence he has for Tottenham on the pitch at his age but lets not get carried away
Donut Posted 2 November 2015 Posted 2 November 2015 Just make a "I hate Kane" thread and shove everything in there rather than seeing embarrasing hate messages whether he scores, doesnt score, plays well, doesnt play well. Is it his fault Woy picks him? Is it his fault hes a goal every other game striker at 22? For fvcks sake give it a fvcking rest.
