Ranieri knows him very well, it is he who gave Marcel his first chance in Ligue 1, he acted like Marcel’s father when he was just starting out. Marcel has kept very good memories from his time with Ranieri and it would be a pleasure to work with him again.

thybluefox Posted 15 July 2015 Posted 15 July 2015 Interesting. Only 22, spent last year on loan at Lens an Toulouse. Looks to be 3rd choice at Monaco so wants a loan move elsewhere. Not sure how good he is, but if it signals the departure of Simpson then I'm keen.

Don't know a lot about him - what kind of player is he? Do you think he would be a success at Premier League level? Thanks for the extra info.

Marcel Tisserand was to replace Fabinho who was supposed to leave Monaco, but he is not. So Tisserand wants to go and only a permanent deal will please both the club and the player. Tisserand can play as a right-back and a left-back, and also as a defensive midfielder as he did last year when he played on loan at Toulouse. He is quite unexperimented so it will be a little bit difficult at the beginning in the Premiere League. But he is a good bet, Monaco really love him but Fabinho is way better unfortunately.
Gerard Posted 15 July 2015 Posted 15 July 2015 Just had a look at him on youtube. He seems very inexperienced and raw but looks an athlete and comfortable on the ball. I'd be more dubious about this signing if Ranieri hadn't worked with him before but I guess he knows a lot about him so should be no surprises.
