Top ten of City's WORST ever players (ie the players to play the worst in a City shirt)

Recommended Posts

I always felt he got unfair abuse. Fair enough, he wasn't amazing and prone to the odd mistake but he was generally fairly steady.

I liked him and never gave him abuse. But he was an appalling player.

He wasn't as error prone as some other defenders, but he used to get ripped to shreds anyway because we so painfully slow and lacking in technical skill.

Always gave me a few laughs though because he looked so uncomfortable, fortunately we were a decent team then so we could afford to have a bit of a chuckle now and again.

Is it weird that I really wish I'd seen Junior Lewis play? (I mean, I assume I never saw him play, the way everyone talks about him I'd have remembered it).

Whenever a thread like this comes up he's always mentioned more than anyone else.

I've seen some utterly dreadful shit watching the City but I'm strangely fascinated that this guy can be (seemingly) so definitively the worst.

He must have been logic-defyingly bad.

He definitely had his own 'style'. Not the worst I've seen by a long chalk, but he was a Peter Taylor signing, and considering the midfield we'd been accustomed to, he didn't exactly win over the crowd.

Wayne Clarke 11 appearances 1 goal. Ashley Ward 10 appearances 0 goals. 2 of the most appalling strikers I've ever seen in a Leicester shirt. They were so bad apparently I'm the only one that remembers them lol

Some of us are trying to forget lol

Junior Lewis was literally like a non-league player.

He wouldn't have looked out of place playing for Shepshed or a team of that ilk.

And I'm not exaggerating.

Apologies for forgetting him.

lol

For sure, you are right...get Danns out of my list and swap him for Lewis or Spearing..

Joe Hammill  Junior Lewis  Dennis Wise  Scott Gemmill     Josh Low

Negative formation for a shockingly bad team, Christ the days between Micky Adams and Pearson were depressing.

Can't believe Tricky Trevor Benjamin took until page 5 to get a mention as he really was dire although I can remember seeing us win at Maine Road 1-0 with a frontline of him and Akinbiyi!

Which leads me on to Ade.  Yes he was really sh!te and he could have scored 5 times as many as he did for us in that season but he did actually get 10 goals for us that season which was twice as many as Vardy & Nugent and only 1 less than Leo.  So whilst it wasn't a bad return, he definitely still deserves a place on there as he was terrible and looking back, I'm unsure how he even got 10!

Lewis and Marshall have to be ahead of both of them though, Marshall maybe more so as he player almost every position and was still absolute garbage in any of them whereas Lewis did actually look really good in his first two home games against Liverpool and Chelsea.  After that though, it really did feel like watching someone that would struggle in a special Olympics team.

Still, none will ever beat almost the entire playing squad from the Levein/Kelly/Allen/Holloway, as well as numerous, even worse, caretakers!  Special shout out to Joe Hamill and the 47 right backs we had in that time.

Some of the names in this thread were shit at the time but could have been better for us if we at a different level. However junior Lewis and lee Marshall would have been shit whatever level we played at.

Obviously loads of players have been shit for us and we've had some woeful loan signings.

ajdarevic, tony Warner and kerrea Gilbert were shit when we we were at our lowest level. Paul dickov was woeful second time around. Looking back at that squad how many shit keepers did we loan in one season?
