Confirmed: Ranieri new manager

Strikes me as a manager who maybe doesn't do his research and accepts any old job offered to him. I bet he didn't watch 1 of our games last year

Because you've decided you don't like him? You've agreed with somebody who's said that he only works for big clubs and big name players, but he took Cagliari from C1 to Serie A in successive seasons, saved Parma from relegation (15 points after 23 matches, he got hired and they finished 12th), and there are a few more impressive finishes he's achieved with other clubs, but considering you're not even taking the time to read beyond the list of names on Wikipedia before spouting shit there's no point.

Not to try and defend sven, as I know everyone on here hates him... But you've got to say, in the championship, big money signings aren't really the same signings

he would have available to him in the premier league..

QPR ??

Are people really judging him soley on FOUR games for greece?

Look at his club before those 4 games with Monaco. Only lost 9 times in 75 games!

It could be a success or it could fail and we have to change mid season, but why are some writing him off already??  Give the bloody guy a chance first!

Certainly one of the better names that was mentioned... If not the best when considering who we had/hadn't a chance of appointing. Looking forward to his reign. Welcome Claudio!

No doubt the people writing him off, are people that are bitter about Pearson.. No manager (Other than O'Neill (Who is a less successful manager)) would have made these people happy!

Last season NP made us fashionable. I think everyone respected us and especially the way we played. It just feels like all that hard work is slowly and surely being undone. Ranieri isn't really a big name anymore as people have said he's got quite lucky getting the job. I just hope he doesn't rip up the squad like Peter Taylor did

You're talking absolute dog turd mate

The difference is he was a young hungry manager in his home country although he did so well to save Parma I hope he does well here but this puts us in a much worse position that we should be in right now. I haven't looked at Wikipedia ive long thought Ranieri was shite and shocked he kept getting these 'big jobs' in the last 10 years. Now he's ended up here- terrific

Lets hope Chelsea have won the league by the final game, and if we require a win, surely they will let Ranieri get it :) clear.png, great thinking owners!

Dunno about that, Ranieri and Mourinho don't like each other at all

I think the sackings he's had are a slight misnoma as this is the modus operandi of a lot of the top Italian and Spanish clubs, prem clubs are getting less patient too. No-one seems to get much time at the top clubs these days.

Carlo Ancelotti has been sacked by Juve, Milan, Chelsea and Real Madrid. Is he good enough for the City job?

That's right. Apart from The Weng nobody has been in a manager job for very long in the Prem. Pearson was the 2nd longest serving manager in the Prem at the end of last season.

Having let this sink in I would say its a fairly good appointment but one that does worry me a little. As far as the list of possible managers go I'd probably rather have had Di Matteo, maybe O'Neil, Bielsa.

Claudio isn't someone I am excited by but also he isn't someone I'm furious at either

Got to page 6 then jumped to last page! Like many others cautiously optimistic, best of the lot, certainly best of the realistic options available to us (Klopp, Beilsa beyond our reach). I do get the impression that he has something to prove in the Premier League, ousted too soon at Chelsea. This wouldn't have been the case with Hiddink who looks disinterested in football in general. Also it protects the O'Neil legacy.

Some of the absolute cod shite on here.... It's hard to understand how some of you get out of bed to face life in the morning, let alone conjure the ability to smash your drivel into the world wide web.

Wah, wah wah, Greece wah.. **** off to Grimsby.

Overall happy but for some unknown reason I don't feel VARDY will settle with him in charge as much as he did with pearson, that's my only concern and I don't know why either

Hopefully certain people like Dangerous Tiger won't be around for a few days; this should be celebrated, as who would've imagined we acquired a internationally-renowned manager (seriously) like Claudio?

We had Martin Allen, Levein etc not so long ago...

Celebrate the moment. :scarf:

typical tabloid shite - all true but missing the key points to balance it out. 1 liners re his successes followed by whole paragraphs stating he was unsuccessful and sacked but not stating that success was winning the league and 2nd place was failure.

The problem with this tabloid dross is that people actually believe what they read without checking the facts and leave with the perception the writer wants you to leave with rather than just presenting the facts and letting the readers form their own perception
