Wymsey Posted 24 June 2015 Posted 24 June 2015 It's to make the upcoming season to seem more 'fascinating' - perhaps lazy journalism. Seriously think Dick Advocaat will go first.
Nalis Posted 24 June 2015 Posted 24 June 2015 Sky can believe what they want, I'm happy to let Pearson prove them wrong.
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 24 June 2015 Posted 24 June 2015 Nige is favourite according to SkyBet Leicester City's Nigel Pearson installed as the new favourite for the sack Nigel Pearson has been installed as the new 3/1 favourite (Sky Bet) in thePremier League Sack Race. The Leicester City boss had been priced at 6/1, however this morning (Wednesday) he has replaced Liverpool's Brendan Rodgers (now 6/1) at the summit of the market. Pearson miraculously saved Leicester from the dreaded drop last season after registering a remarkable 22 points from the club's final nine matches, which secured an impressive 14th place finish. The Foxes looked doomed in March, but that incredible late run of form meant they finished six points above the relegation zone, and 11 points ahead of rock-bottom QPR. Pearson was frequently in the spotlight last term; due to his bizarre clashes with the media, players and even supporters. The 51-year-old's infamous labelling of a reporter as an "ostrich" was just one of many memorable moments (see video). Pearson was also rarely far from the top cluster of managers in the Sack Race market. The ex-Southampton gaffer even reportedly suffered the sack back in February, only to be reinstated straight after, in one of many perplexing incidents involving the former defender. Pearson's achievements at the end of the last season means that he is undoubtedly safe for now, however a rocky start to the upcoming campaign could pile on the pressure. Leicester have been handed a fairly decent opening period, starting with Sunderland at home on 8 August, followed by games against West Ham, Spurs, Bournemouth, Aston Villa nd Stoke. Might have a tenner on that especially with Watfords current owners.
4everfox Posted 24 June 2015 Posted 24 June 2015 I'd stick my money on Pellegrini being first to get the chop. Ancelotti is available.
Guest Posted 24 June 2015 Posted 24 June 2015 Can't believe Pellegrini is still in a job the brutal way Man City usually treat managers.
skmanuk Posted 24 June 2015 Posted 24 June 2015 Highly likely the media and many pundits are very bitter about us staying up. Id expect a few more things like this over the summer. We'll be tipped for the drop again by many no doubt. Why would they be bitter?
Strokes Posted 24 June 2015 Posted 24 June 2015 A long shot but my money goes on koeman after he fails to replicate this seasons form.
Leicesterpool Posted 24 June 2015 Posted 24 June 2015 Can't believe Pellegrini is still in a job the brutal way Man City usually treat managers. I actually thought he'd be the first to go once the season had ended. First to go I think will be Norwich, i think unless they make a positive start then I can see Alex Neil leaving by early as October. Lambert to return to Norwich?

Imagine Lambert back there be a good fit for all parties.
MC Prussian Posted 24 June 2015 Posted 24 June 2015 Why would they be bitter? Because in a way, when you treat his past "antics" as negligible or unimportant in the grand scheme of things, there's a certain amount of bias within the press coverage with regards to Pearson. I think with the way things were going up until February/March, some people were already counting the days up until he'd get the sack, glowing with joyous anticipation. He's proven them wrong, so you could look at the current odds as some kind of angry reaction/backlash. I can but assume there were a few individuals who cashed out nicely at the end of last season because of the late success, much to the chagrin of many a bookie.
Guest MattP Posted 24 June 2015 Posted 24 June 2015 All over Flores at 8/1. Watford have showed they love to pull a trigger and they have the worst start of any club over the first couple of months.
C-man Posted 24 June 2015 Posted 24 June 2015 longest serving manager after Wenger? Must be off soon then.
thpike Posted 24 June 2015 Posted 24 June 2015 Who doesn't love a manager that takes the game by the balls...er throat. That's the kind of manager/coach that gets you far here in the States
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 24 June 2015 Posted 24 June 2015 This must be purely based on the thailand incident rather than actual results. Eh?
sly1 Posted 24 June 2015 Posted 24 June 2015 I would say Rogers definitely ist to be sacked bottom 10 for me
Banks Posted 24 June 2015 Posted 24 June 2015 I've heard that IF we do sack NP, we'll move for Klopp or Ancelotti.
Rich Fox Posted 24 June 2015 Posted 24 June 2015 Got to he Sherwood at Villa to be sacked, he is so overrated
Guest Posted 24 June 2015 Posted 24 June 2015 Certainly won't be the first sacked. What price do they offer for him not to be the first sacked.
Stadt Posted 24 June 2015 Posted 24 June 2015 Tbf to Watford most of their managers haven't been sacked, one left with health problems, whilst two others resigned?
st albans fox Posted 24 June 2015 Posted 24 June 2015 Pellegrinni to go if citeh make a bad fist of their CL group.
Guest Col city fan Posted 24 June 2015 Posted 24 June 2015 Highly likely the media and many pundits are very bitter about us staying up. Id expect a few more things like this over the summer. We'll be tipped for the drop again by many no doubt. Eh? You don't half talk some guff
Super_horns Posted 24 June 2015 Posted 24 June 2015 Tbf to Watford most of their managers haven't been sacked, one left with health problems, whilst two others resigned? That is right but the press don't like to report the facts if it doesn't make a good story. Still I agree there will be pressure on Flores - from the fans as we all liked "Slav" and once we start losing a few the doom and gloom merchants will be out in force.
EastAnglianFox Posted 25 June 2015 Posted 25 June 2015 I think Martinez at Everton could be in trouble if improvements are not made early on, worth a £5 at 16's.
Fox92 Posted 25 June 2015 Posted 25 June 2015 Got to he Sherwood at Villa to be sacked, he is so overrated How is he overrated? Did a decent job in his short spell at Spurs Got Villa out of trouble (sort of), at least they were scoring goals, and guided them to an FA Cup final.
