ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 23 July 2015 Posted 23 July 2015 Diaby having a medical at West Brom apparently, with our sports science team I think we could've kept him fit Bloody hell, Diaby and Fletcher are gonna keep their physio very busy this season!
enmac Posted 23 July 2015 Posted 23 July 2015 Just get Barton in and have it over withMaybe not such a bad idea. The thought of Barton getting wound up by Stringer in a post-match interview makes me happy!
RizLCFC Posted 24 July 2015 Posted 24 July 2015 I was looking on whoscored.com yesterday and his stats were decent, never seen him play though Just checked his stats on there and they're not bad, watched him a few times last season and he was brilliant, he's got everything, apart from pace but we don't really need that in the middle with our wingers and full backs.
RizLCFC Posted 24 July 2015 Posted 24 July 2015 Absolute quality. Dead ball specialist aswell which is precisely what we need. Could potentially play for a team far above our level but i would do unspeakable things for this to happen It'd be worth it to bid for him. At a max he'd cost £10m, even that is peanuts for an all round midfielder like him.
Gerard Posted 24 July 2015 Posted 24 July 2015 I've said it for a few months but Charles Aranguiz. I've googled him again and guess who is talking to him? If it isn't our French nemesis Marseille and Chelsea apparently. http://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2015/marseille-trying-to-sign-charles-aranguiz/ He plays for a Brazilian side so if there are no concrete offer for him from Europe I'm sure he'd consider us as we're wealthier than any club in South America. A lot would have to go our way just to have a chance but at a reported £8m he's well within our price range but probably wouldn't be that keen on moving to us. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/453303/Chelsea-hots-Chile-ace-Charles-Aranguiz
RizLCFC Posted 24 July 2015 Posted 24 July 2015 Lassana Diarra signing for Marseille, convinced by Bielsa to join them, rejected offers from 3 PL clubs including one playing in the CL this season.
Guest bss9401 Posted 24 July 2015 Posted 24 July 2015 I'd take Barton if he weren't such a jinx. Kante if he would get a move on and Aranguiz any day of the week. Barton and Aranguiz in the same midfield would be something. Such quality but Ouch!!
TJB-fox Posted 24 July 2015 Posted 24 July 2015 **** Joey Barton no better than Drinkwater and an absolute liability
gerrytaggart Posted 24 July 2015 Posted 24 July 2015 Pogba. Great shout. I think this lad could do a job here. Get him in.
Claudio Fannieri Posted 24 July 2015 Posted 24 July 2015 Don't know if it's been mentioned before but Nigel De Jong if he fancied a return to English shores
Dan Posted 24 July 2015 Posted 24 July 2015 Selcuk Inan is probably the closest to Cambiasso that I've heard yet. I maintain we'll change our approach a bit and it'll be Nampalys Mendy.
ferry67 Posted 24 July 2015 Posted 24 July 2015 Going to get shot down here, but put Albrighton in the cambiasso role, good vision and defensively good, mahrez on the right and Kram in the slot behind the strikers. Sorted !!!
chicagofox Posted 24 July 2015 Posted 24 July 2015 Going to get shot down here, but put Albrighton in the cambiasso role, good vision and defensively good, mahrez on the right and Kram in the slot behind the strikers. Sorted !!! It's a theory and I'm not shooting you down. But in the run in both Mahrez and Albrighton were excellent. Mahrez in the number 10 role and Albrighton on the right. Why mess up two positions to try and fix one? And besides, Mahrez is MUCH better in the middle.
FoxinNotts Posted 24 July 2015 Posted 24 July 2015 As said before; Jeremy Toulalan. It's not going to happen tho. He would be ideal. He's a leader - currently Monaco Captain, decorated - won leagues, played under CR (this might go for or against) and he's a defensive mid. Experienced at 31 too. As with EC, if you were to put some box-to-box legs next to him, in the form of say Kante, we would be set.

At that age, he would be a fantastic replacement. Like for like with Cambiasso.
RowlattsFox Posted 24 July 2015 Posted 24 July 2015 Just had a quick glance at the top 4 squads to see if there is anyone knocking about who we could tempt away. Mikel Arteta maybe? Bet we end up bidding for Leroy Fer.
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 24 July 2015 Posted 24 July 2015 Don't know if it's been mentioned before but Nigel De Jong if he fancied a return to English shores He'd be class but just signed a new deal with Milan and I'm sure plenty bigger teams would take him!
Chapman66 Posted 24 July 2015 Posted 24 July 2015 De Jong get a grip ppl thinking we bigger than we are be lucky to get Barton
AJSLCFC Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 Kevin Nolan wants to leave West Ham and would be a decent signing
Spiritwalker Posted 25 July 2015 Posted 25 July 2015 Kevin Nolan wants to leave West Ham and would be a decent signing 99% of WHU fans would beg to differ.
