Izzy Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Sorry, what's the point of this post? Is there a question or just a link to tell us when next seasons fixtures are out?
ChrisWoodIsClass Posted 25 May 2015 Posted 25 May 2015 Would love West Brom home or away first, absolutely hate them
ozleicester Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 5 big games between Dec 13 and Dec 30 please, oh and if four of them could be awayers... that be great
Libertine Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 Bloody hell, not long at all. Next season will be here before we know it.
stripeyfox Posted 26 May 2015 Posted 26 May 2015 First game, last game and Boxing Day at home please. Of these three, Boxing Day is most important as it gets me out of having to go to the in-laws for dinner.
digitalalba Posted 31 May 2015 Author Posted 31 May 2015 It would surely be unlikely to start and end the season at home.
theessexfox Posted 31 May 2015 Posted 31 May 2015 It would surely be unlikely to start and end the season at home. You mean like we did this season?
shailen Posted 31 May 2015 Posted 31 May 2015 I want the fixtures in the same order. Play the bigger teams first up. Lets have Chelsea, Arsenal, United, Man City with Watford away squeezed in. Genuinely think it's easier to play these sides before they hit their stride.

digitalalba Posted 31 May 2015 Author Posted 31 May 2015 You mean like we did this season?two seasons running?
theessexfox Posted 31 May 2015 Posted 31 May 2015 two seasons running? What happened last season won't affect what happens this season in terms of fixture order, so possibly yeah.
shailen Posted 31 May 2015 Posted 31 May 2015 Last season after the World Cup was a bit different but in general, I agree with you. Yeah true, WC is obviously a big factor. But with a lot of the bigger clubs likely to spend this summer, it could be a transitional period for the first few games trying to fit those players into the team and potentially getting used to a new system. Once the big teams settle, it is hard to beat any of them. Coupled with the fact the teams coming up may have some momentum and confidence on their side, so it could be dangerous to play them first up.
digitalalba Posted 31 May 2015 Author Posted 31 May 2015 What happened last season won't affect what happens this season in terms of fixture order, so possibly yeah. There's more chance of young Pearson being apologised to by the politically correct brigade for having to apologise, than that happening.
aefevans Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 This time last year, would you guys have liked big clubs first (either for the novelty factor or to simply get the tougher games out of the way) or preferred more winnable games early in the season? I'm of the mentality that I would like a team like Sunderland at home first, in the hope that if we can get some points as early in the season as possible. My mindset is that an early run should help us on our way. I know your run of form came more towards the end of the season, but I wasn't sure what you would have preferred at the beginning.

Depends, we ended up with Arsenal, Chelsea, United etc very early on and thought it had worked in our favour, before the infamous collapse against the likes of West Brom, Sunderland, Burnley, Palace. Getting off to a good start is always a bonus and can build the foundations, but as us Sunderland etc have proved, it doesn't matter when your points come (although it does save the nerves and fingernails!). I mean, there's never a good time to face the big sides, but getting them out of the way early when they're not firing on all fronts is favourable imo, as proved by our run against the worser sides at the end of the seasons. It probably would have been a lot harder if we had a couple games in that mix similar to the Chelsea one. Swings and roundabouts!
CosbehFox Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Big teams early doors. Get them whilst teams are fielding new signings and a summer involving the Copa America. We caught an Everton side with no Lukaku, an Arsenal side fielding Sanogo upfront (plus played in CL a few days before) and Man United still finding their way in terms of players/system. A Sunderland for example will be up for that game exactly the same as you.

Was happy with Everton at home first last season, a Premier League name to play against who's big enough to be highly motivated by, but not one of the big 4 where a defeat is the most likely outcome In general though would like the bigger teams earlier, after a few games they tend to hit their stride better.

Wymsey Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Want Man Utd at home first. Absolute 'carnival' atmosphere, due to new season and considering the result last time round at our place against them. Don't want Stoke and Watford away either on Boxing Day or New Year's Day.
CosbehFox Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Lukaku played, probably didn't notice him because he was stuck in Morgans pocket the whole game. Good point. I remember him being doubtful pre match though.
