Claudio Ranieri?

Clearly a talented manager but I just can't see it working out. Like it or not, Allardyce and O'Neill would have suited us better at this moment in time.

More worrying is the evident panicked scatter-gun approach that the club have made to this appointment. There was no contingency plan in place and the only requirement seem to be that they needed to be high-profile. We've ended up appointing a man who probably wouldn't have been considered had he not expressed interest in the press.

But that's it. Pearson is gone, they had to find someone. Why not go for a high profile manager? If he's good enough for milan and chelsea, why not us?

No gaurentees the deal is done... YET, i don't think

Could be the kick up the arse needed for O'Neill to resign too.....

Would you have sent back Cambiasso last year?

Not exactly the same is it? As players age they generally become less capable of performing to previous heights, managers should not be effected to the same extent.

What worries me more than anything about Ranieri is that he doesn't seem to have been at a side who are likely to struggle in their league for some time, it'll be interesting to see how he adapts from managing big clubs to, well, managing us.

And you know this to be true because ?

I think we spoke to several candidates and decided o'neill was the best bet. He wouldn't resign so we went to candidate no 2.

I have no idea if my theory is correct either!

He managed Monaco.. are they a big club?

Why isn't he still at any of those clubs?

He did good to build those teams back up and get them CL but wasn't deemed good enough to win titles... with us it will be the building job that we need

Don't see him as the right fit for our club, whatever reputation he brings. Don't think our club needs a big shake up now; we've got a good settled squad and good infrastructure, I fear where this is headed but time will tell.
