cullenfox Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 A heavy fine and suspension? How much money are we talking? They are not first team players, so they are probably on GBP5,000 a week max? Fine them 3 months wages GBP60,000? And a suspension from what? They are not first team. Neither punishments seem severe enough. They should be sacked. Sacking doesn't sound like the best of ideas to me. Suspend them from all football activities, fine them the highest amount possible, and let them know there're on their last chance.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 The only serious thing about this whole episode is the apparent racist comment Everything else is rubbish
Merging Cultures Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 The women were there as consenting adults. And were presumably paid for their services Not sure how they were forced to do things that they didn't want to do Trying to get in the papers? I think they'd recognise that you are being an idiot and not quote that rubbish.
sylofox Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 Some of the 'I am disgusted' comments are just what the tabloids want. Sell more papers to Joe Public that way which will increase the 'I am disgusted' 'Should not be allowed' 'It would not happen in my day' 'Ooh these young people today, no manners' You're right the camera had not been invented let alone video lol
BoneDog Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 There are no rhinoceros on the island nation of Japan, you must be confusing Asia with Africa. That may be true but I find this highly suspicious - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-16950361 Are they using this excercise as a front for training Rhino hunters?
sylofox Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 The only serious thing about this whole episode is the apparent racist comment Everything else is rubbish So without the racist comment you think it goes not damage our clubs good name? They deserve to be sacked for the whole think not just the comment.
EnderbyFox Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 Boys being boys. Ah yes, the classic male act of getting rimmed by a thai prostitute whilst shouting racial slurs, those were the days eh
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 Trying to get in the papers? I think they'd recognise that you are being an idiot and not quote that rubbish. Eh?
Merging Cultures Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 Sacking doesn't sound like the best of ideas to me. Suspend them from all football activities, fine them the highest amount possible, and let them know there're on their last chance. 2 weeks wages and not having to train for a bit... after treating women like meat, being racist, embarrassing the club in the owner's country and possibly damaging future revenue? They are/were representatives of the club. They have let themselves, the club, owners, NP, and the fans down. Gross misconduct, means they should be fired once the club has done the due process.
cc_star Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 I thought Tom Hopper was a big baby, looking at his face on the video. Big baby? They'd have to pay extra for that
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 Some people need to get over to Thailand, and experience all the delights on offer
brisfox Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 While accepting that these lads have made a very bad mistake and will undoubtedly face severe punishment, perhaps it is time to have some compassion, both on them and their families. We have all made mistakes in life, Jesus once said "Let he who is without sin, let him cast the first stone". For those of you out there who are perfect, feel free to lob the first brick.
Babylon Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 You cannot be serious. I'm sure he is. Were they consenting, yes to the acts that were requested. Were they forced to do it, not from what I can see. But then of course there is the flip side they they could have been forced into prostitution itself due to numerous factors. By participating yes the players are encouraging that market etc, but the acts were not forced by the players themselves. They requested and received without obviously thinking about why those women are in the position they are.
Jimothy Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 And your thoughts are so special they need their own thread whilst us plebs use the other one to talk about these twats?
JAPANFOX1 Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 That may be true but I find this highly suspicious - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-16950361 Are they using this excercise as a front for training Rhino hunters? Oh dear..... Unfortunately, there are morons with moronic ideas in every country.
foxoffderby Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 Why couldn't you put your 'thought' in the thread which is all ready running? What's so good about your statement? I don't get it
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 So, really the only people that have done well from this whole situation, are the press and the women in question?
Finnegan Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 The only serious thing about this whole episode is the apparent racist comment Everything else is rubbish It isn't an apparent racist comment it's an actual racist comment and it's directed at a woman of the same ethnicity as his billionaire employer. The mind absolutely boggles. That said, it's not the worst thing about this story at all. By far the worst thing here is the abject mysoginy and the fact plenty of people apparently see this as normal.
An Away Move Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 Exactly the same kind of behaviour that 'Put Britain First' types hate 'outsider muslim gangs' doing to 'our girls' in 'our country'. It isn't just lads having a good time. It is racist and misogynist. Done to the country people of your hosts who have paid for your trip. Despicable. Anyone who condones it or is an apologist for this kind of behaviour needs educating.
Head Honcho Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 What did they do wrong? Done worse, just didn't film it. The rat that leaked the video needs a good kicking!
Merging Cultures Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 Some people need to get over to Thailand, and experience all the delights on offer People should. The food is lovely. They should also have a massage and visit some of the temples. Also, if they do have sex with an adult, whether paid for or not, I suggest not recording it, especially if you are on a work trip and you are in the 'public eye'.
TOMBlcfc Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 I don't think compassion comes into it. If anyone on a work trip hired (and filmed) having sex with prostitutes they would be fired at the very least. This along with the derogatory and racist language used puts the nail in the coffin for me. Stupid actions, severe consequences. I'm not going to hold it against them for years or anything I just think it shouldn't be taken lightly
