chapero82 Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 Don't think you can assume they are being forced into prostitution. I did not assume I said more than likely as most women over there are forced into it
shailen Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 I love the way NP and the owners run this club. It would be a joke if further action is not taken on these players. Those who are saying "boys will be boys" are just plainly wrong. They did this whilst at work, and the racist connotations as well as the way they treated those girls, is just disgusting to see. This will have an impact on our image globally, least not in Thailand...the damage has already been done. If the club want to save face, they need to get rid for me. Send a message that this sort of behaviour will not be tolerated. Even if our star players were involved, we should get rid. Look at how Fergie ran his club. Players like Beckham, Keane, Tevez, Morrison, Pogba....some of the best players there were removed because they thought they were almost bigger than the club. We must follow the same policy, and make no exceptions regardless of who was involved. The way football is run now, image means a lot and these players have tarnished it.
cambridgefox Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 It's a long flight home for those 3, I can picture Wasyl just glaring and snarling and kicking their seats. The Thais have a culture of looking after each other, this must be highly embarrassing and shocking for our owners and rightly so.its in their backyard. This has tarnished our reputation there for sure, which in turn has cost us lots of £s. At what point do you film that and even worse send it to people.Very idiot.
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 Of course, but I am wondering that's all - not seen the videos From what I can make out in the videos there is 1 racial slur (slit-eye) but you can't say for sure who said it
westernpark Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 The comment from FARE is out of order. You only have to look at the Wayne Brown incident to see how seriously he takes racism. Also I don't think this is something Nigel could have personally prevented.
leicsmac Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 How can the serious crime of racism be treated as a joke? Don't think you can assume they are being forced into prostitution. I think it's a reasonably safe assumption to make.
FrankieWorthoYaggedMyWife Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 Racism is a very bad crime, close to paedophilia and murder, so do we expect them to spend their careers in a Thai jail? no, no its not
MrSpaM Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 It makes you wonder what the other players mrs' are going to think when they get home as well, considering this is what the academy players are getting up to over there
melrose Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 I think it's a reasonably safe assumption to make. No one forces the girls to do it, they are not sex slaves, it's the easiest or the only way that they can make good money! It's their choice ultimately!
5waller5 Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 Not only is this probably the stupidest thing a LCFC players has done, but it's the stupidest timing too. The season is complete by one day, Sepp Blatter has been re-elected ..... The football loving public are coming to terms with no football for a summer and the papers have nothing for the back pages ..... And then as if a gift from above - 3 idiots film themselves with process, for good measure they do it in the owner's country and insult them with some lovely stereotyping (racism). The journos must love it - they've literally filled a void.
Guest safetosurfthisbeach Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 So three overpaid young sportsmen get taken on an all expenses paid trip to a far way country notorious for sex tourism at the end of a tumultuous season. Who could have predicted anything like this could happen? The club is partly at fault for not briefing them properly, but the 3 concerned are complete morons and should be released by the club. Why do idiots like this have to film everything they do on mobiles? The only good aspect is that this was initially reported in the Daily Mirror - it has no credibility. Unfortunately, it appeared in the Guardian too.
Stevosevic Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 I don't see what the club could have done to stop this without putting them on lock down. They've been grade A idiots, I can't imagine how Nigel feels about all of this.
LanguedocFox Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 Someone educate me about La Manga? There were two La Manga incidents. The first was in February 2000, just before the League Cup Final with Tranmere, when the players got seriously drunk and Stan Collymore let of a fire extinguisher: it's here, number 3: http://www.theguardian.com/sport/blog/2013/mar/08/joy-of-six-football-trips-gone-wrong The second one, potentially more damaging, was in March 2004, when six City players were accused of sexually assaulting three German women: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/leicestershire/3534827.stm. Keith Gillespie, Paul Dickov and Frank Sinclair were charged, but the cases were dropped when it was shown there was no forensic evidence. There were also suggestions, following a News of the World sting, that the three women were prostitutes, although they denied it. There is perhaps an argument for not allowing our players to go abroad unless to a remote island and under armed guard.
HitchinFox Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 No one forces the girls to do it, they are not sex slaves, it's the easiest or the only way that they can make good money! It's their choice ultimately! Sweet lord.
melrose Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 Racism is a very bad crime, close to paedophilia and murder, so do we expect them to spend their careers in a Thai jail? What a complete load of boll@cks! You sir are a tw@t!

Unfortunately, it appeared in the Guardian too. It has appeared in virtually every news outlet worldwide, from Huffington Post to the BBC to NBC. While I agree with the sentiments of your post, there must surely come a time when you treat players like adults. They are all in their 20s FFS: not 15 year-olds.
Ollie93 Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 I think it's a reasonably safe assumption to make. No it is not, you don't know their circumstances, therefore cannot make an assumption. I did not assume I said more than likely as most women over there are forced into it Probably the most stupid thing I've read on this entire thread.
Finnegan Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 Should the blame for the kind of lad culture you explain, lay at the hands of the wider society that we all live in, or is it just an individual mindset? Maybe they don't believe in the culture of life that you do? The depressing amount of people in this thread alone arguing that what happened was no big deal answers this question.
leicsmac Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 No one forces the girls to do it, they are not sex slaves, it's the easiest or the only way that they can make good money! It's their choice ultimately! Exactly. But the choice between sex work, begging or starvation isn't much of a choice, is it? I honestly wish there was universal freedom of choice, but the nature of the world means it simply isn't the case. In this case, it's the illusion of a choice as all choices either lead you to become a ridiculed pariah in the eyes of judgemental tosspots, or dead.
yorkie1999 Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 The comment from FARE is out of order. You only have to look at the Wayne Brown incident to see how seriously he takes racism. Also I don't think this is something Nigel could have personally prevented. Somebody could have done though, simply by making sure players going out on the razz don't take their mobile phones with them.
leicsmac Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 No it is not, you don't know their circumstances, therefore cannot make an assumption. Probably the most stupid thing I've read on this entire thread. As above. Their choice is purely illusory.
Merging Cultures Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 No one forces the girls to do it, they are not sex slaves, it's the easiest or the only way that they can make good money! It's their choice ultimately! Read through some of my earlier posts. I might be 'imagining' a lot as others have said, but that is only because I don't want to talk in absolutes, and I am giving typical examples of how poverty leads to a lack of choice and sometimes to women engaging in transactional sex.
Ollie93 Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 As above. Their choice is purely illusory. Have you ever been to Thailand?
