Guest Papasmurf Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 I still can't believe that people want this fraud. He has no idea how to motivate players in a relegation scrap and will ensure that the backroom setup we currently have will either leave or become redundant. I wasn't saying this 10 days ago but I'm now praying for MON over this new-era Sven. Have you missed the win ratios on the previous page? Not quite what I'd describe as a fraud.

He was called in to drag a team out of trouble in around 2007, succeeded

O'Neill maybe a better option, but not if Keane is involved.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 I would be happy with him too. He knows what the top league is all about.
Donut Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 I dont think theres any way people can argue he is not at least a good manager. And the win ratios displayed show that far from being over the hill, hes actually still going strong and building teams. Hes also had success in challenging times, early days at Chelsea, Parma, Juve, Monaco was a challenge. I dont know why it would be suggested he would have "no idea" how to motivate players when he has managed some of the biggest and best in the world without too much of a problem. Would be an excellent appointment IMO.
ARM1968 Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 O'Neill possibly better but not at the cost of Keane.

Thought with the additions we were not planning to be in a relegation scrap and he has done it before, certainly better than some of those linked and at least he has come out and said he is interested.

It's easier to motivate and man-manage your countrymen in your native league.

We are contenders with 8-10 other teams. Don't forget we were bottom until April last year.
teblin Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 Just read about his time at Chelsea, he brought many of the players that went in to be stars for Chelsea to the club. My first reaction was I didn't want him, but I think he is a decent manager just hope there is a younger man to work with him.

Look at the Leicester team, over half will be foreign.

Therefore there is a continuity link. We know Walsh was there for the initial part of Mourinho's period.
Donut Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 Also, maybe its the fact that hes cool, calm and calculated that gives the impression that hes not a motivator. Cool calm and calculated are great attributes to have
Stevosevic Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 He can motivate players on 100k a week,I'm sure he can motivate David Nugent and Wes Morgan.
eblair Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 he's actually just a shite manager, pearson has won more silverware and achieved more in the game; ranieri has been at three of italy's biggest clubs and won nothing - embarrassinga big name for a big name's sake; its bleedin pitifulif the thais do appoint him thats it for me with them, but i dont think anyone is that stupid - mind they did sack pearson

Webbo Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 All the new manager has got to do is keep us up . I think some of us have to remember who we support. we're Leicester City not Man U. Just because somebody hasn't won the Italian league doesn't mean they're not good enough for us.

He is clearly NOT a shite manager. He managed Juve who had just been promoted after a matchfixing scandal and put them back in the champions league. He saved Parma. He bought a large percentage of the players Mourinho used to win the league at Chelsea. He took Monaco from Ligue 2 to 2nd in Ligue 1 and the champions league. His CV far outweighs Pearsons. This is not to say Pearson didnt have a good CV or did a bad job. Im just saying stop with the exaggerations.
veezeeblue Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 this interview was one year ago, i can understand him fine . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-f3Xt6E_r0 good interview - from 2007-9 though when he was Juve manager good record and experience excellent candidate given his dismissal from Chelsea - he may be keen to prove his premier pedigree again also he has few major honours in his mangerial career - still hunting glory ! that makes him a great choice IMO Would love MON but something about Ranieri that I like ! Also he broght in some great players at Chelsea like Huth ! may just be the one to take us onward n upward !!

And i was v pro nige.
foxychik Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 Get him in ... 1) he appears to wants the job 2) he is proven at the highest level 3) he is not dyche or Lennon 4) he is not ( allegedly)asking for Roy Keane as no 2 5) he is not Cotteril 6) how we could turn our noses up at anyone that has had success at Chelsea is beyond me ( it's a tough gig ) 7) he appears to wants the job 8) as much as a cult figure as he has become two days ago we though we were getting Preki - he's not him either 9) hes not Harry Rednapp 10) we don't have a manager and we need one ASAP 11) he would be at least a well calculated risk NP isn't coming back - We're not going to get Klopp, Mouriniho, Pep, MON will probably say no and allegedly wants Keane as no2 ( no chance of that happening IMO) It seems to me we having nothing to lose what is the realistic alternative?
