katieakita Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 We have been linked with this guy for some time, the backroom staff know him so he will be exactly the same player as if Pearson was still here, so what's the problem? positives are that CR is trusting the scouting network we thought was brilliant before Pearson left.
Benguin Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 okay What? We need a midfielder, we've apparently bid 8mill for Chester, why not try and squeeze out a player who, albeit not the quality we desire, is proven at this level?
Fox92 Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 We should offer 10mill for Chester and huddlestone Me mates a STH at Hull and doesn't rate Huddlestone. All relative of course because it's down to personal opinion.
Staffs Fox Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 If we've been scouting him for a while then why have we left it until he's virtually signed for WBA to make our move?? I think this is another one we'll miss out on
Nick Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/leicester-city-hijack-west-brom-move-for-hull-city-defender-james-chester--reports-10421762.html I like the idea of us hijacking somebody else's bid for a change!
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 He'd be here in an instant if Pearson was still here. Hardly as he tried to sign him a few times before

I think this is another one we'll miss out on Or perhaps you realise if it is us bidding for a Hull player the fee is more. Would imagine the players agent has leaked the agreed fee that we apparently have matched so we come into the running, it is not a done deal his agent clearly wants a better deal for him. Maybe money or maybe he has on ongoing neck problem that will not be helped looking up into the sky at WBA.

jimmeh Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 What? We need a midfielder, we've apparently bid 8mill for Chester, why not try and squeeze out a player who, albeit not the quality we desire, is proven at this level? Because huddlestone is worth more than 2 million?
Max Power Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 Have we not tried to sign him several times before and always been rejected? Wasn't there a thing with Hull and Pearson where they just refused to deal with him over transfers?
Jimothy Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 What about them? They still hurt after Joey Barton punched him in them last season?
Burmesefox Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 Hull fan sez he's "really good". You say he's "fvcking shit". It reminds me of Plato and Socrates debating in the streets of ancient Athens... one of the best things I have read on FT. classic mate - made my day!
weller54 Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 BUT CAN HE PLAY MIDFIELD Or, more importantly.. Up front!!
weller54 Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 Oh well if he's really, really good then its fine. Only want him if he's really really really good!
st albans fox Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 Two things 1) if we want to gazump wba, why are we matching their bid (allegedly). We should be offering another half mill at least 2) if we have identified him as a target, why wait till now to try and buy him when it could be too late? Doesn't seem very organised to me
MPH Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 Hull fan sez he's "really good". You say he's "fvcking shit". It reminds me of Plato and Socrates debating in the streets of ancient Athens... Hmm. Chester talked about in the same sentance as Plato and Socrates... Thats a new one!

lgfualol Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 That is just bad business why offer more than 8m when it has already been accepted? They won't unaccept WBAS bid now So they can pat themselves on the back and say we tried.
Carlos88LCFC Posted 28 July 2015 Posted 28 July 2015 Does this mean Morgan isn't going to be in the first team plans? Can't see us spending 8m+ on a defender that's going to sit on the bench. Huth and Chester at the back would be pretty good. Still need to sort midfield out though.......
