The immediate area is already at capacity on match days so increased parking demand will be diluted further afield. 10000 extra people and it wont get any worse? Eh? And the council will introduce more permit areas, parking prices will rocket future. Besides it matters not the council will probably insist on a guaranteed travel plan bearing in mind we still haven't complied with the agreed travel pland from when the stadium was built, they'll take some convincing. I'd like to see the owners coughing up some cash to get the Ivanhoe/ National Forest rail line up and running with a station at the back of the KP, maybe even get their name sponsor on it The King Power Line Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Whilst I want the club to grow, growth needs to come from actual fans otherwise an expansion serves no purpose other than fulfilling a short term demand. Some might argue that commercially the club stand to benefit however, that is based on the assumption that success is maintained year on year to cover the investment in order to break even and eventually make a profit. Also ticket sales revenue only represents a very small proportion of the clubs income what with the new tv deal about to kick in so expansion wouldn't really offer too much added value from a revenue perspective. Purely from a business point of view if the owners wanted to capitalise on our new found success they'd be far better keeping the stadium as it is and ramping up the ticket prices. I appreciate that this wouldn't be a popular decision amongst the true fans but whilst demand outstrips supply they can dictate the price without any additional outlay. If the extra seats allow more kids to go and establish a relationship with their local team then this is a positive step, however if it simply creates seats for the johnny-come-lately type who have previously followed Liverpool, Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, City, etc. and have rocked up to watch Champions League football and take selfies I'd rather we didn't bother as they won't stick around unless we're continually winning things. The fact that anyone is even debating expansion suggests plenty of people have jumped on the Leicester bandwagon, however it was only a few years ago when we were averaging 24/26,000 per game and the excuses for not going we're that football was becoming too expensive. How ironic that despite increases in ticket prices, now that the club is experiencing a period of success on the pitch suddenly price is no longer an issue. That is a brilliant idea - really easy to get to from anywhere, would add barely any traffic into the city but would be able to cater for hundreds if not thousands of extra people on matchdays if they got it right. Voll Blau Posted 24 February 2016 Share Posted 24 February 2016 I asked someone on the FCC to raise the P&R idea, possibly expanindg it to run from local village pubs to the ground, and believe the response was there wasn't enough room for the buses. Be good if the land behind the East Stand could be better used to accomodate that as we desperately need better infrastructure if the ground is to be expanded. Park & Ride is great for getting to the ground as people come at all different times, getting people back though would be very difficult as you'd need a fleet of buses going to the different P&R sites all at the same time not an easy thing to organise let alone have that many buses available. Thats a very negative outlook on the situation. Yes, the future COULD be bleak, but you cant possibly predict what the future will hold. The club are in a fantastic situation right now, in the present. and the short term immediate future is looking absolutely fantastic, last season we sold out every week in a relegation scrap. we could easily fill 42000 seats in the Premier League, and add a potential champions league campaign to that and we're never going to struggle to fill an extra 10,000 seats. The current owners are vastly rich and insanely ambitious. they want to establish the club as a top 5 club, and if we can achieve that, the fanbase would easily outgrow even the 42000 capacity.
