Premier League stars' racist orgy shame caught on camera during Thailand tour

They been sacked yet? Don't understand the hold-up.

There is a legal process to go through, possibly appeals too, it won't happen in one day.

No one forces the girls to do it, they are not sex slaves, it's the easiest or the only way that they can make good money!

It's their choice ultimately!

You have no idea how these girls are lured into Bangkok from the countryside by agents, the promises they are made and the threats which are made against their family members if they do not comply. I suppose you think that the children abused at the hands of Gary Gilter were also expressing their freedom of choice or the people dying in boats trying to get to Europe should have known better. Violence and the sex industry go hand in hand in places like this.... You are clearly speaking from a position of priviledge and a position lacking in any sense of awareness or knowledge about this area of the world or the plight of women in such countries.

Exactly.

But the choice between sex work, begging or starvation isn't much of a choice, is it?

I honestly wish there was universal freedom of choice, but the nature of the world means it simply isn't the case. In this case, it's the illusion of a choice as all choices either lead you to become a ridiculed pariah in the eyes of judgemental tosspots, or dead.

I've run out of +1s for today

I am glad you are involved now as I am getting fed up of explaining poverty and its effects.

Some people choose prostitution, sure, but more often than not they are forced into it, not necessarily through physical violence but through poverty and a lack of opportunities.

I wish I could take some of these FTers with me on my trips across Africa.

I'm not sure any woman has prostitute as their number 1 career choice.

Have you ever been to Thailand?

Yes, and a fair few other places where women have a choice between only sex work and abject poverty. Of course, it's not the case for all of them there and I'm pretty sure that some women there go into that industry with other choices available, but I'd say that's the exception rather than the rule.

And I'm also willing to trust the judgement of Merging Cultures on this as he's travelled and worked in these environments far more than I have.

All I'm saying is we can sit here in our comfortable homes or offices and wax on about freedom of choice as much as we like, purely because we have so, so much more of it than other people around the world.

Once again, how do we even know these girls are prostitutes?

It's a fair point, and it doesn't really matter if they were or were not, they treated the women with disdain and racist language. The whole act has tarnished the image of the club.

As a side note to the thrust of this discussion.

Today I went into work and suddenly people who have never spoken to me about football in years are speaking about LCFC.

The embarassment and shame which I felt in having to speak about the topic in a polite manner (with no mention of rimming) extends far beyond Thailand, LCFC, the UK and those three idiots. Also, how bad do I feel for a couple of my mates who are married to ladies from the region? How bad do I feel facing these ladies (many with PhDs) when the club that I passionately support associates me with these rancid acts?

I am more angry today about this than when I first heard the news.

They will have to have meetings with the clubs hierarchy in the presence of lawyers and PFA reps first to explain themselves and try and justify their actions.

The club then have to inform the lawyers of their intent to cancel their contracts to which the players can appeal.

It will certainly take a while

It's a ridiculous male fantasy that a large number, maybe even the majority, of women in the sex trade are there because they think it's a great life choice and they love it because they're absolute sluts.

I don't know why you're even bothering arguing with the sort of moronic knuckledraggers that actually believe that shit. They're too ****ing retarded to read your point and absorb it.

Understood. But isn't their gross misconduct pretty cut and dry? Does the appeal not come after the fact, rather than before it?

Obviously my knowledge on employment law is pretty poor, but I kind of expected the club to come down a little harder (excuse the pun) than the lukewarm statement we've had so far.

So three overpaid young sportsmen get taken on an all expenses paid trip to a far way country notorious for sex tourism at the end of a tumultuous season.

Who could have predicted anything like this could happen?

The club is partly at fault for not briefing them properly, but the 3 concerned are complete morons and should be released by the club.

Why do idiots like this have to film everything they do on mobiles?

The only good aspect is that this was initially reported in the Daily Mirror - it has no credibility. Unfortunately, it appeared in the Guardian too.

That is the most ridiculous comment I have seen in this thread.

Jimmy Kranky  could have reported this story they fact there was a video showing all 3 gave it away as being true.

The only mistake they made was claiming it was 3 prem players.

Let's assume we believe the club couldn't legally dismiss them outright (come the **** on) they could easily shunt them to the background indefinitely and run out their contracts on gardening leave or whatever. I highly doubt any of them have 3 or 4 year deals.

Pearson is out of contract, the other 2 have a year left

T hose of you wanting a quick sacking would do well to remember the Dennis Wise incident where he was sacked instantly subsequently suing lcfc which ultimately played a massive part in forcing us into administration.

I'm not talking about freedom of choice, I'm saying you have no right to assume anything about these women as you don't know them or know their backgrounds, you are stereotyping them into a group which are forced into the trade, which inevitably is a small percentage.

he sued because he is a miserable, mardy *words deleted due to risk of mods thinking ive gone OTT.* these guys have been caught bang to rights. they will be hauled in front of a proper disciplinary panel and dismissed for bringing the club into disrepute.
