Claudio Ranieri?

Think MON would be a better option to be honest. At least it's not Preki.

Dunno what to think. He did well with Juventus. The Greece job puts me off, mind, I mean who gets sacked from Greece!? Seems to spend a bit of money, too.

Greece hardly have any decent players tho do they

There are only 5 bookies online now taking odds on the Leicester manager.  Why have they all now gone suspended?

ranieri will bring some good footballing knowledge. MON would bring nostalgia. Preki would most likely bring his own cones to training.

I see People asking about what signing Ranieri made as Chelsea boss so I thought I'd make a list, I bolded the players I think could be deemed successful

Gallas

Lampard

Petit

Gronjkaer

Zenden

Abramovich era

Macho- Free

Ambrosio- Free

Glen Johnson

Geremi

Makelele

Bridge

Duff

Joe Cole

Veron

Crespo

Parker

Mutu

A real mixed bag but there's some real key signings in Chelsea's success there and strangely much better without all the money!

Also some of them not deemed successes weren't bad players but it just didn't happen at Chelsea (Crespo, Johnson, Parker) and we all know about Mutu

Maybe this is to push Martin into making a decision! we have been known to string players and mangers along to get our man!

I can sense a Pearson third term commencing come Christmas!

I don't feel or see the fit of Ranieri and Leicester. I hope to be wrong, but I'm kind of meh! about the potential appointment - although truth be told most of the names touted would have drawn a similar reaction from me.

That's my concern. I don't think he can do well here without changing too much, and we can't afford a lot of upheaval at this stage.

I doubt he'll last the whole season.

He is a competent enough manager has managed in the prem before.

Scott Parker and Glen Johnson played in the premier league post Chelsea stint so that could be considered decent enough.

He's good enough for Inter Milan, Juve, Chelsea, Roma and Monaco but not Leicester...... I do wonder about some of our fans at times

Why isn't he still at any of those clubs?

Have a look at Sven's CV. I wouldn't have him back here.

Greece may be shit but they still shouldn't be losing to the faroes.

I'm undecided on this!

Good job we aren't in for Mourinho then considering they got battered at home by Bradford last season!  Dodged a bullet there...

Yeah I agree I edited my post, probably at the same time you were writing this :D

He did well with Chelsea - established a very decent squad that Jose subsequently took over. Took them to the champions league and a 2nd place finish only to _that_ Arsenal team. A lot of Chelsea fans still hold him in high regard.

How can Veron and Crespo not be deemed decent?

veron could be, same with crespo, parker and johnson surely.

Clearly a talented manager but I just can't see it working out. Like it or not, Allardyce and O'Neill would have suited us better at this moment in time.

More worrying is the evident panicked scatter-gun approach that the club have made to this appointment. There was no contingency plan in place and the only requirement seem to be that they needed to be high-profile. We've ended up appointing a man who probably wouldn't have been considered had he not expressed interest in the press.

Very true.
